    Terrified I Won’t Lose Weight

You will lose. You don’t have an option, at least in the beginning. You can’t over eat bc it comes up if you do. You can’t drink while you eat or it comes up. So your body will be very strict with you for awhile. After reading many posts, it’s seems that way later you have possibility of stretching stomach and gaining weight but I think that’s a small percentage. I wish you the best!

    anyone else experience this

    Thank you!!!
  3. I had sleeve on 7/3/19. It’s 9/17/19. I feel like there is still a lot I can’t eat. Oatmeal and yogurt feel the best. You know that feeling when it kind of hurts when you eat something. For example tonight I made veggie crumble with taco seasoning (30% less sodium), cut tomatoes, cut avocado, and put mixture into lettuce. I have a slight feeling that I need to throw up. I only ate one leaf with the mixture. I get this feeling with a lot of foods. Can’t do any meats. (I was vegetarian for years). Even tofu gives me that grinding, painful feeling. I had hernia repair so that’s not it. It’s more of pain in stomach. Maybe too much food, maybe didn’t chew enough. Uggh. This is the only issue I have. I’ve been walking everyday. I’m down almost 60 lbs. Any thoughts???

I used to love cheese too... but it caused a lot inflammation and then I’d start having back issues from the inflammation. Once I stopped eating the cheese, my back issues would get better. I like the nutritional yeast, when mixed in recipes, it takes like cheese and can have consistency. Nice alternative for me. 🙂

I’m on purée too for another week and 1/2. Such an adjustment. Sipping drinks slowly is another. But I think in time we will be able to eat and drink normally, I hope (just smaller portions). How are you doing? We had our surgeries around the same time.
  6. Hi. It’s me again. I tried mashed up avocado. Bad idea! It feels stuck and gurgling and feels like it wants to come up. Ugh. I didn’t even finish half and avocado. I had sleeve on 7/3. It’s 7/13. So not quite two weeks. Maybe this is normal. It makes me sad because I love avocado’s. Looks like I need more time with the baby food. I’m a vegan so I’ve been doing fruit/veggie baby food, trying to get my 64 oz water (which realistically probably won’t happen because I typically do half of that), and at least 60 g of protein through a plant based protein drink (Owyn). Anyone else have same experience? Food too thick? There weren’t chucks, I mashed it up pretty good. Thoughts and advice are greatly appreciate. You guys are the best! ❤️

    Super Cold

Glad to hear I’m not the only one. Today was hectic and didn’t get my usual 50-70 protein. I thought it might be bc of that. 🤷‍♀️ I feel fine otherwise. Definitely going to get an electric blanket or two. Lol The women at my job blast the a/c all day. I can usually tolerate it...not today. Best to you all! ❤️

    Super Cold

Today I’m super cold at work. Specifically my hands and feet. Any thoughts as to why? I got sleeve on 7/3.

It was a bit nutty in flavor so it wasn’t what I thought it would taste like. But it was still good.

Thank you for your feedback. ❤️ I put tofu, vegan leek soup, and flaxseed powder in a blender. It’s very soupy. I’ll try it for the first time today. Every time I eat, I try and walk. I don’t want t get any trapped gas. That happened once and I was miserable a day and half.
  12. This is sooo good! I’m in my puree phase and found this to be so refreshing.17A7388A-0A41-4B09-A8DA-9635DA81F8A0.thumb.jpeg.008d0cc73ca69184af4aeff7bdaa0a82.jpeg

  13. Had the sleeve procedure 7/3/19. I’ve been vegetarian over 15 years, moving from vegan to vegetarian a few times. Vegan is much better! I find dairy causes a lot of inflammation and so I had to kick the cheese, which I loved. I like the substitutes. Even nutritional yeast can give that cheesy flavor I like.

I’m on week two from sleeve surgery. Is it too early to incorporate mashed tofu? I got green light from surgeon yesterday to move from liquids to purée food. I had sleeve surgery 7/3. I’ve been vegetarian 15 years and vegan off and on. Now on for past year and half. I love reading about vegans on this forum who have been or are planning to be. You are my tribe! ❤️❤️❤️ I opted for bariatricfusion multivitamins but I’m going to go back to my plant based vitamins once I run out. There are a few deficiencies in the plant based multivitamins but I figure it’s because those vitamins/minerals low in multivitamin can be obtained from food. The vitamin I was using which I love is PLNT - Whole Food Women’s Multivitamin from Vitamin Shoppe. (Brown box). For example calcium. This vitamin only has 21 mg and it’s recommended we have 1,000 mg daily. I can get that from tofu and certain vegetables. Love to hear about your ideas and thoughts.... Tammy
