  1. Yes I understand. Was just curious what’s down the road for me
  2. Yes I’m designated driver too. I usually order from app menu or just side dish if it has protein. Many times everyone pays for me to offset gas- don’t mean bodily gas as that is discussed a lot from Bariatric family!
  3. Gorgeous dress!
  4. Good to know. I feel you can almost substitute any food with something else. But if I go out for drinks there is no alcohol or carbonated beverages so idea of just drinking water or Virgin Mary doesn’t cut it.
  5. You can drink all that alcohol? I’m only 2.5 months out & only thing I will miss down the road is alcohol. My surgeon told me not to have for at least year & then minimal.
  6. Sounds similar to mine where couldn’t have solid food til week 4. That’s why I questioned week 2 having solid. hopefully all good for you & it’s working
  7. You could eat solid food after only 2 weeks Of surgery? According to my plan I couldn’t try solid food week til 4. I’m 2+ mos out now. I still can only eat one egg. Had breakfast out & ordered 1 poached egg. Had it on top of slice tomato & Canadian bacon.
  8. I’m a northerner so gotcha! I’ve had chili several times with no issue. But not until at least 5-6 weeks after surgery. I’m very careful what I eat- how I eat & when I eat. I’m real fearful of getting sick.
  9. I wouldn’t bless her heart. That was plain stupid & sabotaging surgery. Why go thru this & not follow plan. Hope she learned lesson or she is doomed for failure and/or do real damage to herself. And I’m 2 months out & my nutritionist says I can try cauliflower crusted vegetable pizza. And I’m nervous to do that!
  10. Salad is one of last food my nutritionist says we should eat. I never order from regular menu anymore. At least at this stage which is 8 weeks out. I order from appetizers or sides. My dinners cost $10-$20. If really want to try something usually friends eating out with offer taste if it’s something I can eat.
  11. You didn’t get sick from ice cream cake?
  12. Had sleeve 9/23. I planned what I would need to bring for Thanksgiving. Only thing that I could eat was dark meat turkey which was delicious & no problem going down. Since I couldn’t eat regular cranberry due to sugar I brought sugar free Smucker’s raspberry preserves. Made & brought riced cauliflower/broccoli with cheese sauce. Added some Parmesan & delicious. For dessert I brought sugar free chocolate pudding. Totally satisfied. I’ve lost 35 pounds & feeling good.
  13. Had sleeve 9/23. I had constipation Forever! When I did go every 3 days hurt like anything. Got ok to continue with my sugar free Metamucil that I drink every AM. Then for couple of days took full dosage of 3 tablets of stool softener- NOT laxative. Now I take daily dosage of 1 tablet every night. So much better. And of course I‘m now able to add a little vegetables when I eat my protein. Just remember 1st 3 months toughest. It will get better. You will feel & look better before you know it!
  14. Hi- I had my sleeve 9/23. I experienced great deal of pain after surgery & I normally have high tolerance to pain. One incision in particular hurt for so long. Up to 6 weeks. My Dr & nutritionist said I would probably not feel like myself for 3 months. But I feel fine now. Doesn’t program where you had surgery have people to follow up with? Mine has weekly support groups, access to nutritionist, psychologist & more whenever needed. And also google questions so get wide range of information. Hang in there but would be in touch with your surgeon. Happy Thanksgiving!
  15. Reading others struggles puts things in perspective for me. I’ve lost 17 lbs in 4 weeks with scale not moving. I have to be careful not to compare to others who have lost much more. I’m 65 & sure most are younger & will lose faster. Also still have a lot of pain from one inside suture. Probably heal slower too compared to younger ones.
  16. Good to hear. GSB was on Monday. 1st 3 days terrible. Each day drop better. One day at a time.
  17. Gotcha. I just read not to have lemonade due to acid. Obviously go by your surgeon
  18. Check about crystal lite lemonade flavor. I was told only this flavor wasn’t good to use
  19. So you didn’t show weight loss after 1st week cause of water? I held water in until 3rd day. Going home today. 1st day actually feeling better
  20. Thanks. I’ll check with my surgeon
  21. Thanks so much for feedback. What is binder?
  22. Had surgery Monday 9/23. A lot more painful than expected. Trying to walk as much as possible but getting in & out of bed is excruciating
