  1. Well, I am back to say I have not booked a further fill. I only have about 20 to go and think I can do it without more fill.....I'D LIKE MORE FILL, but there ARE times when I feel tight at 3.0, other times I don't feel tight at all. So with the variation I am now getting, I will work harder at the gym and at my food choices. So in answer to the above question. Feeling full for me, doesn't feel like before banding. It is hard to describe, I have tried to take more notice and can feel what people are talking about when they say a soft or hard stop. When I am in control, I eat until I am satiated physically. My head wants to eat more but my stomach is comfortable and I have even noticed a hiccup. If I stop there I am good. That for me is a soft stop. When I am ravenous, or my eyes are bigger than my stomach, or if I don't chew enough, I will get a hard stop. That is when my stomach is full, but the message hasn't reached my brain yet and I will Water at the mouth and need to spit, pb, or whateveryouwanttocallit. I call that a hard stop. Anyway, cheers to all of us at our various fills. And much continued success......
  2. argon, Jack and ladydi, RIGHT ON..... LET'S GO Let the countdown begin. I am pumped this morning. I got my wonderful 3 kids off to school. They start all their extracurricular activities this week and so does mommy. Today is drag mommy's rear end back to they gym today. I am dressed and as soon as I finish this Protein shake, I am on my way. So intent must have an action plan. This is my plan for the day and week and month. I am going to the gym, and/or walking with my dh every single day. Plan to go to the gym 3 times to do cardio and weight training. I love walking with my dh every night. I have junked the junk food and have a house full of healthy foods, focusing on fruits, veggies and Proteins. Non processed. I am focusing on drinking my H2O, I have neglected that this summer. My goal this month is to get to 189, :whoo:so all I am asking of myself is to lose 1 pound a week. And I can do that..... Who hoo, what is your plan of action? Post it here and then just do it!:clap2::clap2::clap2: 20
  3. Hey, nothing saying you can't count down the last 70 pounds. CAUSE YOU ROCK GIRL!
  4. Thanks girl, you are looking awesome btw, saw your most recent pics on the Before and After thread. AWESOME you!!! OK, I am in the other section now, counting down to goal, If you care to join me, please do. Lots of good discussions going on there too. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f109/countdown-goal-40958/
  5. OK, I am here for support in counting down the last 20 - 25 pounds. I have been at a standstill since June. I have lost 85 pounds, I now weigh about 195. At 5'11" I need to get down below 180 to get into the healthy BMI range. so I am aiming at 172-175....So about 20 to go. Part of me doesn't believe I will ever get there. Never been there for more than about 5 minutes...lol! So I need to work on a positive attitude. I am at a fill of 3.0 in a 4.0. I could get a small fill, but should be able to do it on this fill. It varies so much from week to week. Some days I am able to eat anything and others I am tight, so that is a bit confusing. I have taken the summer off the band rules, been imbibing in too much ice cream, chips and booze. So there is my confession. I also took a break from the gym, so I am vowing to go back TOMORROW. My 13 year old updated my IPOD, so I am R.E.A.D.Y. Please join me in a count down to goal. All support and advice is appreciated.... 20
  6. Very inspirational Gaffer. You look really great and happy, not to mention HANDSOME! Thanks for sharing.
  7. Funny, but I don't think even one person said a thing until I lost 80 pounds....I was hoping because they didn't notice how big I got. hahahahaha, but now I think some of them think I have lost enough and are saying enough already....
  8. I needed a place to complain about those last few pounds. I am about 20 pounds from goal and boy is this the hardest weight to lose. Please lets offer each other some support on taking those last few off and any advice and encouragement, I'd sure appreciate. I am not ready to call goal yet.... I have just gone off all summer drinks and wine. I typically do not drink much, just the odd weekend, dinner or occasion, but I need to get off the weekend summer drinks. I am going back to the gym Monday, I promise, I have also neglected that this summer. So cheers and come join me on losing the next or last few pounds. SOS, needing support. PS, part of me feels as though I will NEVER reach goal, so must also change my mind set.
  9. Yes, and for some reason, Quaker Harvest Crunch (granola cereal) goes down really well. I eat is as cereal or put some on my yogurt. Yes, and very good on the fiber....
  10. I always keep protein powders on hand for breakfasts or just those times when you need a protein boost. I also have meal replacement bars on hand, I can eat one of those slowly when I am tight. I also like those tiny cans of tuna in mayo or salmon salad. V-8 I have a juicer and can drink a few carrots.... I have a liquid multi-vitamin, I hope you do too. We don't need to go over the 'unhealthy' alternatives do we? :speechles
  11. And I have had very few fills my first year. I didn't have to pay for them so, yes, every doctor is different. My fills are shown in my siggy.
  12. I do however warn anyone spending money on new clothes on the way down. Over the past year, I could name a few things that were simply a waste of money, because they didn't fit for too long. But, what a wonderful problem to have experienced hey?
