KishaG got a reaction from november11 in Doing weird things in the middle of the night?
First, I do not take ambien or any other controlled sleeping medicine.
The only new medicines I have been on since this started is ActiGall and Pepcid AC
Is anyone doing strange things in the middle of the night? I will "come to" and be sitting on the edge of my husbands side of the bed. No idea how I manage to do that Just sitting there. I will come into the dining room and be so out of it hubby says go back to bed and I will randomly pick something up off the table that I think needs to go to bed with me books, paper, bowls, silverware.
There have been a few nights that apparently I am doing into the garage and opening the garage door in the middle of the night.
Then theres this from last night I have no idea why I did this..but I am a little impressed I managed to make room in the fridge for it lol

I have been very depressed since I broke my ankle 2 weeks ago. 6 weeks of no weight on it was a devastating blow. I have been sitting here in a funk binge watching my 600lb life.
For the last 2 weeks I just kept thinking OMG I am going to stall sooo bad. My hubby kept encouraging me to get on the scale to keep up with my progress, so today I got past the fear of gain and HOLY CRAP 199 with my splint!!
I also bet another goal I finally weigh less than my hubby!!
This was the boost I needed today as they took my staples out and confirmed a month more of no weight on my ankle. Thankfully I'm not really capable of snacking or the last 2 weeks would have been horrible.

Well one thing I have quickly learned since being home from the hospital, using the knee scooter takes a lot of work. And I am going to have a very strong right leg lol

Monday night I was dizzy and collapsed right on my left ankle. Broke it in 3 different places. Had surgery on it on Tues. I can't put any weight on it for about 6 weeks. Going to have to figure out stuff to do either sitting or by using my knee scooter. This is the absolute suck.

My support system includes my Pain Management Dr and his staff. The girls are amazing last month they wanted to take a picture of me to compare it when I came back this month. So they took a new pic and one of them texted me the comparisons with a "You look AMAZING" attached to it. This is the first time I have seen a comparison shot of me and really makes me feel great as I can't see it when I look at myself. I love how I managed to find Dr's and their staff who are so amazingly supportive as well. Even my Dr was like WOW and commented maybe he should look into it kinda jokingly but he does not hide from the fact he is overweight and I love that about him. 37 lbs lost and oddly enough I am wearing the same damn bra in both pics LOL First one is Sept 4 2 weeks after surgery. 2nd one is today.

Did they ever try a standard mood stabilizer like lamictal? I take seroquel to help me sleep and for anxiety, but lamictal is what we use to stabilize my mood. Likewise, I have tried latuda only as an in addition to my anti-depressant not for my mood. Seroquel never made me gain any weight I take 200-300mg at night. Occasionally I'll take 4 but not often. Latuda was horrible for me I had one of the rare side effects. But 300mg of lamictal keeps me pretty much stabilized.
I hope they find the right combo for you.

Talk to your surgeon and the anesthesiologist about it. I didn't mention my anxiety I thought I could do it. FF to sitting in the pre-op area and all the goings on. The anesthisologist came in and I told him, he gave me a small dose - I explained to him that I had had a liver biopsy done and they gave me what he just did and it didn't work at all. So, he added to the dose for me. If you have anxiety meds, make sure you can take them and be honest during the pre-op phase. My anesthesiologist even worked through my clausterphobia (no oxygen mask)

    7 weeks out 36lbs lost

Daily Water intake = C- : I was doing really great with my Water intake, then I got sick and dehydrated still struggling to get enough now. It is very hard for me to drink for some reason.
Daily Protein intake = C : Again before I got sick I was 2 Protein Shakes a day easy. Now I struggle to get one down, I'm slowly getting better now that I can get more Protein from food- I have issues drinking, but noe with eating.
Food choice = B : I am very mindful of what I am eating. It is hard I am avoiding cravings daily-been craving McDonald's fries since 2 weeks out. I have NOT given in.
Portion Control = A+ : I eat very small portions, I go by what my ounces should look like. I haven't overdone it yet.
Mindful eating = B+ : I try hard to pay attention to it while I am eating. I don't always get it to applesauce consistency but I make sure I chew a lot and I eat very slow most of the time. I am shocked at how quick this part has come to me
Exercise = F : I am at little to no exercise. Sadly my back pain has increased since surgery, and I have not had an injection since before surgery so even walking is very hard. Today I did some "bike riding" in my neighbors pool and I am getting an injection tomorrow along with a refill of my pain meds. Hopefully this will help a lot.
Vitamins = C : I do not know why it is so hard for me to remember to take my Vitamins and Calcium. They are right there with the meds I take everyday. I need to work a lot harder on them
Self image = D : Dysmorphia is a *****. I have a very hard time with this. I can not see a change at all. I know I am smaller and have lost inches, just when I look at myself I still see pre-surgery me. Thankfully my family and friends make sure they tell me the changes they see.
Mental Health = B My mental health hasn't changed much. I'm maintaining which is as good as I can hope.
Relationships = A+ : My family and friends are amazing. My friends often tell me the changes they see and when we are going out to lunch or dinner together are always very mindful of my dietary needs when they pick the places we go. (Our daughters are competitive gymnasts we always go out to eat after a meet) My hubby was deployed when I had surgery and lost weight. Now he is more mindful of portions using smaller plates etc. He also will not bring fast food home which helps me a lot because again-craving fries lol
Self care = C : I need to really work on this in during the remainder of this year and slip into 2020 with a better regime.
