  1. Hello! I have some questions regarding the process for the desert region. I was referred by my PCP to their "weight loss specialist," Dr. Provonsha on Thursday, and received a call from his office on Friday scheduling me for a meeting with him on 11/26 in Palm Desert. Does this mean that I'm part of the Options program? I have no idea what to expect, or what is going on, really. I specifically told my PCP I wanted a referral to the bariatric surgery program, and that's what she sent. However, when I spoke with the specialist scheduler the next morning and mentioned that I wanted to speak about surgery, she said "Oh you'll have to speak to him about that." Maybe I'm being sensitive, but I'm really hoping this comes through for me. My BMI is 40.1, I've been fat my whole life, and I just want it GONE! Any advice or guidance would be a big help.
