  1. So this is the nutritional panel from my shakes. I think because it’s vegetable based that’s why there are so many carbs. I have my pre-op appt on the 25th, so I will talk to my surgeon then. Just wondering what any of you thought about this. I looked at my soy isolate powder and it has 0 carbs, so obviously, this is a concern.
  2. I haven’t had surgery yet. July 8. I’m just trying to find a protein shake I can stomach.
  3. So each shake should have no more than 5g of sugar? Darn! mine has 9g. I guess it's back to soy isolate for me.
  4. I can’t do whey protein shakes, so I’ve found a vegan one I like. However, it has 25g of carbs per shake. The whey ones have like 5g. What is recommended? It seems like a huge difference, but not sure if a big enough one to find a different shake.
  5. I don’t mind the taste, the whey just wrecks my stomach.
  6. I got an unflavored soy isolate, mixed it with water and crystal light. It’s not wonderful, but my stomach can tolerate it. Only 20g of protein per serving, but at least I can stomach it.
  7. Sometimes, with no rhyme or reason, milk/dairy negatively affects me. I’m thinking of trying something lactose free. I’m ok with the consistency, it’s just about 30 minutes after, I have a horrible stomachache.
  8. My surgery is July 8. I just started trying to drink a protein shake a day, just to help with the transition. The first day, I drank a full shake and subsequently threw it up. Today, I drank half a shake, felt like throwing up, but I didn't. I have tried Premier shakes (bananas and cream and caramel). Any suggestions on what to try? I'm getting nervous that all shakes will make me sick.
