Surgery Monday Sick Today

I had to go to the doctors today to get some antibotics as I was getting a sore throat and feeling a slight fever,. everyone at my work has been sick with a nasty cough and sore throat... So anyway I get to the Doctor and he says no antibiotics, we will know this out with steroids.. made me take 7 pills tonight and 7 tomorrow spread out through out the day... he said that should stop anything I have started in it's tracks...keeping my fingers crossed..never heard of taking prednisone to get rid of throat infections... have you?

Anyway hopefully it will work and I will be fine for Monday, CUZ I am going even if I have to fake feeling good.

Good luck to all of you... sounds like a lot you are going in tomorrow..

hey there. I am in exactly the same boat, go figure. My surgery is on Monday and I got sick yesterday. I took some theraflu, airborne, vitamins, vapor rub...the works. Hopefully i will be rid of it. However, if I can offer some advice...If Monday comes and you are still sick..RESCHEDULE. 4 years ago i had another surgery scheduled and was sick and decided to lie. They did a blood test before and noticed my white cell count was elevated and asked me if i was sick. I said I felt fine. What was an outpatient surgery turned into a 2 night stay because I became VERY ill afterward. Instead of returning to work in a week, I returned in a month. I vomited for days straight, lost my hearing for weeks, and was just deathly. Surgery will shock your system and being sick can just lead to infection and prolongued healing. It really isnt worth it. So Ill say a prayer for you and maybe you can do the same for me and this bug will be gone in a day or two!
