  1. I'm still doing paperwork although I might be swapping surgeons and going to Scott and White instead because this back and forth thing to Austin is really starting to get expensive. I'm always up for getting together. Dani
  2. He's been looking into different soup ideas for me and also ways to get me to eat a protein shake. Its funny though because some of the guys in his unit (he's active army) are teasing him that they'll bring him real food once the diet kicks in. He's being great about this and is looking at it as a tool to help both of us instead of him being punished. Any good suggestions on protein shakes?? I've tried several and they all taste just horrible.
  3. That kind of support is so great to hear about. I have no clue how i'm going to do the whole liquid diet part but i'll figure it out. I'm a full time nanny so i've got kids who eat anything and everything all day long and then a husband who's a to die for cook. Goodness this is going to be an exercise in will power.
  4. Nothing is harder then walking into a doctors office and having them tell you "oh this won't work for you" Its one of those moments when its all I can do to look at them and say "how do you know if you start out the appointment with the opinion that i'm going to fail" I haven't had my first appointment yet, i've been a slacker when it comes to faxing in paperwork although i'm going to get that done on monday.
  5. So I figured that I'd check and see if Tricare had gotten a chance to look at my referral since it was sent in friday morning and its posted and Approved!! I have to see a doctor in Austin so thats not bad at all. Its a lot closer the Dallas. I wanna just jump around and do the goofy happy dance. Although my husband wasn't impressed I"m thrilled.
  6. The seminar is the end of June and i'm already scheduled for it so that is on the way to being one less thing i need to do. Its more just getting the ball rolling. I also have no idea which doctor they are going to send me to because they have them in Austin, Temple and Dallas so its all who Tricare can find and who's got the first available.
  7. I just got home from my appointment and she submitted my referral and told me there was no reason she could see that tricare wouldn't approve it. So now i have to wait to see the surgeon which in this area is probably going to take me the longest.
  8. Okay so I finally have my first appointment with my PCM to see exactly what my insurance company is going to require. Anyone ever worked with Tricare?? I'm so psyched to have this appointment and get started on my journey. Wish me luck.
  9. I love this idea. I honestly think i'm going to do the scrapbook idea although not like i need a reason to start another scrapbook. I'm just at the beginning of my journey so now is the time to start it. Thanks so much.
  10. If your going to NY to have it done talk to Dr. Quetell in Syracuse NY. He is a wonderful doctor, caring very personable and a wonderful surgeon. He did my breast reduction in 2005 and now 3 years later I'm still has happy as the day I had it done.

  12. I'm Dani and we actually live in Heights. I haven't been banded yet we're just starting the process but I'd love to meet and be able to ask you some questions and then after i get my band we can work out together. Just let me know
  13. I'm Dani, I'm 23 and I'm seriously considering the lap band. I've been heavy all of my life and while I've lost the weight it seems each time its harder and harder. I go to the gym 3 days a week, watch my carb and calorie intake and still can't lose any weight. I have PCOS so i know that has some to do with it but I'm tired of being the big girl. My husband and I are going to a seminar about the lap band later next month because I agreed that we'd answer all of his questions before I made this huge step.
