  1. Thanks for all the info. I understand that WLS is just a tool but the way he explained it was that you will never lose more than 30-40 pounds. I mentioned to him that I've seen that people have lost more weight than that but I'm not sure he understood what I ment.. I could hardly understand him.. I went to a group in Elmira NY. I think for now I'm going to get with a nutritionist for 6 months to a year and see what happens there before making any decisions on surgery. I don't have any of the health problems ( yet ) but would like to lose the weight before the health problems come. Thank you everyone for the info. This is a great site for Info...
  2. Yesterday I went to the sergons office to get information what options there are for weight loss. I have a BMI of 48 and he did not recommend the Lap Band stating that only about 30-40% of people that get the band actually lose weight. He also stated that they people that lose weight only lose about 30-40 pounds. Has anybody else heard anything like this? I see that lots of people are loosing more than 30-40 pounds.
