Peanut butter during pureed stage?
kristieshannon replied to GingerSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did your team give you a specific plan? Follow that! You just went through major, life changing surgery. If you’re feeling really hungry at this stage it’s possible that it’s actually excess stomach acid. Do they have you on a acid reducing medicine? I’d advise calling your team tomorrow to check in. 7 days out seems too soon to me for peanut butter, but each team’s guidance varies. -
It’s actually great. I’ve always loved rice, and pre op could eat a ton of it. I’m completely and totally satisfied with just a couple bites now and don’t feel like I’m missing out at all.

I’m 21 months post op. I can eat about 2 bites of rice and do pretty frequently. My son and I love our local teriyaki restaurant. We’ll get one order of teriyaki chicken, extra meat. I have 3-4 oz of chicken and a couple bites of rice and the rest is plenty for his dinner.

Portion Control Containers
kristieshannon replied to SummerTimeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think as you move towards regular foods you will find them helpful for portion control. This weeks lunches for work for me were 4oz containers of turkey chili, with a 2 oz container of nuts for a snack and a yogurt. I use my containers nearly daily, it keeps me on track. Eyeballing portions, in my experience, leads to over eating. -

kristieshannon replied to Janelle m's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the sleeve as well, and also had hiatal hernia repair. I’m 21 months post op. I’m maintaining at below my initial goal weight. I have occasional (once a month, if that) heartburn easily treated with a Tums. You’ll successful people who had either surgery. Work with your team to determine which will be best for you. -

A couple days and you should feel better. The very best thing you can do to dissipate the gas, prevent blood clots, and get your GI tract working is to walk as much as you can tolerate.

What should I aim for in terms of healthy goal weight?
kristieshannon replied to ThanaK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My initial goal, set by my surgeon and I, was 150-155. I made it there a few months ago and decided to shoot for “normal” BMI. Today I hit 142.8 which at 5’3.5” gives me a BMI of exactly 24.9. I think my plan for long term is to drop to 140, and then attempt maintenance in the window of 140-145. -
Yes! So annoying! When I finally feel confident enough to wear fitted clothes suddenly all the styles are loose and baggy. The dress I bought yesterday was the only one in the boutique that actually had a fitted waist. Everything else hung like a sack.

I’ve always had a good experience getting fitted at Nordstrom. -
Welcome! I’ve found this group to be incredibly supportive. There’s the occasional asshat that joins in, but they seem to realize pretty quickly they won’t get any traction here.

My blood pressure now tends to run low so it’s a salt free for all for me :)

Costco sells big bags of organic roasted & salted pumpkin seeds. They are delish!
-
I eat much of the same thing most days of the week. Morning snack is a serving of roasted pumpkin seeds, afternoon is Dannon Light-n-Fit yogurt.

Damn. Hotness 🔥!!! You should totally wear it. To grocery shop, library, doctor visit. Whatever. Wear it!

No date tonight. I’m on a solo trip to Portsmouth, NH. I got dressed up to go eat dinner alone at a fancy restaurant in town. Either I’m an incredibly independent woman on an adventure on my own or sort of pathetic eating at the bar flirting with the bartender. After a second G&T I’ll know for sure 😂

Me too. I married him. Didn’t turn out so well in the end 😢

Super cute! I too have a long torso and can’t do rompers without getting an epic wedgie 😂
