  1. I was scheduled to have a lap band revision on June 22nd to move to the sleeve. Life had other plans! I found out yesterday that I am pregnant! I am very excited, but also surprised as we were not trying (but we also were not trying). I currently have the lap band, and have had it for years. Anything I need to be aware of?

    June 2019 sleevers

My surgery is scheduled for the 22nd! I am having a revision from the band. I dont know until after the surgery if they are able to remove the band and sleeve me in the same surgery. SO hoping he is able to do it at the same time, but am honestly just more excited about getting this damn band out!
  3. I am pre-op for my sleeve so take my advice for what it is! I had the lap band about 10 years ago, and realize now I was not ready for the band when I had it placed. I am also a over eater and realized through several years of therapy that I actually had BED (Binge Eating Disorder). Once I started to get help for that, everything else fell into line. I am no longer gaining weight but instead am maintaining my weight (I also feel prepared for my sleeve!). Something to think about, as food is a complex and complicated issue for most of us. If you constantly feel like you are beating your head against a wall, sometimes it is time for some outside help to give you some coping skills. I first started with overeaters anonymous, and then went on to counseling sessions.
  4. I am getting excited! I am having a revision done (from the band). Anyone else have a revision from a band? Any tips and tricks for me?
  5. Hello! I just scheduled my surgery for Dr. Alvarez at Endobariatrics. I will be having a lap band revision to a sleeve. to say I am nervous is an understatement. I had always had "thoughts" previously about having surgery in Mexico but after a ton of research I feel good about my decision. Did anyone else have surgery with them? How did it go?
