I spent so much time planning my bag and ended up packing a robe, magazines, books, clothes, pills, personal products and so much more. I only ended up using my phone charger.

Hey! We are all sleeve siblings. I got my sleeve done January 7th and man its been a journey. I was struggling with the liquid phase and couldn't wait to move on to pureed. Little did i know, i ended up hating pureed and went back to liquids the first week. I needed to find a way to get all of my Protein in before i can eat something because after a bite of pureed food i was full for hours. My new thing is that i drink a Protein Shake in the morning (still takes forever), for lunch i have one of those tuna creation packs (high protein), and for dinner a meat that is high in protein or just another protein shake. it works for me and my pouch but can be different for others. This journey is actually interesting. Learning hat your body likes and doesn't like is very cool and im glad i did the surgery.

I went to the gym this morning and did some cardio. It was awesome!! If you were working out before the surgery, you will feel a difference for sure since we are lighter.

I am still on the pureed stage but I feel like I am still drinking most of my calories with shakes and smoothies

Wow I had no idea a topic on bowel movements would cause so much attention.
Thank you to all who took the time to reply.
I went to my first follow-up appointment and the surgeon told me to start with Miralax (like I did for the bowel prep) to begin the "initial flush," then to switch to fiber gummies and take those with my supplements.
I appreciate everyone's responses, thank you once again. This has been such an overwhelming initial two weeks. I start pureed foods next week which I was told would also help with the bowels as well.

I had surgery on the 7th and completely agree with the pain and everything you said. It does get easier day by day. Best of luck to you and congratulations for changing your life for the better

You can do this! It IS tough at first, but each day is better than the previous one. Take care of yourself and be patient with yourself with your eating and drinking schedule. It's daunting at first, but it does become easier!

Mine is scheduled for January 7th. I'm incredibly nervous. I've been hesitant to follow the pre diet with the joy of the holidays. I know this is basically my last Christmas

My pre-op is tomorrow, 12/24- Christmas Eve! Surgeon is Dr.Chu at Kaiser Fremont, CA. My surgery will be 1/7 & I’m so psyched! I have my Vitamins, muscle milk, broths & am ready! I’m afraid of the first 1-2 weeks because I hear they are a bit difficult. Fingers crossed!!!!

I still do not have my surgery date. I think about my surgery constantly. I read forums, I watch videos, read blogs. Is anyone as obsessed as I am? Is this normal?

I have PCOS too and I was also so worried I wouldn't lose the weight after surgery. PCOS was the reason I had the surgery since the PCOS gave me the metabolic disorder and no matter what I gained weight and couldn't lose no matter how little I ate and how much I worked out. My brother lived with us at the time and said he just thought maybe I wasn't working out hard enough and eating while I was out. Even though he'd ask me if I wanted something from whatever fadt food he was getting and I would always tell him no. When I finally told him why and it's because of PCOS he felt bad lol.

I'm 2 1/2months out from surgery and I am down 45lbs. So I've been losing steadily. I am so happy I got the surgery. I do get scared at times its too good to be true and the PCOS is gonna ramp up and stop me from losing anymore weight then I'll start gaining lol.

It took me almost 12 years to figure out why I wasn’t able to lose and was only gaining after living my whole life like a twig until I was 29...GIRLS let me tell you the surgery has been a life and sanity saver! I would do it again even with horrific complications post surgery...or whatever happened... my life is almost normal again like it was 15 years ago.

    8am, 1pm, 6pm: calcium citrate
    9pm: Iron + Multivitamin

As long as they are about 2 to 3 hrs apart. Body can only absorb 500mg of Calcium citrate at one time.

Everyone does it differently. This is what works for me.
I have reminder apps and I make sure I have some handy in my handbag for times I'm out of the house.
