  1. I had the Psych eval, the nutrition class and then pre-op tests (they did several things, I was at the hospital for about 2 hours). My whole process from the seminar to surgery was less than 2 months and that was only because I was waiting for school to be out for summer. Good luck to you! If you have any other questions, let me know!
  2. Hi Tori! Congrats on taking this step in your life! I was banded June 17th of last year and have lost 131 pounds. It's been the best thing I've ever done for myself. I was self pay, so I can't tell you how long it may take as my process was pretty quick. I have the AP band and haven't had any issues. Good luck!!
  3. Hi Karen! I had surgery last June and also used Richmond Surgical Group (Dr. Elliott was my surgeon). I love him and the staff. They are great! The band has truly changed my life. I do everything I'm supposed to and have made many life changes, but I can't imagine life without it. Good luck to you!
  4. Allie, your pics are AMAZING! Girl, you look awesome!!! Isn't it amazing the difference a year makes??? I find myself thinking that so much lately. Where I was this time last year and where I am now...WOW!
  5. Vinnie, congrats on your surgery date. June 17th will be my one year bandiversary. It's been one of the best years of my life. A definite journey...one I'd take over again in a heart beat! I wish you all the success in the world! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!! Jennifer
  6. Allie, I'm right there with you. My 10 month bandiversary was this past Friday the 17th. I told the doctor when I saw him for my fill on Friday that I would have never in a million years, dreamt this would have been this succesful. It's truly a blessing. I often wonder why I didn't do this sooner!!! Congrats to us all...wonder how much we have all lost together. Wouldn't that be fun to find out Have a great evening!
  7. I just posted on the Daily News thread that it looks like I'm all okay. Thanks so much for all of your prayers!!!
  8. Hey guys! We'll I've been having some issues the last two days. I've been unable to keep anything (except for water and soup) down. I called the doctor on call today and he thinks it sounds like my band has slipped. I've been pretty emotional as I feel like I have done everything right. I did have some issues a while with being too full and then throwing up, so maybe that's what did it. He told me to call first thing in the morning to get an appointment. If you could say a prayer that if it is a slip, it's not bad and it can be fixed through a couple of weeks of liquids. I am self-pay and don't know what I'll do if God forbid I have to have another surgery. The thought of something wrong and them having to take my band brings tears to my eyes. I feel like you all are truly the only ones who understand. Thanks in advance! Love you guys!
  9. Hey Katy! I was diagnosed a little over a year ago with adult ADD and take Adderoll every morning. I've never noticed any symptoms like you are describing. I have had to lower my dosage as I've lost weight, but that's about it. Hope you get everything straight!!
  10. Have any of you purchased a medical bracelet to wear that says you've been banded? I ran across the pamphlet on medical bracelets that I got before I was banded and realized I hadn't purchased one. They aren't ugly, but I'm not really sure I want to wear it (but will if I should). Just wondering what you all thought. Happy Thanksgiving!!
  11. Ok, so I went shopping today with my sister and we went in B. Moss. I decided to try on some shirts. I was in a 22/24 shirt before surgery and today I actually bought 2 XL shirts and 1 L. I was so excited to buy clothes from a normal store. Oh, and we went to the movies today, I fit in the seat and didn't rub the arm rests. I love my band!!!
  12. I'M SINGING YOUR SONG, I'M SINGING YOUR SONG!!!!! I got on the scale this morning and I am down 50 pounds exactly. I LOVE my band!! The feeling of being in control is the best ever!!!
  13. CONGRATS! I'm hoping to be singing your song next week! I'm down 48...only 2 more to go till the big 50
  14. Ok Yvonne, here it is  For my shakes I used either the Carnation Instant Breakfast sugar free ones (they are in a blue bottle or packet, I used the bottles as they were easier) and the Slim Fast High Protein Shakes. Breakfast: A shake Lunch: A shake and a small apple Snack: a light yogurt Dinner: 2 pieces of whole wheat light bread (I used Weight Watchers bread) and 4 ounces of lean deli meat (I used Hilshire farms in the gladware with a red top). I also drank 1 cup of V8 juice. I drank lots of Water throughout the day. It wasn't fun, but wasn't awful either. You can put mustard on your sandwich at night (not mayo though). I liked toasting the bread every now and then to change things up. I hope this helps. Like I said, I lost 17 pounds in two weeks doing it. I stuck to it 100%. Keep us updated on how you are doing!! Jennifer
  15. No problem  I'll be glad to share the diet my surgeon had me on, but it changes from one surgeon to the next. I wouldn't see why he wouldn't be okay with you maybe doing it from now until your surgery. If you stick to it, the pounds will fall off. Let me know what you find out!!
