Over the years I have tried many methods to lose weight including hypnosis, acupuncture, liquid protien diet, weight watchers, and
over eaters anonymous. None were successful except the liquid diet. I succeeded at losing 68 pounds about the same time Oprah did, 1990.
After I broke my ankle and was on crutches for 4 months I began to gain it back and lost all focus on exercise and counting calories.
Many years later I decided enough was enough and had the lap band surgery when my insurance agreed to pay for it in 2003. At first I lost 1 pound per day, then nothing more when regular meals returned to my diet. After a while I gained even those pounds back up to 267. I did not have any fills since I often experienced problems for improper chewing and eating too fast. In 2010 I had my first fill. The change was not immediately apparent, but after about 6 months I could feel the restriction. I weighed 235 at the time. I have since lost another 35 pounds and am now at 200 pounds. I hope to gradually keep losing and get down to 160 eventually. I am not in a rush but am reintroducing walking back into my life as I am now past the 5th ankle
surgery since the original break 2/28/1991.
