Hello everyone, 2 days post op and finally feeling like posting. I woke up to pain in the recovery room which was quickly treated. The first day was a bit rough I felt uncomfortable and overwhelmed. Day 2 was much better the walking definitely helped with passing the gas and helped with the pressure in my abdomen area. Drinking from the medicine cups helps since they are 1 ounce I am sticking to tiny sips and ice chips. Tomorrow I will introduce the shakes into my diet, I have to admit I am nervous because so far I have only felt uncomfortable after drinking too much too fast (slow down) but hopefully I can keep down the Protein. I have had a headache all day, probably lack of sleep the hospital staff comes in every few hours to check on me. I had an out of the area surgery so I was discharged to my hotel today. I am looking forward to sleeping all night and hopefully feeling better tomorrow. Physically I am not hungry however looking at food makes me really sad, I didn't expect to feel this way. When we arrived to the hotel my husband went to have dinner and I went with him to walk a bit, I was surprised at the huge wave of emotion and tears that followed when smelling the food and watching other people eat. I stayed because I didn't want to ruin his dinner after all he stayed at the hospital with me since day 1 sleeping on a cot that looked rather uncomfortable. Looking forward to a better day tomorrow best piece of advice for everyone is slow sips of Water and walk, walk, walk. Thanks for being such a supportive group.

This was cool for me. This surgery for me, wasnt just about losing the weight, but also about getting the body i always wanted. Im far from being there but im really starting to see results. I finally have shoulders and arms! I started crossfit 10 days after surgery. Mixed with running this is what ive stuck to and the results are really starting to show. Im 222 now but im also building muscle and still cutting the weight. I always do monthly progress pics and i decided to flex a little. I was shocked myself. I even had the two top abs. I couldnt believe it. I always wanted definition and its really starting to show, Im glad i could do this, while still cutting the weight. Cant wait to see what i look like at 199.

Hi all, I am now nearly 48 hours post op band to mini bypass. Band removal and bypass done at the same time. All has gone well. There was pain but it was well managed and tolerable. There was also a small bit of nausea. The first day I ate/drank nothing. The second day after bloods and X-ray, I was allowed Water. Today, the drain was removed (along with most of the pain) and I was given a tray with tea, Dutch crispbake with butter/jam and a yogurt. No issues with any of it.
My surgery was done by Dr. Chris DeBruyne in Belgium, I cannot recommend him and his team highly enough. Now, to learn to use my tool to the best advantage, I’m looking forward to it :)

I bought one of my favorite dresses from ModCloth when it recently went on sale. I had this in red in a 3x, and wore it all the time. I gave that one away in June. This one is a size L. And it gives off a totally different vibe for some reason.

Hi everyone, just wanted to Pop in and give an update. I was sleeved yesterday around noon EST so still under 24 hours post op.
Everything went wonderfully, I was on Clear Liquids just a few hours after, tolerating well. Pain is honestly petty minimal for me, I’d have to say a 4 on a scale of 10 is the worst I’ve felt. I had my last pain meds at midnight and since my pain is even more minimal now (1-2) . I have a lot of pressure in my abdomen but In weird spots. Lower right and at my sternum. Incision areas aren’t painful. Been walking walking to move the gas through ( quite successfully) haha!
Best wishes to those still go on their surgery’s and a quick and speedy recovery to those who are on the other side! 🙂

While we are waiting for updates from our ppl who had surgery today/this week...I've got some updates, I decided to start packing my hospital bag tonight. I needed a distraction from hunger and nerves, lol. I've purchased something loose to wear to the hospital, lounge wear for after surgery (for home), Gas-X, Tums, Mederma, lightly scented hand sanitizer (I'm a germaphobe), extra unscented chapsticks, a cute little basket to put supplies in by my different areas in the house. I'm a over planner, I prefer to be over prepared instead of underprepared. I'm not going to carry supplies from room to room. I'd rather have little stations set up, pillows to prop up and shoes by the door for short walks. I'm getting antsy.....ready for my pre-op Friday at least, I have a million questions for my surgeon.
On a side note: Thank you guys for letting me ramble on and on..

