I'm 7 months post op VSG, and I'm so exhausted. I feel ok for a bit after I get a B-12 shot, and then I'm really sluggish again when it's due. Does anyone know approx when it goes away for good? Will it go and then come back?

Are y'all finding you can still only eat the 2 oz or just a little bit more? If I attempt to eat just a little bit more, I get really bad pains like a horrible heart burn pain. Anyone else?

I'm 6 weeks today, and I too have been battling this hunger stuff.... I feel like I'm always wanting to eat, and then when I do eat, I feel like I take that 1 or 2 extra bites and it just hurts. It's like i'm trying to feel fuller longer. I also feel like I can eat a little more than 2 oz now too. I'm going to try to up my Water intake too and Protein to see if this helps. Great advice. Thank you!
Lisa I really hope you feel better soon! My only problem thus far has been my rash... it really sucks.

Thank you all, I had surgery 2/14. and the glue that they used was gone by 1.5 weeks. This developed at 4 weeks out. I sent the photos to my surgeons office because they are not seeing pt's. The nurse told me I'm allergic to my Vitamins. However if I was the rash would be everywhere not just around my incisions. So I went to urgent care Sunday, and got some steroids. it's helping a little.....

I’m at the stall too. My surgery was 2/14 so almost 5 weeks now. I just started solids today. On Friday I broke out into a rash at 2 of my incisions. The rash is horrible because the incisions and rash are painful and very itchy. I was told it’s the preservatives in my Vitamins. Ugh

It’s an interesting spasm. I don’t have it when I consume ice chips, I get it when I have a popsicle. I am really starting to think it’s my stomach’s way of saying I’m full. I don’t think it’s gas related though I could be wrong. My surgeon did say I’d be having spasms. I’m going to ask him to treat it I think. Tomorrow’s my 1 week I’ll talk with him then.On 02/19/2020 at 21:33, GotItDoneInHarlem said:
I've been getting really bad cramps too. 3-4 times a day. Still not sure if it's just cramps or if it's gas.

Yes that’s about where I’m at too with them. Maybe it’s the cold? I was eating a popsicle. On 02/19/2020 at 17:10, CarmaCarmen said:
I’m also 5 days out and get cramps under the breastbone usually a few minutes after sipping something cold. They come and go for about 20 minutes but each time is like a small wave of pain that I guess is like a spasm. I had less today than yesterday so hopefully they’ll stop eventually. I’m still not getting enough fluids and nowhere even close with Protein

For those that have had the surgery already, have y’all had any spasms? Omg they hurt. Is this the hey you’re full... ?
I’m 5 days post op sleeve. -
Ok so I bought a broth and I hate it! So I had my honey take me to Panera bread and they let me try their Soup broth. I love them. Yay something I can eat! Also.... for ice chips go to your local Sonic because they sell a 10lbs bag for $3.25 and omg it’s the best!!!!

I’m feeling the same feelings when I drink. Taking pill sucks. I feel the getting stuck. And the dry mouth part really sucks. I’ve been having a lot of dry heaving and that’s very painful. I’ve been walking a lot and hopefully get to go home today. On 02/15/2020 at 17:42, CarmaCarmen said:
Today I was discharged from hospital after getting sleeved yesterday. I felt really good post-op and this morning but after being home on my own, definitely feeling more pain and discomfort. After every sip of Water, my body makes the loudest noises🤭 ! Gurgling and whining and popping is the best I can describe. One side of my face is flushed and warm...not sure what that’s about, lol.
Trying to walk around and get some of the gas up and its helping. I feel so thirsty though and maybe only got two sips of my clear Protein down.
Question: Doctor gave me 10 pain pills but said to try to just take Tylenol unless it’s really bad. I think I’d be ok with Tylenol...should i crush the pills up?

My Dr doesn’t want me having Protein for a week after surgery. It’s all about fluids. Keep the kidneys functioning. Hydration and kidney function is more important than protein in the first week. I hope this helps!!On 02/13/2020 at 20:10, ResaRoo said:
@lisa - I had the exact same symptoms this morning. A raging headache, dark urine, extreme nausea. My doctor gave the same advice - focus on fluids, forget about Protein Shakes for now. He even suggested having some watered down apple juice. It’s definitely helped. I flew home today, and the last 30 minutes were awful. Constant turbulence that was so bad that my Fitbit was counting it as steps. 😮🤢Needless to say, it took a while for my tummy to settle down.
I’d highly recommend for anyone flying out after that you take gravel and have someone pull/push your suitcase for you. Mine wasn’t heavy, but after 20 minutes of walking with it, it felt like I had done a billion sit ups. -

I’m getting so excited!!! I seriously can’t function at work. I register tomorrow at the hospital and meet with my Dr again for my pre-op appointment and then Friday at 130 is my surgery! I’m having the sleeve done. Such a long wait so very glad it’s finally time!!

So glad it went well and you get to go home!! You’re one of the lucky ones with minimal pain.On 02/05/2020 at 14:21, JettK said:
Well I'm back and awake! Dr said everything went well and no pain except some gas on my left side under breast. I've walked twice to help it and just not got my first sip of Water and my tongue thanked me more than anything!
Should be discharged in the morning and off to begin my new ways
I'm glad its over, I had all types of paranoid thought, lol so uncalled for
good lucl this month for the rest of you!

Yay!! So exciting!! Luckily you only have 1 day prior to surgery, I have 2 days... oh well I know it will help. The nerve pain medication is this a standard for your surgeon? Or have you been having some pain?On 02/04/2020 at 14:12, doublepau said:
So I had my pre-op appointment earlier todat. My surgeon said the week before to eat low carb and the day before surgery i'll be doing liquids. Not bad at all in my opinion! He also prescribed a drug for nerve pain that I have to take the day before to minimize pain post-op.

I’m sorry to hear that your surgery was moved. But you will be happier with recovery. The 10th is just around the corner! For me the 14th is almost here too. I just wish it was sooner. Lol
