tahoetwin reacted to KarenLR75 in Quick question about best way to freeze 1/2 remaining roast chicken breast
I feel at my age I should know this but I've never been in the position of having 1/2 a grocery store's roast chicken left over.
I took 1/2 of one breast/white meat and made pureed chicken salad. Am not feeling up to doing more right now - feeling clammy and dizzy but very PROUD that I made something!! And got the very pureed chicken salad into my 2 ounce disposable containers. Have SIX and 1/2 from just one side of the chicken!
BOOM! Mind blown!! Any quick tips on whether I should slice the other part of the breast up, dice it..add broth to it..or anything that needs to be done as a prelude to freezing it? Also, freeze in tupperware or a freezer Ziploc style bag.
Thank you!

My first “meal”was cream of wheat then scrambled eggs. Never been happier to eat something not liquid.

I was placing an order for some shakes on the Bariatric Advantage web site yesterday and I saw this:
"Chicken Soup flavor available to ship late November."
So if you don't like sweet shakes, it looks like they will have a solution soon. They are accepting pre-orders.

tahoetwin reacted to KathF in Reflux or nausea
Thanks all, as soon as I stand up and burp I feel better. I didn’t east within 3 hours of sleep last night I slept propped up a bit and took my reflux pill called Pantoprazole as soon as I woke up and I was able to go back to sleep.
The surgeon said that my reflux pill will be needed for about a month, maybe longer, just see how it goes.
Thanks for all your support 😄

I'm doing pretty good. I'm nervous. Not for the surgery but I respect it's a big life change. I am so excited to get my old body back before my accidents. I think I have almost all of my meal prepping done for after the surgery. My biggest struggle is everything is sweet and I'm not a big sweet eater. Thank you for asking.

I am scheduled for 11/18. I did everything I needed now just doing the diet required. I have lost 13lbs in ther 2 &1/2 weeks so far. I start the liquid diet next week and am dreading that lol I have been making my own chicken Bone Broth instead of store bought broth. I am struggling with the shakes because I'm not a big sweet eater. Has anyone found any liquid diet things that make it a bit easier? I'm very happy to have found so many people going through the same thing. I'm so excited to hear about your journey's.

I just had my consult and started my nutritionist appointments for the Gastric Sleeve. I have shared my decision with a couple of friends. Today was the first time a friend stopped taking to me because of it. She is VERY fit and skinny. It made me wonder if she was my friend because I was fat. I decided I'm doing this for me and don't need anyone's approval or permission. Man it still hurts though. I'm sorry that happened to you.