Hi guys!!! I’m a little over 24 hours post op. This is my first surgery ever in my life. I went in really nervous woke up so fright and out of it that I regretted it because I couldn’t hold my crying baby. The pain was not in my incisions it was all over my body like I had gotten beat up. Drinking the 4 oz of Water with one oz being Protein. My hospital uses ensure protien max. They do NOT recommend the regular ensure. Only the low fat and carb protein max. I have to say it was rather tasty. And I don’t like protein drinks at all. The nausea patch behind your ear creates extreme dry mouth. I brushed my teeth often and it helped but didn’t go away. It’s starting to subside now. I had my surgery 01/14 at 6pm and was released home 01/15 at 3pm. So less than 24 hours. And I love being home!!!!!
If anyone has any questions I would love to answer them?

I have surgery tomorrow. I am scheduled for the afternoon. I wish it was for the morning. I am to report to surgery at 3pm. They said they may call me in early. I am packing tonight. Cleaning house again today. Washing sheets. Our 4 month old is also staying in the hospital with us so I am packing for him also. I have been on an all clear liquid diet for 48 hours and OMG it has cleaned me out!!! I also have a really bad headache tonight. We also got surprise guest that said they will be passing through either tonight or early morning :/ I don’t want to be rude but I hope they make there visit fast. I have kept my surgery private. So yea just a little nervous for surgery this is my first surgery and I just don’t know what to expect.
Good luck everyone. I will try to update or answer any questions after surgery once I can wake up properly.

Good luck to all the January bunch who have surgery this week! I can't wait to hear how everyone is doing. ❤️
My surgery is still 2 weeks away, so I started my pre-op diet today which is much, much milder than most of the pre-op diets I've read about on here. My diet includes small, healthy, high Protein, low fat meals, no high- sugar fruits, refined carbs, sodas, etc., then fasting after 8pm the day before surgery. It's interesting how doctors have so many different guidelines!
Congrats Jeslpayn on losing 10 lbs in 2 weeks! 😊

Ok, so I wanted to show you guys a before and after of my boob cuz I just have the biggest crush on them.
    However.
Bare boobs are like 18+, so I tried to de-XXX it by putting a little censoring flower-sticker on the image...BUT it hides what I think is the best part of it (the perky tip!, lol). Soooo...I instead put a cartoon filter on it, so it looks less real and more like an "artist's rendition". Hopefully this is not offensive to anyone. If it is, please let me know and I will remove it.
Anyhoo...I was going to include a link to the photo here, but it shows a preview, and I don't want to surprise anyone coming to this thread with a gratuitous boob shot. So if you want to take a look:
go to my Profile (ms.sss) go to Albums and you can see it in the album titled "ms.sss PS pics (xxx)" Image Caption: Notice the flat, saggy, spread-to-the-sides-of-my-body pancake-y shape of the BEFORE boob with flat wrinkly nipple VS the perky, gravity-defying 16-yrs old-ish AFTER boob w/ stand-at-attention-nipples, LOL. The line you see under the AFTER boob is not a skin-wrinkle nor fold, its my incision line, so It sorta makes it look like its resting on my torso, but in the real life picture, you would be able to see that its staying up there all on its own.

I started weight watchers and a membership with 24 hour fitness for the new year. It has taken a week but I am finally seeing results. I am so happy the scale is finally moving because I am not eating a lot at all and since my surgery, my tastes for certain foods have changed. My first goal weight is 190 and I can't believe I'm almost there. I just wish this arthritis wasn't so bad because I would love to do more. For now I ride a bicycle, and then I sit in the steam room. Then I finish by relaxing in the whirl pool. So far so good.😀

I covered up my hideous face and tried to take this at an angle where the light would let it sparkle, but it didn’t work out too good. Definitely need to work on this bra sitch, but here it is from a couple of angles! What do you think? We may go on a cruise in March and I’ll take it along then.

Hello everyone, I had my surgery on the 26th of February 2016... Almost four years now!

I just wanted to show that it's possible to maintain your weight even after a few years... I'm happy with the decision I made even though I was only 23 back then. It changed many aspects of my life, mostly in a very good way!
    Here are some "before pics":

Here are some pics from my 2019/2020 trip to Slovakia (I did Celebrate new year's eve with nice drinks, oops):

If I can be useful or answer any question, don't hesite to ask me anything

Completed my pre op yesterday Jan 8. They gave me the body cleanse, took blood, vitals, and went over everything for day of surgery (Jan 14). I also made my two week pre op appointment and receive the days for the 1 week post op nutrition class. I also got approved for my husband and son to stay in the hospital with me. I knew hubby could but was unsure of our son he’s only 14 weeks old. So now I have to pack for myself, hubby, and baby. For the hospital stay. We are all really excited. I am also slacking on shopping and prepping. So I will be a busy bee these next couple of days!!!
  25. Congrats!
