futurefinemama got a reaction from pretty-in-pink in STOP MAKING EXCUSES
This WHOLE ENTIRE POST IRKS ME. Funny how, a person who has been Obese, has the audacity to get on WLS Forum to ridicule people on their journey. You are still in your honeymoon phase of your surgery and Good For You, that you lost your excess weight, and Good For You that you had the "mental stamina" to achieve your goals and Good For You that you are "healthy and skinny". But without your WLS surgery, would you be able to stand on your high horse and scream down to the people who were once in the same boat about their struggles? This Forum, from what I know, is to help people on their journey; good, bad or indifferent. I personally, like the authenticity of posts, where people are brave enough to admit their struggles and downfalls. At least, they are willing to admit their faults and seek help. You never know what post can help somebody with the same issue. Everyone that has gone through a WLS are well aware that this road is NOT easy. This community already receives, judgement, criticisms and ridicule from other people. It's just a hard pill to swallow when its one of our "own".

futurefinemama got a reaction from JessicaLY in Shapewear
I am a little over 6 weeks out and I know this is weird but I workout in Shapewear. Not necessarily Spanx but I have a non name brand panty girdle (i'm ol' skool) I got it from Catherine's. If I workout without the panty girdle, my stomach is on hang time. My incisions have healed and I first wore it about 4 weeks out.

futurefinemama got a reaction from BigJay79 in Don't it irks you when...
Don't it irks you when a former big person become a shamer? I have a coworker and she did not have a WLS but she had liposuction and a Tummy Tuck. And she always makes comments about bigger people (she's still sorta big just more shapely now). I went with her to get something to eat and she made a comment about every big person in line. Things like: "she know she needs a salad, I know that plate gotta weigh a ton" And when I called her out, she stated she was just teasing. I've worked with her for a while and I never heard her talk about people like that until she had her surgery. Now, she hasn't said anything about me to my face because she knows I will cuss her out. It just irks me. I decided not to go to lunch with her anymore because her energy is toxic. She finds joy in stepping on people which is kinda weird to me.

futurefinemama got a reaction from bufbills in Recent NSVs
What are your recent NSVs?
I'm 11 days post op. And I have a couple NSVs:
1. My sister had a pool yesterday and she ordered pizza, wings and fries and I was not tempted by any of it! I was so worried about the food temptation, I almost canceled.
2. I meal prepped (first time ever) and brought my lunch and snack to the party.
3. I was comfortably able to tie my shoes while sitting in a chair. (Heeeeyyy)
4. I ran after small kids at a pool party.

I get it. Sometimes that petty comes out. Good one! Especially, when it towards someone who makes someone feel bad about themselves. My mom always stated, you never look down on someone because you can always find yourself in their position.

futurefinemama got a reaction from rmz123 in gastric sleeve vs. Gastric bypass
I had the sleeve. My BMI is pretty high (66 was 73), my surgeon suggested the Sleeve due to my weight and previous medical issues (maybe a little less invasive). He also stated people with the Sleeve and RNY can lose about the same amount, just Sleevers might lose at a slower rate. I am 6 weeks out. I lost 36lbs before preop and 34lbs postop. I had minimum issues so far, I dealt with acid reflux a couple days after surgery and a UTI. But right now, no issues (fingers crossed) and I feel back to normal. Just from my OWN research, as far as weight loss forums, YouTube, FB groups, I think with RNY the heavier you are the more weight you drop, in comparison to the Sleeve.

futurefinemama got a reaction from Pandemonium in Therapy...how in the world do you figure this out?
I am currently in therapy. I continued with my therapist who completed my psych evaluation. And the plus with this counselor is that he is a certified bariatric counselor. He is able to address my current weight loss journey that my previous counselor sorta did not have a clue. I am a stress eater, so we mainly talk about life issues that stress me. And this strategy helps because I feel like I can decompress every week.

Thank you! I definitely agree because it feels so good when the numbers start dropping again. I had my an appointment with my bariatric doctor and I am now down to 226! I'm over the moon.

futurefinemama reacted to Recidivist in Painted in a corner--marriage issue
Wow.
First of all, there is nothing selfish about taking control of your health by getting surgery. We all have the right to make smart choices about our health and our bodies, and you should be congratulated for taking the next step. You also have every right to Celebrate your weight loss success after surgery and to find joy in everyday life that may have eluded you before.
I'm not a psychologist, but I think it's pretty clear that your husband does NOT support your surgery. Saying you should think through your decision by giving you all the possible negative repercussions seems like a passive/aggressive attempt to talk you out of it. As you said, it's emotional abuse.
If you can't get him to go the therapy, you should address this with your therapist (if you haven't already) so you can separate you own needs from your husband's attempts to control you. This decision might be the catalyst you need to explore whether your marriage is worth saving.
Of course, I can't pretend to understand the dynamics of your marriage, but that's my honest assessment based on the information you have provided. Best wishes for whatever decision you make, and know that you will have a supportive community here throughout your journey.

futurefinemama reacted to AmberToTheT in June 2020 Sleevers, how are you doing?
I was sleeved June 15th and I am starting to see some Hair loss as well as a stall. I am stuck at 249 (down from 292) and I must admit that I did let it upset me. Now I am in a bit of a slump over it but trying to make it through.

futurefinemama reacted to It's time. in June 2020 Sleevers, how are you doing?
I haven't had one single problem... until today when there was a handful of hair in the drain! It was awful! I know it's normal, but I've had other surgeries and didn't have this problem so it must be because of the rapid weight loss. I'm down 50 pounds . I am doing everything by the book, eating , Vitamins, Water, exercise. Very frustrating!! But, I feel great!

And I'm currently scheduled for an ultrasound on Thursday, because I've been having pain in my upper right abdomen half an hour after eating. I know what that probably means, but hoping for the best.
