I’ve lost 50lbs since 12/18/19.... not one person has said anything! Nothing! Haha Saturday I did back to back spin and ran into a woman who I hadn’t seen since November and she didn’t say a word. BUT! She tells this other girl setting up next to us she looks like she is losing weight. She lost 5lbs! 5 freaking lbs (good for her - not hating on her) and I’ve lost 50 and nothing hahaha

I know it’s not the same pose same clothes .... 12/18/19 was sleeve. I only go to the gym (I’m a stay at home mom to 5,4,3,2yr olds)

no one suspects I’m sick- since they see me in the gym at all hours . One spin instructor even made a comment I should teach spin since I’m doing it all the time ...

So yes, I give a damn. Someone comments on ianother persons weight loss in front of me and doesn’t say a word about mine ... rant in rant and raves ... drop mic 🎤

I don’t want to even tell my husband (of 9years and 4 children)and I’ve just been approved for surgery .... I’ve had some womanly surgeries and gallbladder problems in the past so I’m hoping to just play it off as that. 😬 . He is very supportive but I just really need this to be for myself...I don’t know if that makes sense.
I don’t know if he will catch on 🤷‍♀️ I am the only MO person in the family and no one has had WLS that he knows ...

There's definitely a very noticeable difference so... maybe people are just really, really, really unobservant sometimes. I can understand the frustration though and hopefully someone will get clue and say something! You look great though! Good job!

I just wanted to update — I upped my calories as per my dietician suggested and lost 3.6 lbs this week. Totally counterintuitive but our bodies are much smarter then us. 🤣😂

I'm so sorry that people aren't commenting on your hard work! I'm lucky I guess, because my co-workers all know I had weight loss surgery since so many people I work with have done the same and everyone always comments on how much thinner my face is and how much I look like my sister now which is a HUGE compliment as my sister is seventy pounds lighter than me! And at my nieces birthday party in February one of my sisters friends, who I hadn't seen since before I started my weight loss journey in May did an actual double take. She told my sister 'Wow your sister has lost like a hundred pounds since I saw her last, how did she do it?!' and when my sister told me I was so happy for the compliment as at the time I'd lost only 82 pounds since I'd seen her last. I like the compliments so I understand how discouraging it would be that no one is praising your hard work! So I just want to tell you that you're doing amazing and undoubtedly look fabulous and sometime soon people are definitely going to take notice of your efforts! I wish you the best!

Haha seriously! I am busting my ass in the gym. It’d be nice for someone to throw some positive feedback my way..... I mean I doubt any of these people think I’m sick since they see me in the weight room or spin everyday.

I’ve done it many times before on diets . But, I also didn’t have the restriction like I have had . I haven’t even lost 30lbs on with pre op diet plus vsg

Again, I’m not saying NOT to get the surgery or regret it. I’m clearly stating my frustration just like others have stated theirs. Why can’t y’all just let this be our “safe space” to freely talk about frustration during this process ?

Just an FYI, he's a chiropractor. By law, unlike "protected titles" such as nurse or physiotherapist, anyone can call themselves a doctor or a neurologist.

I know but the info is still the same.
His delivery is very accessible to many audiences and they can look up research journals if they need more scientific evidence. (Just because someone presents an idea doesn't mean your work of further investigation is done)

I'm with you. food is something that is legal and every person needs to live. Cocaine, Heroin, ICE etc are all illegal and are not required for survival.

My issue is people saying "wow you look amazing - how did you lose the weight?". Because I didn't tell people I had surgery, people are curious. So now I've told pretty much everyone who has asked me that I had sleeve surgery, mainly as the diet and exercise line is a lie, while I've changed both, the sleeve has done the heavy lifting on my weight loss. It's funny though, the more I lose, the less I care if people know I've had weight loss surgery? What makes me quite irritated is people who are already at a healthy weight who ask me - I'm happy to tell fellow obese people as it may help them, but I feel like lots of people just want to gossip about it. I often feel like they are disappointed it was surgery, as they want weightloss tips lol. I also get annoyed my weight is a hot topic now, no-one said a thing when I was eating myself to death, bit now my body and the shape it's in seem to be fair game for conversation.

Quite a few years ago I had dropped 30 lbs rather quickly, I had stopped taking the birth control I was on and started dieting and exercising, and I was accused of doing drugs! I was like No! I have made some good life style changes!

it's nice to hear when people notice. But I understand. Since August i lost 42ish lbs. The people that i work with on a daily bases can tell i have lost..... But, my husband's family and some of his friends don't say a word unless he said.... Doesn't chris look great... Then they will say something.
But before the wedding when he lost weight..... his family was all about .... Wow tim you lost a lot of weight. Here i was down 20lbs... and not one word.... It did hurt my feelings.... but ohhhh well.
