    Today is the day!

Wow sounds like you are holding your own, keep up the good work. In answer to the tiredness, I was tired for a few weeks but not anything like the first few days. Had my surgery on a Thursday and the following Friday (a week later, not the day after lol) I was cleaning out my entire linen closet, a week after that I went to Atlantic City for the weekend, walked and walked and walked the boardwalk. So I. One respect I had energy to do a lot but when I needed to close my eyes I did. Listen to your body, or knows what it needs and if it needs rest let it rest. Be well, keep us posted

    Medical ID Bracelets

thanks for the info, would we just list "gastric sleeve" on the bracelet ? I'm thinking I can combine it with my current one instead of wearing 2. Can you please share where you ordered from ? I've only used medic alert but would like some options if you were pleased with your purchase

    First Post Sleeve Thanksgiving Meals?

antipasto to start, which I had 1 shrimp, eggplant, cheese, salami, olive and broccoli rabe about 2 hrs later a small portion of bariatric butternut squash soup then an hour later 1 slice of turkey with a spoonful of stuffing, sweet potato, broccoli cheese casserole, creamed spinach and then an extra spoon of stuffing (first time having bread) and a few hours later a sliver of bariatric pumpkin pie. BEST MEAL since surgery. I skipped the crackers, biscuts, cranberries and other sides.
  10. Wow great accomplishment!

    Switching to soft foods

Just an FYI for those of you that are craving chicken, check with your surgeon first. I know all of our plans are different however even once I passed through the puree stage and moved into the soft food stage chicken was still a no no. I was allowed ground beef and ground turkey during soft foods but surgeon was strict about no chicken until after 6 weeks post op

    Protein Amount

I was drinking 2 per day, 1 for breakfast and one for a snack until 8 weeks then cut down to one, this was my docs plan.
  17. you may need a few more days, I just started to feel better on my 4th day of healing. Once I started to feel better there was no going back to the rough first few days but also wasn't ready for work. I had my surgery on a Thursday and would say I may have been work worthy the following Friday. I would also tell you to keep in mind that you will need to keep getting up and walking, you mentioned your job is sitting but too much sitting for too long is not good, you will need breaks to get up and do some laps every hour, hope everything works out for your days off
  18. I posted this a while back but thought I'd use it to answer your question, congrats to you, that is a great NSV Did my Wednesday weigh in last week and had a disappointing stall with no loss to report, not even an ounce. Did my Wednesday weigh in this morning (10 weeks post op) and the scale went down 4.5 lbs. However while in my stall week I wracked my brain as to how nor fret over my stall. In true fashion of being a David Letterman fan I decided to go old school and come up with a top ten list of things I've achieved since surgery pertaining to Non scale Victorys and not the number on the scale. Hoping everyone will post a few of their own. Here goes : 1. Actually realizing what full feels like for the first time in 57 years 2. Being able to buckle the airplane seatbelt without sliding the buckle to the very end 3. Being able to leave the bathroom after showering with only 1 bath towel wrapped around me instead of 2 4. Being able to tie my sneakers without being out of breath 5. Being able to easily zip last years winter coat and not having to buy a new one like the last few winters 6. Eagerly remembering to take the Fitbit off the charger to track steps and not leave it there for 3 or 4 days before remembering I haven't looked at it 7. Ordering the work team t-shirt and not having to pay the extra price for the sizes past XL 8. Being "that person" at lunch that actually orders the salad with grilled chicken instead of the cheeseburger and fries or tortellini alfredo after eating half the bread basket 9. Realizing you actually bought a piece of clothing because you liked it and not just because it was your size 10. Being able to sleep without waking yourself up with your own LOUD snoring

    so scared

Now that they know the problem you are on the road to recovery, although this isn't pleasant or expected and feels like hell, in a few weeks you will look back at this as a road bump in your journey and be on phase 2 of healing and ready for your weight loss journey. Sending positive vibes for your healing. Remember this part is temporary
