  1. Paula... I think you'll be ok to have a little something. There's people that are eating toast and cheese sticks while in the hospital before being sent home. You've GOTTA be ok.
  2. My doctor told me that even with light weight work I'd probably need 2 weeks off to adjust and get rest. I was back to work in 4 days and even though I'm only getting about 30 grams of protien a day and between 500 and 1000 calories I haven't been too tired. I notice I'm exhausted at night but otherwise I'm still able to do everything I want for the most part. Not 100% but pretty close. Considering I just had surgery I never expected myself to be 100% afterwards. There's always an adjustment for your body to go through. Hang in there Caroline... the tired feeling won't last forever:)
  3. racermom... I feel great. I was sore a few days but I had my surgery on a Thursday morning. Was released from the hospital on Friday at 2pm. I was back to work Monday morning at 8am. I did fine and I only took pain meds for three nights and only at bedtime to help me sleep comfortable. I'm not sure yet how much I've lost because my scale hasn't arrived yet but I notice a big difference in my clothes already. Yippie! If you have anymore questions, ask away. I'm an open book!
  4. Caroline... I do find myself more tired then usual. I too am taking in between 600 and 900 calories. It's very strange to me eating as little as I am. I decided today to do the calorie count from an average day preband and it was around 3000 for one day! YIKES! Good luck to all you getting the band in the next few days! I know how nervous you are. It's so exciting! I was banded on a Thursday and was back to work that Monday. Just depends on your pain tolerance I think. I was up and walking to my own bed an hour after surgery and tearing laps around the floor 2 hours after surgery. Don't get me wrong.. I was really sore and the gas pain made me miserable but it was all worth it. Let us know how you're doing as soon as you can!
  5. There's plenty of canucks on here! I'm in Michigan but love canucks a whole bunch I just had my surgery on Aug 3rd and I'm VERY happy I did it. I already notice a difference in my body. Good luck to you and this site is a great source of information! Welcome to LapbandTalk!
  6. Thats AWESOME Robin. I didn't know he found anything but I'm so glad for the good outcome. It's all smooth sailing from here sister!
  7. I was just banded a week and a half ago (seems longer then that) and my scale is supposed to arrive any day now. I ordered it last week. I'm dying to know if I've lost anything. My body feels different already. Wish I was at twoterville already Wait up for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! hehehe.
  8. awwwww Lisah.. I'm sorry about your tooth! That stinks! I understand your doubts and know we've all had them. You'll be beyond happy though when you have the surgery and drop the weight and save all the money for future health care resulting from being obese. It's so worth it! Hang in there!
  9. Good luck tomorrow Bug and Libra! I'm so excited that we're all getting there! Yay!!!
  10. Yay Paula!!!! I caved last night bad and had a half cup of cream of wheat. It was soooooooooooo good!
  11. Hang in there Jill. Things will be great! You'll be SOOOOOOO happy! You wanna be part of the August Band Crew right??? hehe! Good luck Girlfriend!
  12. you look HOT Heather. Beautiful! I can't wait to get to that point myself!
  13. Welcome to the August Band Crew Mert! You'll be seeing results soon! It's so exciting!!!
  14. With my tomato soup I put basil, minced garlic and a table spoon of ricotta cheese along with some parmasian on the top. Reminds me of meatless lasagna without the pasta! It's SOOOOO good! MMMMMMmmmm
  15. Good luck to those being banded! We're here for you when you get back. Let us know how it went! I'm a week and a half out now. 11 days!!! I feel really good. My incisions are healing nicely for the most part. One is a little bit infected but I'm taking care of it. I'm still eating pretty small amounts. I'm still fighting with head hunger though and wantng to chew something! AHHHH! But I'll be ok. I can sleep on my stomach already with no problems and I haven't used any pain meds or tylenol since three days after surgery. Like I had said.. I'm feeling good. I did have my first NSV on Saturday when I tried on a pair of jean capri's I couldn't fit anymore and they fit me perfect. Not tight at all! Yay!!!!! I'm still waiting for my scale to arrive so I can see how much I've lost. I'm so happy we're all getting banded. The month is halfway over!!!!
  16. Yesterday I decided to go over to my sisters to help her paint her bathroom and when I was getting dressed I saw this pair of jean capri's that I love but I couldn't fit in to anymore this year (which made me pretty sad) so I decided to try them on just to see if I could even button them. At this point I don't know how much I've lost in a little over a week because my scale hasn't arrived yet. So I picked them up and slipped them right on with no trouble buttoning or zipping them up. They felt great and I felt even better then great! Having this surgery was SO worth it!
  17. air from them pumping your midsection full of air to make it easier to work in there. It's trapped in there and trying to find a way out. Mine wasn't in my shoulder but in my back and chest. Ouchie!
  18. My stomach is growling as I type this. I caved last night and took a half avacado, table spoon of sourcream and milk and put it in the blender till it was super smooth. It was actually kind of fluffy like cool whip...but anyways. I ate a bit of that and it was soooooooooooooo good! I just can't take the sweet stuff all the time anymore. It's making me want to gag. hahahaha. So today I had a yogurt this morning and i've been drinking a bottle of water since then. I'm just dying to get past this liquid stage. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
  19. sleepyjean.. my husband is big. Probably 5'9" and 350.
  20. want2lose. My husband was very nervous and unsure about it also but I kept right on going to get everything I needed done. I made him go to a second seminar with me and afterwards I said "do you feel better now?" he said not really... I asked why and he said "you think you can give up pepsi?" of all the information in there he was worried about me giving up pepsi!!! So from that day forward I didn't drink pepsi again and that was 2 months ago. I've had my surgery and he's VERY proud of me and he's also changed his life and is eating better and it's been great for the both of us. Good Luck and no matter what, you need to do what's right for you.
  21. Kwmmwk... how are you doing? Haven't heard back from ya
  22. Kwmmwk... I think that what they mean by not tolerated means that you'd be PBing it back up. It's just going to take a while for it all to go down the space the band has left you. My doctor said that your old stomach on average is 32oz and after surgery you have about 4 oz so that meal you had is probably really tight in there, resulting in how misrable you are.
  23. Kmwwmk... unfortunately I think you're just gonna have to suffer it out. I doubt there's a way to get it to digest any faster. Maybe sip water or hot tea? I think this happened because you're eating too fast. I've had yogurt and felt like I was going to explode after 6 oz and it was because I didn't eat it slow enough to give my body time to tell me STOP! I hope you feel better soon.
  24. I told my husband when I hit goal I want to go back to vegas and stay at the palms and while I'm there get a tattoo at Hart and Huntington to do with my weightloss. yay!
  25. JadedLady, I feel ya completely. I crave unsweet stuff too. I just can not eat that broth. UGH! I hope to move through the next 7 days quickly so I can then have cream soups and cream of wheat and all that fun stuff. YUMMY
