    Egg

You can make egg drop soup, boil your broth and drop a raw egg in that's been scrambled

    Coffee

I was given coffee in the hospital, so I continued to drink it. When I met with my nutritionist I asked if it had to be decaf, she said regular was fine.
  4. I would speak to your surgeon and nutritionist. I am 56 had my sleeve 8/15 and was back at work in 2 weeks. I could have gone back sooner but work in the school system so purposely planned it so I'd have 2 weeks off. Feel better.

    Ms

Honestly regretted it the first 3 days post op, but I'm not the best patient lol. Once I got past that I wouldn't have it any other way.

    Head hunger post op!!

Hang in there, it is temporary. I was dreaming of pizza and cheeseburgers in the hospital. The TV commercials were my worst enemy at home. 8f you can DVR your shows and fast forward past the commercials. I was hungry until I got to the pureed stage. It definitely will get better. Sip, sip, sip your water and protien shakes. I am 11 weeks out, obviously still haven't had that piece of pizza but down 45 lbs and am ok without it. Stay strong

    1 Year, Baby

Happy Surgerversary and congratulations on your major victory !!!! I am inspired !!!!
  9. Did my Wednesday weigh in last week and had a disappointing stall with no loss to report, not even an ounce. Did my Wednesday weigh in this morning (10 weeks post op) and the scale went down 4.5 lbs. However while in my stall week I wracked my brain as to how nor fret over my stall. In true fashion of being a David Letterman fan I decided to go old school and come up with a top ten list of things I've achieved since surgery pertaining to Non scale Victorys and not the number on the scale. Hoping everyone will post a few of their own. Here goes : 1. Actually realizing what full feels like for the first time in 57 years 2. Being able to buckle the airplane seatbelt without sliding the buckle to the very end 3. Being able to leave the bathroom after showering with only 1 bath towel wrapped around me instead of 2 4. Being able to tie my sneakers without being out of breath 5. Being able to easily zip last years winter coat and not having to buy a new one like the last few winters 6. Eagerly remembering to take the Fitbit off the charger to track steps and not leave it there for 3 or 4 days before remembering I haven't looked at it 7. Ordering the work team t-shirt and not having to pay the extra price for the sizes past XL 8. Being "that person" at lunch that actually orders the salad with grilled chicken instead of the cheeseburger and fries or tortellini alfredo after eating half the bread basket 9. Realizing you actually bought a piece of clothing because you liked it and not just because it was your size 10. Being able to sleep without waking yourself up with your own LOUD snoring Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I'm with you, I'm 10 weeks and only down 41, but came up with this to ponder
  11. Thanks Peggo ! I was so tempted to get on the scale this morning but promised myself Wednesdays only so I refrained. Plus I have a one month doc visit today so I will be weighed there. As for the egg salad I boiled 6 eggs, I out them in a pot of tap water, bring to a boil then cover, remove from heat and set time for 15 minutes. Rinse in cold water then let sit a few minutes in cold water with a few splashes of white vinegar (makes them easier to peel) I use an egg slicer putting them one direction then putting in the other direction. Or you could just chop them. I dices up about 3 stalks of celery then added celery seed, white pepper, and equal portions approx 1tbl spoon of each lowfat mayo, hummus, and dijon mustard. When my husband saw what I put in he made a face but let me tell you he actually liked it. I just wanted to cut the mayo. As for portions, I scooped it into 6 individual portions figuring each contained one egg. It was great for breakfast or lunch
  12. Good advice Deedee, I just hit 9 weeks and was disappointed with the scale yesterday (I only weigh on Wednesday) it was dead even with last week, not even an ounce down. I have been active with walking, dance, yoga and zumba so didn't expect to not lose. I started to eat real food this past weekend (until then was on stage 4) however I was away all weekend and eating out. Hence I didn't have my food scale and measuring cups at each meal. I did in fact make sure I packed my yogurt, protien shakes, cottage cheese and homemade egg salad. I guess I need to step up my steps. I thought my choices and portions were within range but I guess I thought wrong. Hoping to see a downward movement next week

Wine 2 days in a row

Thank you for sharing. I had been feeling so guilty but you all make me feel better. I was visiting my daughter out of state who just broke off a wedding engagement and we had some mother daughter wine, I am going on a girls weekend in November and would like to have a guilt free glass or 2

Wine 2 days in a row

Just 6 weeks out and away on vacation. Had wine 2 nights in a row but out the kabosh on that today. I have been beating myself up about it sabotaging my weight loss. I weigh myself only once a week so I will see Wednesday how much damage I did. Just can't get it out of my head. Anyone else experience this ?
  15. From my phone I would hit the box that says "quote" if you are responding specifically to 5hat given massage, type your response, then scroll down and hit the box labeled "submit reply" hope that helps
  16. I didnt plan accordingly for my lunch at work yesterday. I generally weigh and measure everything and plan ahead from the day before. I had been craving meatballs and since I didn't pack anything I had a "side order" of meatballs in a dish, not big not small so I figured I would eat 1 to 1 1/2 and save the rest for today n tommorow. I made the mistake of being on the phone while eating and apparently ate too much. This is the first time I have felt "FULL" since surgery and I can tell you I did not like it. I felt grossly sick for about an hour afterwards. I felt as if I was going to vomit, although I didn't it was a close call and I think I may have felt better if I had but I let nature take its course and didn't force it. I had a small piece of fish and some squash for dinner which I weighed and measured and felt fine thankfully. Lesson learned for sure, I never want that feeling again

    Finally felt full

Thank you, good luck to you too ! I actually do not have a list of caution foods, if you do and can share that would be great. I have read through some of the threads as to what doesn't sit well with everyone so If I were to make a list for myself I imagine the top things I would avoid would be fried foods, pasta, rice, breads and sweets. Lucky for me I am not a big fan of fried foods and sweets but being a CARBOHOLIC the pasta, rice and breads will be rough.

Wine 2 days in a row

Any problems? How much and how often have you had it and did it hinder your weight loss at all ?
  19. I take one 20mg before bed, so they gave me two 10mg pills in the hospital
  20. I do not have severe anxiety however I have a medical condition that is not user friendly to general anesthesia, I asked at my pre-surgical visit if I could take a xanax the morning of my surgery before coming to the hospital and I was told yes. I also discussed with my surgeon to have xanax put down as one of my meds so that if I needed it while in the hospital I could have it. I also take Lexapro and had no problem getting either since it was on my chart. Discuss it with both your surgeon and your nurse at pre-surgical. Good luck, breathe deep, try meditation as well.
  21. Wow good for you ! That's a great loss. I have clothes ranging from size 12 up to my current 16w and 18w so I can shop in my spare room closets however was getting a little down and bought a few fall things this week to perk me up.

    Finally felt full

Yes it was a horrible feeling, actually feel queasy just thinking about it, but thanks I am good now. I start "real food" next week 10/11 and I am actually getting nervous. I am thinking about staying with my soft foods somewhat longer, I guess we just have to take baby steps. Let's compare notes after next week
  24. Surgery was 8/15 did my weekly Wednesday weigh in yesterday and I am down 33lbs since surgery. I have been walking and started exercising as well as dancing and zumba. I just wish the scale showed a bit more of a loss. I also set aside a big rubbermaid bucket to put the "too big" clothes in for donation and somehow it is still empty. I was busting out of everything before surgery and now everything is very comfortable. I will just keep plugging along and hope to fill the bucket and see the scale go down.
