  2. Hi horserider...l turned 50 on Nov 5th...Happy Birthday to you...l got my band 9/12 and l am so happy about it..l feel awesome already..mentally anyways....Lisa
  3. Hi Blue...and l totally agree...l was banded 9/12 and l'm at 25lbs....so l would say you are right where you are supposed to be..l'm happy doing what l'm doing..l too have questioned why others seems to have lost so much so quick...slow and steady wins the race, so to speak...Keep up the great work
  4. l have heard of people having trouble with scrambled as well..l think we have a tendancy to swallow, verse's chew..l can not eat hard boiled or deviled eggs, but am omelet seems fine....these bands are like two year old...they act up at a moments notice...Good luck to you...
  5. Eggs are hard to eat for many people..l think its the texture..l don't think you can chew it enough...probably just one of many things that will give you trouble.
  6. you are having the exact same feelings l am having, only l have had 1 fill...l do have a fill scheduled for Monday and l don't know if l need it..Geeees its painful when something gets stuck....wow..depending on the food, l fill up fairly quickly..My band is like a two yr old..never know when its going to act up....what l can eat today might be impossible tomorrow....Good luck...what size band to you have..l have a 14cc band with 4cc of fluid in mine...
  7. Hello Pontiac man..l too live in Mass and Have federal B/C and B/S...when you get your bill from the hospital, make sure you go over it..They were trying to charge me $4,000 for the lap band..a small piece of plastic, stating its billed as durable medical equipment..l have been fighting them as there is nothing in the book that states this, nor anything in my approval letter..l was expecting a bill for $100.00 for the hospital, not $4,000...So many others l work with have had the procedure done and didn't get a bill like mine...l haven't heard from thenm in a couple of weeks so maybe they have figuared it out...HEADS UP...
  8. My Doctor doesn't use anything but a needle...its a huge practise and l'm very comfortable without using fluro or xray equipment...seems like a way to drive up the cost..l'm sure if there was a problem he would certainly do it under fluro or xray..
  9. l tend to make a whole plate full and keep them in the fridge (chicken Breast)..great for almost anything...from roll ups, to salad to adding to soup...great source of protein...and theres so many flavors now that you can rub on them..almost like something new each time you cook...
  10. l vote for pur protein too...they rae great when you are caught out and need something quick..better than grabbing a burger at McDonalds...
  11. In those early days l blended everything..when you are sick of liquid, real food tastes awesome, no matter what it is...soups are great...beans are a great source of protein as well...
  12. relax....no matter what it is, you always hear the bad before the good....you're chances are better of being fine than having complications..l'm fairly new at this, banded 9/12...its a great , l mean awesome way to get controll of your life...Be fortunate we have this available...you will be fine...don't listen to all the neg...remember, they are probably just unhappy, and are trying to discourage you...rereasch your dr and find out what their percent of complications are...you'll be surprised at how low a percent it really is...Good Luck and smile, knowing your day is coming...
  13. l'm 5'1 and mine is 14cc
  14. l have heard that CAPITAL 1 will finance lap band surgery...
  15. GO and have a GREAT TIME....
  16. Jill...l'm also down 19 lbs and had my surgery 9/12....
  17. Hi Jill...l had my first fill last week..l never felt a thing...honestly l was scared to death and was so relived that mine didn't hurt at all..Perhaps your second fill won't hurt you....l was shocked when it was over...Good luck to you
  18. NEVER GIVE UP....you are worth the wait
  19. do you think maybe you need more calories? Perhaps you are burning so many that your body is going into starvation mode...just a thought..sometimes it can be a balancing act
  20. Hi Sept...l too had a simular experience..When l got my bill for my surgery, it said l owed $4,000..the hospital charged my insurance company over $23,000 for the procedure..Suddenly when l questioned both the insurance and the hospital, they found a mistake..My insurance, BC/BS actually paid the entire bill never questioning it..well upon checking, the hospital billed my insurance twice for the actual lap band, which they say that small piece of plastic is $9,000...suddenly my bill dropped to 1/2...but bec the lap band is concidered durable medical equipment, my insurance pays 70/30...can you imagine the carelessness of the insurance by just paying the bill in the first place..Was l the only one to ever have this lap band procedure? The insurance thought it was quite funny and then said, l guess you just saved yourself $2,000..No where in my dealings with the insurance company or in my approvals did it say any of this...l was expecting a bill for $100.00....look into the billing, like l did...good luck
  21. they were more than wonderful..very kind and conciderate...the whole experience was great..you're in great hands...me newly banded 9/12
  22. thats my group and they are totally awesome.....wouldn't trade them for anyone else
  23. l have 4cc in a 14 cc band with great restriction...have had a couple of episodes of sliming and such...you will reach your spot..we are all so different trying to talk the same language, so to speak...good luck
