  1. I wasn't given a specific plan pre-op or even for the 2 weeks leading up to surgery. Personally I did low-carb high protein and that worked well enough to get me to my pre-op weight needed in time.
  2. Wow that's great for 2 months! More details? Surgery date and type? Pre-op weight and weight loss since then?
  3. Great work! Good to see another guy around here too! Tomorrow is 3 weeks for me so we're on the same journey man!
  4. Congrats on surgery and the weight loss! Firstly please feel free to fill out your profile so we have details on all kinds of stuff about you that will help us answer questions.
  5. Quick update - I was 297 all weekend - like to the T, 297.8 exactly all three days lol. Woke up this morning and was 295.8 so that's good. Had a BM which I think will help. I'm going to add more fiber and milk of magnesia into my diet.
  6. Baritastic does everything I need. I use Pacer for walking.
  7. During the time between my final weigh in and my actual surgery I went crazy. I actually had a gluttony day with my friends where we had donuts, cinnamon rolls, pizza, soda, cheesecake, chips, etc. It was great and honestly I'm glad I did it. I got in everything I wanted and I've been fine with cravings since surgery.
  8. Prolly a few reasons - the carbonation can't be good for the smaller stomachs, the acid as well, the artificial sweeteners in diet soda are just as bad as sugar for you and it's a small stretch to go from diet coke back to regular coke so it's best to avoid all together.
  9. Actually its not all about reps. Low reps and high weight still breaks the muscles down and gives them the need to rebuilt just as much as low weight high reps. I did a program before surgery that was 1x a week, low reps high weight and I increased all of my maxes by quite a bit in a short time frame. That said - anything is better than nothing!
  10. They said in this post.
  11. Filling out your profile will help! Surgery type, date, starting weight, all that stuff.
  12. THIS! I had lap gastric bypass and it was using my abs and core that hurt, but really only for the first week and a half or so. Log rolling to get out of bed helped.
  13. Great job! You look amazing and I'm sure you feel the same way!
  14. That's not quite true. I was liquids for 2 weeks and now I'm on soft foods not purees.
  15. My pre-op diet was 1 day and I am SO THANKFUL now lol!
  16. Medicaid can be tough, might be why they told you so long. Keep on them and call them as much as you want until they decide! Mine was a state specific BCBS and it went pretty smoothly but they just got the $130k bill from the hospital and doctor so we'll see how they react to that lol. I met my out of pocket for the year so it should cost me nothing.
  17. I think I broke off the 3 week slide this morning - down 2 pounds compared to yesterday! 297, a full 30 down from surgery weight in less than 3 weeks. My doctor told me that because I was young (early 30's) and a male that I should lose the weight like crazy. Thanks for the info and advice - I plan to stick to the program!
  18. Use low fat mayo/cream cheese and you should be ok. Might put extra protein via crab or powder just to be safe.
  19. Caffeine is dehydrating which is a BIG risk the first month or so after surgery. Personally I'm trying to stay off for 6 months, not even decaf.
  20. This is good and I hope it's all true!
  21. Good question and I'm following this as well as a recent sleeve patient!
  22. Highly dependent on your specific insurance. Mine took less than a week.
  23. I use baritastic and love it! Tracks water intake too.
  24. I was only out of work the week of surgery. I was able to work from home the next week and I've been back at work this whole week. I haven't felt the fatigue that much honestly and things have been super smooth after getting through the first 4 or 5 days. That's when swallowing about any amount hurt and coughs and sneezes killed me. But since then no issues, down 30 pounds as of this morning in less than 3 weeks.
  25. This fear is one of the reasons that I told very few people. My closest 4 couple friends, 4 people at work and my parents/sister/wife. That's it. No one else needs to know. That group gives me all the support I need. I don't need people telling me what I can and can't eat. In fact I'm going to actively avoid most office food stuff now - pot lucks, xmas parties, etc. At least for a year or so. I avoided them before but because I was fat and ate too much so at least it won't look different haha
