Bariatric team approval?
I was told that they review it to make sure we are surgery ready, and if we are, they will send it to my insurance. I was under the impression that once I finish my requirements that they just send all my info to my insurance but that's not the case. I completed everything on 11/4. They didn't start reviewing it until 11/22.

Bariatric team approval?
My bariatric team has been reviewing my chart for nearly 2 weeks. I emailed my patient coordinator asking how long it normally takes for them to review it. She messaged me back saying there is no time limit. How long did it take your team to review and approve your chart so it can be sent to your insurance?

Bariatric team approval?
They had me complete almost everything with my PCP. The only thing they couldn't allow me to do with her, was my psych eval, barium swallow and 2 nutrition classes. Something about those have to be done through the center because of the center of excellence or something like that lol. My patient coordinator did say when it was completed, she will email me on the portal or call me. So fingers crossed I'll get a call sometime next week because I am ready!

Bariatric team approval?
I have Staywell Medicaid. Hopefully mine doesn't take forever. [emoji24]

I completed all my requirements on 11/4. The patient coordinator said that she will upload it all to my chart for the team to approve it to be sent to my insurance. How long did it take your team to approve your chart to be sent to your insurance? The representative for my surgeons office said a few weeks.

At home sleep study
I don’t blame you! He suggested doing it at home since I have a 2 year old. Which I’m fine with doing it at home anyways lol. I’m hoping to have it done before October because that’s my last weigh in is Oct 3rd. He told me I’ll hear from them in a few days. Most likely mid next week since it’s already Friday.

At home sleep study
I’m almost done with my requirements. I just have 2 more weigh ins, the endoscopy and sleep study. Everything is scheduled except for the sleep study. I seen the pulmonologist today to get the order for the sleep study. He is ordering an at home sleep study instead of in a clinic. Has anyone had the sleep study done at home and it be accurate?

Possible pregnancy and only(almost)three months out
The girl I know, just had her gender reveal yesterday and she posts updates periodically. She posted that he is healthy!

Possible pregnancy and only(almost)three months out
I know someone who got pregnant 7 weeks after surgery. She’s having a boy! Could have been a bad indent or the dye had not settled enough at the time you looked at it. I would take one with first morning urine and keep testing until you get your period. If you don’t get your period after a week or so, then test again.

Ladies TMI- Period Questions
I haven’t had my surgery yet, but I do know what you’re going through. I used to have the IUD and it made my periods light but also made them last two weeks and really irregular. I got mine taken out and replaced with pills. I just recently stopped taking the pills in January. I had normal periods until March. It was late by a few days, then April was my last period. Went to my primary and they did a scan, turns out I had a cyst on my ovary, I didn’t have a period in May, but spotted until this past Thursday. Now I’ve been bleeding heavy. I’d go to you’re GYN or primary because it could be a cyst.

July 8th consultation
I have to go to Gainesville FL. I’m like at the state line of Florida and Georgia! There was a place in Jacksonville that I was trying to go through but they don’t accept my insurance and I can’t pay out of pocket. With my insurance, it’s paid for completely as long as it’s medically necessary. At first I was just going to give up and not do it, but my boyfriend convinced me. He told me he’s willing to take me to every appointment, if that is what’s going to make me happy. He knows I hate taking pictures or having them taken of me. He’s seen me at my best and worst, so he knows I’m not happy with myself.

July 8th consultation
Thank you! I’m beyond ready for my appointment. I have to travel almost 2 hours to my appointment due to them being the only closest doctors who accept my insurance. I can’t wait to get the list so I can get the ball rolling.

July 8th consultation
Anyone else having their consult on the 8th or around that date? I have my first consult with Dr. Ayzengart and I am beyond ready to start my process. I’ll have 4 months of weight checks with my PCP so I’ll only need two more and whatever else he has me doing.
-
Gainesville Fl Medicaid?
That’s where I ended up getting a referral for. I have my consult with Dr. Ayzengart on July 8th. I have 3 or 4 of my weight checks, so I’ll just need a couple more. Do you happen to know all the requirements they want? I’m almost done with my 6 consecutive months of documented weightloss attempts.

Pre surgery 6 mth required diet
My insurance requires 6 consecutive months with either my PCP or a nutritionist. I chose my PCP because we’ve been discussing my weight and diet for a while now. So I have 4 consecutive months already and I go for my consult on the 8th of July.

6 consecutive months with PCP
I just spoke with them and they said I can see my PCP or a nutritionist. But it definitely has to be 6 consecutive months and they just have to document what I’ve been doing and my loss/gains. He also informed me that I’ll be getting a checklist during my consultation of things I have to do before surgery!
-
6 consecutive months with PCP
I’ll definitely give them a call to get clarification. I just remembered them saying 6 consecutive months with PCP. I told her I think I already have that and that it might have already been over two. If I have to start over, I should have 2 consecutive months at least so I’m hoping it won’t take forever to get my surgery date after I complete the requirements.

6 consecutive months with PCP
I started my WLS journey back in March. I’m May, I finally found someone who takes my insurance. I had to do a seminar before they would schedule me for a consult. They called me the day they received my certificate of completion and told me that my insurance requires 6 consecutive months of weightloss with my PCP and that I have my consult on July 8th. Has anyone else had to do the 6 month thing and what exactly happened in each appointment?

June 20 1st appt with weight loss surgeon
I have my first appointment on July 8th. I’m going to be discussing doing the Gastric Bypass due to me having GERD. I would definitely research the different options and choose the one that best suits you.

Gainesville Fl Medicaid?
I’m from Jacksonville FL and no one in Jax accepts Staywell Medicaid for the surgery. I was told that the closest place that accepts it is Gainesville. Has anyone had WLS and Medicaid with a Gainesville surgeon? If so, I’d like to know so I can get a new referral sent out!
-
Staywell
I have staywell and I was referred to a group of surgeons by my PCP. They called a few months ago to set up the seminar. I finally got it done on the 14th, and then on the 16th I sent in my paperwork, releasing my medical records to them to fax to my insurance to get approval. Has anyone in the Jax FL area had a surgeon in Jax that accepted staywell? The website of the group of surgeons says they accept it but I’m just nervous!

Florida Staywell covered surgery
Hello! I have staywell as well, and I’m just starting the process. I had a to do a seminar before I was able to submit my paper work the staywell to see if I can be approved for surgery. If I am, I have to meet with the surgeon to do all the steps with him.
