Consultation, need advice on Lap Band

:confused:Has anyone had surgery by dr coon in riverside,ca?

I'm getting nervous, I have my consultation on 5/15.

But, I've heard & read alot of bad things, but am trying to focus on the success stories. Just the band seems painful, especially when trying to eat any kind of food or drink water! Throwing it up all the time?? YIKES! Now, that makes me feel like wow! Is it really worth it, are we going to be basically starving ourselves to lose weight...I'm caught up in I want it so bad, to help me, & yet I'm scared to live the way people kinda seem unhappy with not being able ot keep food down.

Help!!! I'm at a point of should even go to my consultation or not? Any advice on the way I'm feeling?

I think you need to keep reading. It sounds as if you read a certain thread that was dealing with throwing up. Most people are not throwing up much at all. Please keep reading and I believe you will find that while there are some people that like to be so tight they can barely eat; there are many more who eat well but just eat smaller portions chewed very thoroughly.

Go to your consultation and get all your questions answered. Its really not as bad as it sounds. If you get to tight were your getting sick you just go and the doctor takes some fluid out and your good to go. I look at my band like a good parent. It lets me have to good things and when i go for the bad things it slaps me on the hand and says no.

I felt the same way before I found this forum..now I am excited again to start my journey ... T-7 days and counting...
