  1. Great suggestions! Ty!! Watching a comedy always puts me in a good mood ?
  2. Thank you for the Dr V suggestion. He makes so much sense & it’s very helpful
  3. Bariatric surgery support; Bariatric kitchen; Bariatric mind masters and Bariatric social. They are private fb groups that you ask to join.
  4. Anxiety is my food trigger. Glad you have an appt with your dr. Let us know how it turns out
  5. Congrats congrats congrats!!!!! Very excited for you! You’re living the dream!!!
  6. Hang on ladies & gents ! My surgeon warned me about feeling depressed after surgery. It can be one of the byproducts initially. This too shall pass & it will. I was on a thread last night on FB & 95% of the people said they’d do the surgery again in a heartbeat. The 1st 2 months can be filled with almost regret but then.... IT PASSES!!!!
  7. Tomorrow is the big day & I feel ready & excited. Things have begun to change within me since I began this journey. Slowly I’ve started to regain some of my lost self esteem. Committing to the surgery alone ... making a commitment to myself has brought back in me a sense of self love which has been missing from my life for several years. I’m very reflective this morning because I know I’m embarking on a new life. One that I’m excited about . Best of luck to all my surgery twins! We’ve got this!!!!
  8. I’m single too & will start dating again after I’ve lost a certain amount of weight. I have definitely considered all the things you’ve said. Good Lingerie for me has always been a help. Pretty teddy that covers the stomach
  9. I’m allowed the sugar free ice pops too!
  10. Thanks for sharing!!! You’re an inspiration

    You look amazing!! Congrats!!
  12. Can you add in flavorless protein powder into eggs, cottage cheese, beans etc? It was suggested to me to put the protein into a little warm water... let it melt then add into whatever I’m making
  13. I’m really grateful for having found this group & all of you. You’re all mostly positive, encouraging & joyful. I belong to a few FB groups and Lordy.... some people are so darn judgmental. This weight loss surgery business is very serious & very real & I’m here because I’ve been beaten down physically, emotionally & mentally I certainly don’t need a bunch of shaming from others . I used to belong to WW “connect” app & they were all super positive & informative & encouraging as well. So ty so much everyone for being a supportive bunch. Unlike WW ... I’ve been unsuccessful in finding a face to face support group for WLS peeps. The one my hospital offers doesn’t even slightly cut it. Personally .... I do so much better in my life when I’m surrounded by like minded people that have similar goals & are striving to live their best lives. The surgical team at my hospital have encouraged me, when I’m ready, to help them with their group or start a new one. They’ll support it with the nutritionist, surgeon etc. In time. But today... I have all of you & I’m super grateful for that. The wealth of info that you provide, the positive feedback & sharing your experience, strength & hope is invaluable. ❤️ Joan
  14. Omg that’s funny!!! It’s great to see that eventually we can live a life that’s disciplined but still have so much fun & enjoying ourselves while doing it. That’s my goal eventually. I’ve been so rigid & serious because of this dumb weight & the health issues that I’ll really welcome living life to the fullest (within moderation) once again. Enjoy every minute of your vacation!!!
  15. I discontinued my WW membership as well. I’m now using the free “Baritastic “ app. It will scan labels like WW app. Now I just have to get used to the micros of what I’m aiming for in a day post-op. How many carbs, how much protein, how much fat etc. Since that’s the way we did WW I think I’ll find that the easiest way. Try the Baritastic app. You might find it helpful

What a beautiful outfit & you look marvelous in it!
  17. Welcome! Qualifying for surgery is based on your BMI... looks like you’re in the neighborhood of 42 which means you should qualify. Be sure to discuss this with your medical team. Ask questions . Let them know your concerns. Try not to worry about being denied until/unless that happens. Praying that all goes smoothly for you. Search the different topics on this site. Keep reading & learning! You can learn more about BMI here https://www.smartbmicalculator.com/result.html?unit=1&hf=5&hi=3&wl=235&us=1&ua=58&ue=0&gl=125&di=2&dt=2
  18. For Calcium my nutritionist recommended unjury calcium citrate plus chewable https://www.unjury.com/products/opurity-vitamins.html
  19. Bianca I’m with you! Surgery Monday 8/19/19. Woot woot!! Also doing liquid diet Saturday & Sunday. Mine is full liquid not clear. I’m getting my last blood test right now. Best of luck to you! I’ll follow you! Best... Joan

  21. Oh brother... yikes! 1st congrats on your surgery! 2nd..., Thank God you were educated enough to figure this out on your own. Some people might have taken what was offered& had major complications.
