Hello and welcome to the forum. Your weight loss stahl may be because your metabolism is in shock. You are now eating a considerable less amount of calories and so your body is saying "HEY!!!" And as mentioned above losing 1-2lbs a week is effective. It is also proven to be effective for permanent weight loss. Keep up the hard work!!! Deb

Are you working out while on preop liquids?
I think this is normal to feel this exhausted as your not getting the same amount of calories and carb's as your body is used to. Good luck with your surgery!!! Deb

What my mother said
Wow I thought I was the only one with such a negative mother. Currently we arent speaking so that will make my decision and surgery so much easier. I honestly think that some people are jealous when we choose change our lives for the better. Deb

Out of control eating; bingeing, please help!
"Unless you’ve been through this, you couldn’t possibly understand. I’ve been posting about waiting for referrals, which gives me plenty of time to alternate between doubting myself, feeling depressed about my fat, and wanting to be banded so much I can hardly stand it." <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Wow you described me to a T!!! I feel the same way. I go around and around about being banded then when I'm sure I get angry because it takes so darn long. Ugh... I feel your pain! Deb

Why are YOU Fat?
Wow great thread!!! Why am I fat? Well I've always been a very thin child until I was around twelve. At that time... the abuse started. I think in my mind I thought that if I gained weight and I wasn't attractive it would stop. I was wrong. Then I just began to hate myself. Who wouldnt? When I finally opened up about my abuse I was pushed aside and called a liar by my family! :cool2: This started me on a slippery slope of self abuse which, even with lots of therapy and a fantastic supportive husband, continues to this day. I am more aware though and that makes a huge difference for me. I have educated myself a lot in this area and feel that I "understand" but will never really heal from the hurtful experience. At this point I have a very strained relationship with my family and I think it is because they don't really know how to deal with the trauma of it all... or even admit that the family has problems. They are definitly of the mindset that if it isn't talked about it didn't/doesn't happen. So... fat? Yes I have learned some awful skills like overeating, boredom eating and emotional eating. Emotional eating is really my demon that I fight with!

Helloooooooo anyone there
Honestly I'm looking at a few different hospitals; Portsmouth Regional, Elliot and Lowell down in MA. I have scheduled myself for the "informational meetings" at both Portsmouth and Elliot and I called about the Lowell General but haven't heard back. It appears to me that both Portsmouth and Elliot make you jump threw an awful lot of hoops, lets face it, I'm fat. I know I'm fat and I know I need to deal with it. But what can ya do? So I will go to the meetings and check THEM out!!! Deb
