  1. I also forot to mention that i have to take thyroid medication because my metabolism dosn't work very well. Doc said was okay to start back on my pills again, so hopefully that'll help me lose too. (crossing fingers) lol!
  2. WELL, RIGHT AFTER MY SURGERY, ONE WEEK AFTER (5LBS)....WHEN I GO BACK IT'LL BE 2 WEEKS LATER (NEXT WEEK) I'M NOT SURE IF I'VE LOST ANYTHING AT ALL SINCE THEN, I REALLY DONT HAVE MUCH RESTRICTION RIGHT NOW. WHEN I GOT MY 1ST FILL, DOC TRIED TO PUT 3cc's BUT WAS A NO GO. SO, HOPEFULLY I WILL HAVE MORE RESTRICTION ON THIS NEXT VISIT.
  3. Hello, My surgery went great with Dr. Coon, no problems at all. I feel fine, not much pain after surgery, everything has been okay. Except my restriction isn't that great yet. I had my 1st fill already & am going back for another next week. Good luck on your visit, he is a very nice man.
  4. My surgery is tomorrow! Good luck to everyone else that is in November too!
  5. Thank you all for the help, I'm going in tomorrow & can't wait! I hope everyone is doing well & just want to say you are all such wonderful encouragement for me, especially when not everyone has been positive with me on my decision. Except my husband, who has been great! Thank you!!!!!!
  6. Well, I'm getting my band as of next Tuesday (11/25) & would like any suggestions on what must have food items I should have when I'm at home for my liquid stage. Thank you sooooo much!
  7. I had the upper GI done awhile ago, was nothing major. Simple! I'm getting banded on 11/25! Can't wait!
  8. well, yes I know that...I just meant solids can come back in, will not have to live on pureed food 4ever.
  9. I completely understand how you feel, my advice is to just research & read all you can on it. Then do what you feel is right for you. Surgery isn't for everyone. I am scheduled for lap band on Nov.25th, just went to my dietician appt., which was quite an awakening. No food in the beginning, pretty much liquids & baby style food....LOL! I started to ask myself do I really wanna do this? But, I know I will benefit in the long run from it all, & will be able to eat normal food eventually - just in proper portions. Good luck & God bless!
  10. What do you have to do for pre-op? Does everyone have to do the same things?
  11. I"m so excited for everyone!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to mention my doc is Dr. Coon in Riverside. So, if anyone else has been approved for the same surgeon, let me know!
  12. I'm scheduled for Nov. 25th & I can totally relate to everyone, emotions & all! Especially the last supper syndrome, that just cracked me up! LOL!! Good luck to everyone.
  13. OK, I've had everything done: ALL pre op testing, just got my date for surgery which is 11/25. I made my dietary appt today & I called to make sure if I had to pay any fees, she said no, it's all included in the surgery which Tri Care Prime pays for. I haven't had to put out not even 1 cent for any thing. Just an FYI, I don't know if it varies by what state you live in or what. But, I wish everyone luck. God Bless.
  14. You had to pay out of pocket?? I have Tri Care Prime but didn't relaize I would have to pay anything out of pocket for this surgery.
  15. Wow, yes definitely keep me posted on your progress. I'm having my upper GI test on the 14th & all I'm waiting for now is my psych evaluation appt to be set.
  16. No, I missed the last one. I got mixed up on the day. I know, I was hoping to have mine done before my husband gets back from his deployment. Good luck to you.
  17. Thank you, I have been to see him & he is very nice & patient. I am actually in the process of getting all my test done as we speak.
  18. Thank you so much for your responses!
  19. :confused:Has anyone had surgery by dr coon in riverside,ca? I'm getting nervous, I have my consultation on 5/15. But, I've heard & read alot of bad things, but am trying to focus on the success stories. Just the band seems painful, especially when trying to eat any kind of food or drink water! Throwing it up all the time?? YIKES! Now, that makes me feel like wow! Is it really worth it, are we going to be basically starving ourselves to lose weight...I'm caught up in I want it so bad, to help me, & yet I'm scared to live the way people kinda seem unhappy with not being able ot keep food down. Help!!! I'm at a point of should even go to my consultation or not? Any advice on the way I'm feeling?
  20. Hi Everyone, I just recently was approved for my consultation appt. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good doctor in the San Bernardino area? Maybe you or someone you knew has had experience with someone I can get an idea of what to expect with them. Thanks!
  21. Well, I went to my doctor last week & asked about Lapband surgery for me. She checked & I was a candidate for it. So, she gave me a referral for it. Then on Monday I inquired into places for it, I filled out the pre-op questionairre & had to call my doctor back & have her send in my referral to my insurance & now I"m just waiting to hear something. Do you know how long that can take?
  22. Good luck Emily's Dad! I'm also in the very beginning stages of trying to get in for the procedure. I so hope I get approved too!
  23. Thanks so much for the info! Yes, it can be CRAZY with 5! Especially since the last 2 (TWINS) was a double whammy! LOL! Did you have the procedure done already?
  24. Thanks for that extra information. Out of pocket expenses for me will be hard being that I have 5 children. They range from 17 - 2 yrs old. My husband is active duty & will be going on deployment in the next couple of months. So, I need to be very careful with our money spending. I need to make note of all the extras that I will need to be paying for that my insurance won't cover. Thanks again!
