  5. I shouldn't have read the boards today before getting ready... Almost every post was sad or negative about banding.... But I will have to find out for myself.. My Doctor makes us spend the night so I will post when I get home tomorrow... Good luck to the others who are going today... I know there were a few..

  10. Oh Juli you have a year in.... is it easy? Do you feel normal a year later, but still lose weight.. can you eat when you want but small meals.. My husband is getting worried that I am doing this and wont be able to ever eat right again.. I think by what he means right is normal food. My surgery is Monday and I dont see many people who have been a year out on here..... Do you just adjust and go on living a normal life with this band?
  11. I go in on Monday at 9:30am... I am as ready as I will be...had some real food today..Pita Pit chicken as I will not be eating tomorrow and who knows when I will eat next????? lite dinner tonight.. but I have been really good now for 3 weeks... I to have to spend the night as my dr likes his patients to stay one night... but I think I am comfortable with that.. 14. YEE HAW!!! You are on your way!!
  15. I had to go to the doctors today to get some antibotics as I was getting a sore throat and feeling a slight fever,. everyone at my work has been sick with a nasty cough and sore throat... So anyway I get to the Doctor and he says no antibiotics, we will know this out with steroids.. made me take 7 pills tonight and 7 tomorrow spread out through out the day... he said that should stop anything I have started in it's tracks...keeping my fingers crossed..never heard of taking prednisone to get rid of throat infections... have you? Anyway hopefully it will work and I will be fine for Monday, CUZ I am going even if I have to fake feeling good. Good luck to all of you... sounds like a lot you are going in tomorrow..
  16. I think the older lap bands had that gap in it that allowed for more of a weight gain if soda was drank and the stomach could stretch more as it would slip through the part of the band that didn't hold the silicone in the older bands... the new ones go all the way around so no slippage and no stretching as easy.. that is what our RN told us in class.. more are losing better with the new improved lap band
  17. I felt the same way before I found this forum..now I am excited again to start my journey ... T-7 days and counting...
  18. My doctor said low carb / low cal diet and nothing about fasting before surgery.. which I will do Sunday as my surgery is Monday.. but I am eating very light... dont want to take the chance that I would have to have an open surgery instead of lap... but even the nurse said.. that is how all their patients do it low carb low cal one week before..
  19. Good luck to all of you Texan's...lol Becky great great job!!!!!
  20. avocado's, hummas, baked potato no skin.. pork and beans (no pork..) mash potato's that is going to be on my list..lol
