LOL you are right! the keyboard letters are not mirrored...now why did I think they were?

Ok, now I've got another mystery for you. in the Before pics, my left hand had the IV in it.....and I took both sets of pictures with the same phone...

    ????????

Hahaha... it's a mystery for sure!! 😛 Those IV opioids are pretty dang good stuff hahahahaha

laughing with... laughing with hehehe, not trying to be a SmartyPants, it's funny I work in hearing, and the amount of times I will tell someone when testing them that they will hearing the sounds in their right ear first... only to have them stop the test and say, "it's in my left... " me check equipment, no definately your right.. "oh that is my right... oh sorry..." lol hahaha

Lol, i had to do a double take too. Phone cameras don't mirror image subjects like regular cameras do. Look at the letters on my keyboard...

It's not mirrored no, but they are left on the left and right on the right... the keyboard is as normal and the hands are on it in the normal positions...not right on the left and left on the right as marked hehehehe when you look at the hands with the palms down the left hand has the thumb on the right of the hand and the right has the thumb on the left of the hand, they face each other inwards...

Hand swelling comparison Day 1 (morning after surgery) vs today, Day 9 (they are almost back to normal, but not quite)

One of my nurses in the hospital joked that my left hand looked like a blown up surgical glove.

That looks so painful, my hubby has an allergy that if he is exposed does that instantly to his hands.. scary stuff!!

Ummmmm.... you sure those are correctly labelled left and right? Lol..

Flying to meet my Boo out of state, then straight to dinner with friends. He hasn’t seen me since my plastics. Hopefully this will be a good first impression

Boobs high and looking fake af (not that most men care). Very swollen belly! Tights and booty panties to help hide my raised incision line (and my granny panty line 😫)

Wow, you look great! Boobs do make your waist look very tiny and waspy! :D That skirt is so cute I love it, as is the whole outfit, really works!

BF is going to be blown away for suuuure :D

Get comfortable, this is a long one...

Wow, what a lot you had done in the end, funny haha about the gum comment, "oh yeah chuck in the TT too" haha but sounds like it is all working out really well and you are recovering beautifully!

Keep getting better and keep us updated! :D

Your hospital food looks heaps better than poor @sillykitty was served but still not super tasty or fresh healthy nom noms!

Dang.... you're super skinny @FluffyChix The top and pants look good, a lovely statement necklace or scarf maybe? I personally not so sure about the cape, it seems very big on you.

I came across probably the only picture I have of me at my highest weight (the day after my VSG surgery in 2013). I'm pretty sure I deleted all the others. I avoided the camera for many years. So I put them side by side with my revision surgery (9/2019) and me at my current weight. It really opened my eyes though. And while I still might not be "skinny" I'm finally happy. It took awhile to get here. I didn't ever get down to my goal weight with VSG. I was more concerned with getting the weight off and keeping it off without regaining. And I would always either lose weight or maintain. Now that I know I can keep the weight off, I can finally focus on my goal weight. I'd be perfectly happy only losing another 20ish lbs. My goal was never to be super skinny but to be healthy and able to keep up with my son. To take him camping, hiking and fishing every summer like I did as a kid. Every time I see this picture at my largest I'm still shocked I was ever that size.

    HW: 326lbs

    CW: 192lbs

Ahhhhmazzzing! You look wonderful, and glad to hear you are happy with yourself now and finally almost done, I guess it has been a pretty long journey to get here!

Official Christmas outfit for varies holiday events this past weekend and next... Thankfully, guests are from different groups or organizations - SO I won't be caught wearing the same dress twice. Haha. Today is my One Year surgery anniversary. What a difference a year makes. I am amazed to be wearing a size 8 dress here. It is totally mind boggling. AND, there is now space between my knees and I can see my shoes! Fun.

    IMG_1008.jpeg

I absolutely love that dress! gorgeous pointsettia print, very much my style... although a size 8 wouldn't fit me hahahaha - yet (still not had surgery) but I might have to do a @GreenTealael and raid your closet when I'm at goal!! hee hee

Glad to see the Aussies posting more. 🇦🇺

@ms.sss & @DaisyChainOz I lived in New Farm for about 14 yrs then bought a few hundred metres down the road in Teneriffe 5 yrs ago. Brisbane is such a fantastic city to live. Still small enough that people know each other & doesn’t take hours to get from one side of the city to the other but it’s big enough to have great dining, theatre, shopping, sports, ...

Blair Bowden at the Wesley did my surgery @DaisyChainOz He did my friend’s surgery & she recommended him. My GP said she’d heard nothing but good things about him. He was great. After the surgery he gave me a picture of my stomach all marked up before it was removed as a souvenir 🤣. It may be easier for all the post surgery visits to use a Bris Dr.

@Sophie7713 you look so bright & cheery in your Christmas party dress and look how great you are looking.

Teneriffe is a great place to live, I adore those old warehouse convertion apartments, so much to do in the inner riverside suburbs of Bris, I miss it heaps and the river.. and jumping on a CityCat going to GOMA or Riverside but hubster is happier out here *sigh*

Thanks for the recommendation, I will try to make an appointment and see how we go, but as I am starting a new job in Jan I can't take the needed time off till mid year next year unfort.

  10. Soooo... I have moved states quite unexpectedly 4 weeks ago, I was headhunted for a job in my home city - so after much tooing and froing decided to take the job near home.

Which means I either need to find a new surgeon in my home city, or go with the team I saw (who I really liked) but have to stay interstate for a week or two post surgery and then do follow ups etc flying into that city.

The surgeons here charge about $5k more than I have been quoted (guess there is more competition in the other city) and I don't know any or have any recommendations here.

    It's a bit of a dilemma.

Anyone have a surgeon in Brisbane, Australia that they would recommend?

    @DaisyChainOz ! @Arabesque !

(pardon me if I already told you this, but I can't remember if I did...) I consider myself an former honourary Brisbane resident myself! Almost 10 years ago, we lived there for a little over a year. Kangaroo Point for a couple months, then New Farm for the rest.

Mr. has been saying we will go back again at some point, but we haven't found the time yet. Soon, I hope ❤️

Hey, I don't think you did say before, that is cool that you lived in Brisbane for a while, those are great areas, we lived in West End and then Bulimba which was great fun, but we bought a place a bit further out in the Bayside area, nice and peaceful here, with lovely bay breezes to cool the place off, but I still miss being that close to the city and commuting to work via the CityCat ferries was Ah-maz-ing, compared to Sydney where I lived most of my life, Brisbane is a great city, very much under rated imho, we have several friends who have moved here in the last few years.

I hope you do get to come back one day, if so let us know we can have a BP meet up haha...

I have always wanted to go to Canada, maybe one day!

@Arabesque which surgeon did you use? would you recommend them? I had my prelim stuff done in Sydney as I was living and working in NSW up until 3 weeks ago, and was planning on staying there, but stuff happens LOL and I have a new job starting Jan here in Bris so need to find a new surgeon to get things happening, or decide to stay with my Sydney guy.. hmmm. Sorry probably should have PM'd you, don't want to hijack the best thread on the board!!!

Keep posting the wonderful inspiration peeps!!!

I went shopping today and tried a skirt on that had a fit I am not usually confident in. But, I think with some Shapewear I can pull it off.

Perfect look for you Angie, love love love that leopard print skirt, black tight top and long black boots, really winning combo. Oh... and you are looking really slim now!!!! :D Thank you so much for posting your pics during your journey it really does help for those of us waiting to get the surgery!

I’ve enjoyed this thread so much & decided to be brave and upload some images from the last month. Summer here hence the strappy dresses. Oh yeah, I’m a bit partial to black. Ha!
The day I reached my goal weight about five weeks ago. Off to the theatre to see my niece who dances with a contemporary dance company.

Two weeks ago. Ignore the unmade bed. At my mother’s before going to my two 6yr old nieces’ first ballet concert - lots of skipping around in circles.

Just around the house today. Super casual. Still have thighs 😜. Four kg below my goal weight. So much for maintaining.

Wowsers!!! Hey fellow QLD resident (Brizzy here) Arabesque, you look amazing!!! Congratulations girl :D

  13. Gosh, what a total rollercoaster, you poor thing!

The Dr I saw who referred me couldn't be more supportive, she is quite young and totally across all the latest knowledge of metabolic syndrome and various other things making "natural" weight loss very hard, she told me that a number of her patients had WLS with very good results. I would be gutted if she suddenly did a 180 and said now I don't support it, don't do it etc.

In your case it sounds like her "boss" has been the one to influence her against it, possibly for her own reasons unknown to you.

Well, I definitely had these symptoms pre-op but only a couple of days a week and it is common for trauma such as operations to make it worse, something to do with the autonomic system... So it seems likely. Having a pretty good day today, I showered and am eating a quick curry I made AND my blood pressure and pulse were much better than usual so quietly excited the meds are starting to work :D

So glad to hear you are having a better day today! Woohoo :D

Well let's hope it is the new meds, and fingies crossed it keeps on improving!

Sheez girl, 35kg in 3 months is amazing, you deffo want to be able to enjoy that :D

Thanks, my darling, :780_sparkling_heart:yes it sucks. I have been so unwell I am going for a week plus not getting out of my pj's even.

My weight loss has been fab and I feel too unwell to revel in it you know? I bought a sewing machine so I could upcycle most of my clothes but can't even attempt any resizing/cutting/sewing grrrr

The waiting list for the test is a couple of months, so I am hoping the meds at least get me feeling well enough that I can get dressed and even go to the shops now and then, or even just feel well enough to stand and cook for the family. ;)

Wowsers babe, I am sure it does suck the life out of the universe, but sounds like your medical team are onto it, so stay strong!

Awesome re the weight loss, and aren't you clever to be able to alter your own clothes!! haha.. not something I would attempt having zero talent with sewing lol, but great idea and you will get to it when you can. Right now you need to get well and stay positive :)

I wonder if the surgery triggered this or if it was going to come on now anyway?
