  1. Somebody say real coffee?? I’m looking forward to that. I was told no caffeine. Does anyone know why not?
  2. Omg!!! 11 lbs in a week is wonderful!!!! You must be thrilled I know I would be! I’m 4 days out from surgery & I’m down 2.5 lbs & I’m thrilled about that. Now I just have to do that 50 more times & I’ll be happy !! ?
  3. Oh what I wouldn’t do for crumbled turkey sausage!!! Oh... all that flavor! 4 days out & on full liquids. Oy vey!
  4. Ty! I’ve had time to focus on all the positive & I’m thinking my surgeon probably did what was best for me. I do trust him. I was also upset because 12 hours out of surgery in my painkiller haze after asking multiple people which surgery I had... I finally found a nurse who told me that I had the sleeve. My surgeon apologized for that. He thought someone had told me. ❤️
  5. 4 days post op & I’ve got my 1st weight loss.... 2.5 lbs!!! Ok body of mine.... let’s do this another 50 x !!!!
  6. Hi there! How are you doing & where are you in your recovery?
  7. Congrats!!You must be thrilled since there’s a substantial difference!!! Wonderful!!! I had the sleeve ... had wanted RNY but surgeon made an executive decision when he had me on the table to do the sleeve because of scar tissue. Glad to see that the sleeve is working out so well for you! Ps.... how do we post pics? I’m still learning this app!!
  8. Best of luck to you!! I had my surgery Monday & honestly I don’t care what I’m sipping... water premier... it’s just what I have to do & id be fine with nothing. I have no appetite. However I’ve set my alarm for every 10 minutes & I just look at is as part of my recovery. I’m doing Enoxaparin shots in my stomach 2x a day to prevent clots. Keep us posted on your progress. Next time you contact us you’ll be on the losers bench!!! Yay!!!!!
  9. Me three! Just got home from the hospital about 7 hrs ago & nursing my 1st premier plus water every 10 minutes
  10. I love hearing about your mental strength & who you can really count on. I actually received more love & support than I thought I would. I’m the caretaker in my world & everyone has always depended on me. Feels nice to feel live & support! ❤️
  11. I am disappointed! The PA mentioned 1 week pre-op that because I had a c-section previously that they might have to do the sleeve. I feel like I was being set up to get something that wasn’t my 1st choice. Sure enough they spent 45 min on scar tissue & weren’t getting anywhere so decided to do sleeve . They felt it was a better option for me. I’m disappointed because I felt that RNY was the gold standard & higher weight loss. I’m 5’3 42 BMI with Co-morbidities. Anyone out there very happy with their sleeve surgery??
  12. Ty very much!! I’m so psyched to be on the other side of this. Sometimes when you’re waiting you feel as though it’s never going to happen
  13. It made me think twice but it would be upsetting if I felt he had other motives
  14. After much research I had my heart set on RNY. When I sat down with the team PA 10 days before surgery he mentioned that because I had a previous c-section they might have to sleeve because of scar tissue. Has this happened to anyone else? Other than that.,, I’m feeling pretty darn good. A little cranky because I had nothing but an IV for 36 hours. Did anyone else go in for RNY & come out with Sleeve?
  15. Hi there,! I had my surgery yesterday. I thought it was strange but they gave me blood thinners right before my surgery. I expected it afterwards . In any case.... Very best of luck to you! Keep us posted
  16. Hope all my surgery twins came out of their surgery with flying colors! I did really well but they ended up doing the sleeve instead of RNY. I’m very disappointed but I’ll deal with it tomorrow because I’ve exhausted!!
  17. I’m still in hospital & on pain meds so I’m not super clear headed but..., I would definitely do or say something . There’s also a closed group on fb “transfer addiction after WLS”. I would give it some thought. Not sure which direction i would go in but I would do something to try & help.,
  18. Welcome! My surgery is tomorrow morning! I went through so many ups & downs . I started researching as much as possible. If you go to the hospital you’re not signing your life away you’re gathering info. I was on a site yesterday & out of 800 something people almost all said that they’d do it again . Only regret was not doing it sooner!!
  19. Awesome buddy!!!! You look handsome & healthy!!!
  20. Oy vey! Takes all kinds in this world. I got WLS shamed by a nurse during one of my pre-op appts. She couldn’t believe that insurance would pay for my surgery because I wasn’t as big as she thought I should be. Funny thing is.... I didn’t ask this boor for her opinion. Best of luck to you going forward. I’m in Ny too! Long Island
  21. Welcome to the group & to taking back your healthy life!
  22. Me too! Tomorrow’s the day 8/19/19!! 1st day of the rest of our lives! Good luck to us all!!! ❤️
  23. Yes. Mine was postponed 1 week. I was supposed to have it 7/12/19 but insurance asked for something additional. At 1st I was upset but it was for the best because I honestly needed that additional week to calm my nerves and get my s^%# together. I’m going in tomorrow 6:00 a.m. Try not to worry too much. The hospital usually know how to work with the ins.
  24. I started going to therapy once I decided on the surgery. I have found out many reasons why I obsess about food & eating. I’m also working on my goals going forward & what I want my life to look like & how to not regain the weight. It’s the best!
