I am doing well thank you! On purees now, which is great after weeks of liquid, feeling good, learning my limits and healing nicely! I have not lost a lot of weight for a week, but am taking that in my stride, desperately close to.my first mini goal, but not quite there yet! Overall going very well, I can see the differences already, clothes are starting to hang off me! ๐ Thanks for asking, how are you doing? -
Crying during yoga? ๐ค
DaisyChainOz replied to Bypass2Freedom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yoga can be very cathartic! It may have been disconcerting and maybe a touch embarrassing in the moment, but the yoga teacher would have seen it before. It's a good thing to feel that release. ๐ -
possible to stall after 9 day?
DaisyChainOz replied to DaisyChainOz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, it's not easy is it! I am trying to think of it as a learning experience, as in I am learning about what's going on with my body. Yes the numbers are disappointing for sure, but I want to be present for the process, the good, the bad and hopefully the not too ugly ๐ It's all part of this experience. Maybe hiding the scales will work for you, I know it wouldn't for me, but we're all different. ๐ค I hope you find peace with the scale.monster!! I hope I do too lol!! -
possible to stall after 9 day?
DaisyChainOz replied to DaisyChainOz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the detailed reply. It makes perfect sense that the loss is going on in spite of the lack of movement on the scales. My Dietician said the same to me yesterday at our first post surgery apt last night. I don't agree with the "don't weigh everyday" mantra myself. It would be no less disappointing or frustrating to find out after a week the scales haven't moved. for me it would be far worse!! YMMV of course. -
possible to stall after 9 day?
DaisyChainOz replied to DaisyChainOz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a bit of a follow up to this it seems it's is perfectly normal and to be expected. A friend who had the surgery last year sent me this when I was telling her I haven't lost for a week. Sorry I don't know the Author, or which site it is from. It did make me relieved to see its not that my surgery didn't work! Phew! -
Food - Keeping it interesting!
DaisyChainOz posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ok, so my pre Op plan allows for free grazing on low carb veggies, salad items etc, and one serve of healthy fat per day. So rather than munch on celery orcarrot sticks (which I do also love) I thought why not make them into a faux wrap with Lettuce and avo. I only ate one with broth for lunch, but wow it was great! Anyone else getting a bit creative with their diet? -

Still on fluids for a few more days, counting down til Thursday! Yesterday we went for a two hour drive to see some friends, had lunch out with them, there was pizza, hot chips with gravy, hubby had fish and chips on the table it didn'tworry me at all the others eating their yummy lunches! Luckily they had a clear wanton soup dish, so I had that and hubster got the wontons ๐ Today I made a darker version at home with added protein powder and fibre โบ๏ธ Deeeeeelish!! -

Well, I found out Magnesium laxative works! ๐ฅต The evil has left the building!! ๐๐ฅณ Thank you very much everyone, for the support, I woke up to find a 200gm (half poundish) drop today, so that's something!! I am looking forward to hitting my first mini goal this week (under 100kg) and am very close, so have been sweating it a bit!! -
possible to stall after 9 day?
DaisyChainOz replied to DaisyChainOz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the reply @ShoppGirl I know I shouldn't but it's a compulsion... and honestly if I *had* weighed myself every day back when I was slim...and taken action when my weight crept up in the first place... I wouldn't be here now ๐ I am NEVER going to not weight regularly again. Thank you @Arabesque, great advice and encouragement as always ๐ ffor double post above, I can't remove or edit it either. -

Hi, thanks for the reply yeah I know it's too early to be worried. TMI ahoy...Pretty sure it's the above!! ๐ฅด This has been a problem for sure! I had a truly awful bathroom visit this morning for an hour trying to birth something equivalent to Rosemary's baby ๐ฌ๐ฑ only the second time I've been since surgery. Still feeling somewhat blocked up, will get something strong to help. I know I shouldn't weight daily, and shouldn't expect to see a smooth downward projection on. the daily but my (not Dx'd) ADHD compels me lol -

Yes, the power outage was dreadful, we have never had power out for more than a few hours before, we managed fine, it's Summer here so no need for heating, and we managed to amuse ourselves - the food was the worse part! Not only did we lose all my Bari prepped food, but I have been food prepping for the others in the family too ... so much lost food. Our power company offer $250 compensation, it won't cover it all, but will help a bit. Makes you appreciate how dependent we are on our power!! -

6 days Post surgery update! Feeling great! ๐ฅณ no problems tolerating fluids *touch wood* I have had some delicious home made soup which I strained, red lentil and veggies made on home made bone broth is delicious! I had prepped a large amount of bone broth and soups for Post surgery, but we had a Natural Disaster level storm through, which took out our power for 3 days!!!!!!!!! Lost everything, so have had to make more. Tonight I thought I would try Thai flavours and a bit of spice to see how my tummy reacts. Had a few sips whilst making it, and no dramas! Red curry soup with powdered peanut butter and coconut milk. 141 cals for small bowl. Taking it very slowly in case my tummy rebels. -
Oh how exciting for you, that's a new goal for me now!

Made this tonight, it was so refreshing!! I skipped the parsley and subbed fresh mint, so good after all the creamy shakes!!

I haven't had that pulsing sensation, but it seems it's not un common, if you're concerned, maybe talk to your surgeon. I am 4 days post surgery, and I really feel amazingly good! No problems at all, touch wood! Not having any hunger, am spending all day just sipping little cups of this or that lol but managing well with it! From my home scales pre - post surgery I have lost 1.8 kg in 4 days! From hospital scales I was higher prior, but they weighed with shoes, clothes etc. SW 110 kg / 242 lb SDW 104.8 kg / 231 lb (Hospital 106.2 234.1) CW 103 kg / 227 lb -
