  1. welcome to the forum @Shanto. You have just spent your money wisely !!! This is the best tool you could have. as long as you follow your surgeon and nutritionalist instructions to a T you will do great. I don't know if you have a ongoing nutritionalist or not since you are self pay just stay on this forum ask any questions ,read other people questions and responses . drinking Water, water, water is the most important thing you do right now and of course walk a lot to get rid of the gas . stick with us and you will do just fine. Again Welcome and feel free to message people and ask questions.... just remember everyone's journey is different and do not judge your progress by anyone else's.....

I understand now, thanks. I’m actually having ESG, so there are no incisions. They put an endoscope down your throat and make the sleeve from the inside. It was one of the reasons I was attracted to this option, minimally invasive. It’s the same type of thing they do for an upper GI test. That’s the only reason my husband got on board too. But thank you so much for the reply. I am assuming my midsection will still be sore because they are stitching the stomach together, even though it’s in the inside. I’ll take my pillow with me just in case.

ohhhh I see well .you wont need it then I don't think , This is cool... much much success . keep us posted,,, and don't leave the forum, its packed with lots of good information with all kinds of situations .

Thanks so much for the encouraging words. Maybe it’s because I’m having a different surgery, but I’m not following what you mean by the little pillow?

if you are having the sleeve surgery there will be little incisions on your stomach which makes it painful to cough, sneeze lay etc..

if you have your little pillow you could put it under your incision and lay more comfortably on your side if you are a side sleeper also it cushions your stomach when you sneeze, cough, etc....

So I’m not sure about everyone else but I am 2 weeks out from surgery. Every plan is different but my surgeon doesn’t want me tracking anything except for fluids. I am on full liquids for almost another week. She has straight told me she isn’t worried about Protein yet until I get to actually eating foods.
this may be different than your plan but I feel like we are all trying to follow our specific plans for this stage. With us being a month or less out from surgery, I’m sure we all have different requirements than you at this point.
having said all that, I have heard that Baritastic is a good app for tracking and I have it downloaded for when I’m ready for it!

yes you are correct Water is the most important right now.. I tried to give general thoughts going forward . follow the instructions from your team .Tracking will come. congratulations and have a great journey:)

Thank you all for your inspirational pictures and notes. Yesterday I went for my six month post op in my first new outfit since my surgery. You all look so fabulous I can’t even imagine looking nearly as wonderful as you all do.

I started my adventure into healthy living at a starting weight of 315 pounds in 2017. Due to unforeseen circumstances was unable to get surgery until August 2019. I managed to lose 35 pounds in two years so weighed in at 280 on the morning of my surgery.

i have been on a plateau for two weeks and relied on all your postings to keep the frustration at bay. I had wanted to. E out of the 200s by my appointment and weighed in at 200.4 yesterday. Close but no go. Dr. Luc advised he was very happy with my progress.
Then this morning, I waved goodbye to the two hundreds.
Thank you for all the support you offer by sharing your adventure and results.

I feel the same way... I don't know if I regret this or not.

It is much too early for that... hang in there . I felt the same way but it will quickly change .. you will be so amazed.. just follow the instruction , make it your purpose in life right now the drink as much Water as you can. the things you can have now are lilmited for a reason ,stick to it ...your time to change it up will come . be patient and remember it took time and bad eating habits to get us here and it's gonna take time and good eating habits to take us where we want to go.... Don't complain to yourself just encourage yourself and Celebrate everyday you are closer to your promised land. I only regret I didn't do this 10 or 20 years ago......

  11. Everyone seems to be doing all the right things. Good job .However I haven't read where anyone is tracking EVERYTHING you eat or drink on a tracker.. This is soooo important to food accountability for every stage .. I use BARITASTIC it is easy and fantastic. download the app it's free and start tracking so you not guessing how much Protein, Water, food etc.... you are putting in your body... Carry on and Good luck......

  12. oh my you have such a thrilling ride ahead of you once you get through the first few weeks. everyone experience is different but one thing is universal which is follow your nutritonalist and surgeon's instructions to the absolute T.. no joke. you will have some good days and some bad days but hang in there and try not to complain to yourself instead encourage yourself and speak positive to yourself . Once your mind is thinking good and positive things your behavior will follow... remember not to judge your progress by anyone else's on this forum and for goodness sake do stay here on this forum it will lead you to the promised land. Good luck, God's speed in your recovery and keep us posted!!!! Don't forget your little pillow .

  13. stop beating yourself up relax..... breathe...…. you are doing okay... this is not a race and you are doing this for you so stop concentrating on whether or not you letting "others " down . The best way to honor their support is to relax , follow your nutrition rules drink Water like a crazy person eat Protein like you insane and sit back and watch the results... have fun... enjoy this new and bestest (made up word) chapter which is life according to the gospel of @summertime819

  14. My little pillow was the best thing I took. I took that little pillow and placed it on the bed where my biggest and most painful incision was and layed right on my side (side sleeper) right on it and slept like a baby . Don't be shy to ask for your pain meds..:68_sleeping:
