  7. Have been having the WORSE sciatica pain in my hips for 3 days. Burning and painful. Hurts to sit still. Medication is not helping. Walking gives me relief. Saw my surgeon today and he told me that because I'm losing weight (30 lbs since surgery) its changed my center of gravity and my gait. Apparently this is a common complaint of people losing weight. Its gonna take some time to resolve but I'm hopeful it will. Was just another unexpected outcome! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. Hi all, just wanted to check in. Sleeved on 11/1 and then had to go back 11/5 to repair my hernia again. I started puree on 11/14. Taking things nice and slow. The most important thing I've learned is smaller bites and CHEW CHEW CHEW. It's funny, someone posted when their nose runs, they're full and I'm the same way. When you eat slowly your brain really picks up the cues of fullness better. I'm struggling getting the water in. Sometimes I forget and chug and that's painful so I have to mentally tell myself to sip all day. I still have my sutures but I'm seeing my surgeon again on Monday to remove them and I can't wait. The worst thing for me is the constipation! Does anyone take anything? I was thinking of mixing miralax in my fluids to help. Thanks in advance! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

  17. I'm finding it so hard to continue the clears too. Variety has definitely saved me but it's hard when I'm cooking REAL FOOD for my family plus every other commercial is for food. I just keep telling myself I've come too far to fail. You can do this! Keep pushing! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Hi Morrigan. Glad you're feeling better! I added mint extract to my crystal light and it helped my nausea so much! It really helped me to hydrate when I didn't want anything in my stomach. I'm also on liquids. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

  20. Thanks everyone SO MUCH for the thoughts and prayers. So quick recap: went in for my sleeve on 11/1. When I came out of recovery I immediately did not feel right. I was up and walking right away but so nauseous. All the other sleeved patients look so much better than I did! I was shaky and vomiting for the next 3 days. I failed my upper GI test twice. The contrast would not move past my esophagus into my stomach. I found out along the way that I had the sleeve done AND a hernia repair. They let me eat and discharged me home despite these complications on my 3rd day. My first night at home I vomited 5 times. I called my surgeon and he told me to come back in the morning so he could do an EGD. Went back to the hospital and they tried to do a cat scan with MORE DYE. I told them I couldn't drink it and proved it by throwing it up. They finally got themselves together and took me back to the OR where I had the EGD done and repair once more of my hernia. Apparently, my sleeve came up through the hernia and was blocking and putting pressure on my esophagus. It's why I couldn't swallow and food wouldn't go all the way down. I came out of recovery feeling 1000% better. I got discharged back home yesterday and I'm tolerating my clears no problem. GUYS, thanks so much for thinking of me. Please advocate for yourselves. If you dont feel right, you guys know your bodies! Don't be afraid to speak up and fight for yourselves. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Please send prayers! I'm still in the hospital. Came out of surgery with so much pain and nausea! Been throwing up for 3 days! I failed my upper GI test yesterday to see if it was safe to progress to clear liquids. They think I have a lot of swelling and the vomiting hasn't helped. I felt like the contrast was literally stuck in my esophagus and could not move past my stomach. So painful. I'm going again this morning. I'm hoping it goes better this time. I really miss my kids and my husband and I hope for an improvement soon. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

  26. Thanks Kia. Praying for you too! Just a few more days on the liquid diet. It's been rough. I feel so tired and I can feel that I have low energy. I'm ready for the next step already too Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

  28. Hey Kia! Doing good. I have a 7 day pre op diet so I started today! I wish I could do the veggies in my plan. Mine is liquids, jello, broth and yogurt. Thank God work kept my mind off the hunger! I did my pre admission testing today and had my ekg, urine, and blood work done. Even met with anesthesiologist. They gave me 3 shakes to carb load the day before surgery and the hibeclens soap to use the night before and day of surgery. Can you believe how quickly things are moving along now???