  13. quote=TracyinKS;529130]3 rd fill yesterday ..... 3.5 cc's in my 4cc band...... liquids til tomorrow, and then I'll know how it does with solids. Tracy and Gilbert, how do your fills feel? I am wondering about getting a fill to 3.2..........just wondering how you are doing with yours....
  14. Does anyone know the actual size of the banded pouch in ounces and the actual size of the band when it is filled to capacity. I am just so curious all of a sudden. I see some of you at max fill and I am wondering the diameter of an unfilled band and a filled to the max band...... I am sure it varied, but wondering if there is an answer to my question.
  15. Too lazy to read everything above, but I go on an empty stomach and I make sure i am fully dydrated. The day before I make sure I don't eat salty things and I make sure I drink my 8 glasses of Water. I usually make an appointment in the morining on an empty stomach. After a fill, I make sure i have a Protein shake for lunch. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Also, there is an excellent post somewhere about just this topic.
  16. Lol! I sure hope not. Hey, I am 44, I don't 'get' 80's parties. It feels like it was just yesterday. Ya, it's the shoulder pads that I don't ever want to see ever again. In fact, I am going to go toss a few of them right now. Make more room for my new size 12 pants I am going to go buy this weekend.:whoo:
  17. I have clothes from the 80's that I hesitate to give away, don't know why. But I have NO problem giving away my fat girl clothes. I am over a year out now and I dn't miss them, don't wish I had kept anything, and KNOW I will never need them ever again. As long as I have my little friend, I am on the road to a healthy weight and smaller size clothes. Good luck. It is hard at first, but it will get easier. Cheers
  18. I answered 'of course I'd do it again' in another post, but I often think of what if I NEVER had the lap band. I'd be at my heightest weight STILL. I'd be looking at what NEXT program to try. What ELSE should I spend my hard earned money on? I'd be feeling all the negative emotions of self-defeat. Wondering what to wear this summer. I feel blessed, and yes I'd do it all over again, in a heartbeat. What would you be doing and feeling if you had not had the lap band?
  19. I posted my one year anniversary and now I am wondering how people do on average in their second year. I have about 25 more pounds to go. I am not trying too hard this BBQ and wine season......but come September, I am buckling down again. How are you or did you do in your second year of bandland? Thanks in advance.
  20. Weight loss is in slooooooooooo moooooooooooooooootion! But to be honest, I have been partaking much more alcohol this summer than usual and eating more of the bad stuff. But my fill is still pretty good. I am going to be more serious about my good food this month and come September, I am gonna rock on hard. I am determined to beat the odds of a 60% weight loss. I am aiming to lose 100%..... 20-25 more to go..... How is everyone else doing on their current fill. I'd love to hear. I am thinking, one more small fill to 3.2 and I will be there.
  21. Hello everyone! I'd love to hear from everyone banded in July 06 about where your fill is after one year. I have the 4.0 max band and I am at 3.0ccs. I'd love to know where you are after one year. Thanks in advance.
  22. Wow, just came home from a wonderful cruise to Alaska. What a beautiful country! What a beautiful cruise! and What beautiful FOOD! Lol! Just wanted to report on my experiences. I am banded one year today, thank you, thankyouverymuch. I just got home from an Alaska cruise yesterday. I loved the company, I loved the countryside, I loved the food, or at least what I could eat of it. In my experience, travelling does cause my band to tighten. I am told that elevation changes shouldn't affect the band. But I hear that stress does, so if anything, that is what tightened me this past week. Was I bothered by the tiny amounts that I could fit into my little pouch? yes, sometimes I was. But I have to report that I tried a bit of everything that I wanted and have no regrets as to what I may have left behind on my plate. I WAS however THRILLED with my new size 12 pants from Ricki's, my whole wardrobe in fact. The feeling of not being embarrassed walking from my lounger to the pool and hot tub. The wonderful compliments I got from my family and friends. Today I am 85 pounds thinner than I was one year ago. I have 20 pounds to go to get to my goal. I feel younger, healthier and more energetic than I have felt in a lifetime of fighting my weight. I am so grateful for this surgery and the positive changes it has brought to my life.
  23. Haven't been here for at least a week, but just wanted to comment on the variability of a fill 3.0 has been for me. I just went on a cruise with BEAUTIFUL and PLENTIFUL food and only a banded nervous person like me could lose weight. I was so nervous or something made me tight. FOr some reason travel makes me tight, I KNOW altitude should make any different, but perhaps retaining fluid does. So anyway, I couldn't eat much, but got a taste of everything I wanted and came home about 3 pounds lighter...........have to say I am loving that. I am glad to hear you got a fill from the good doctor Gilbert. I am here rooting for you my sister. Tomorrow is my one year anniversary and I can NOT believe it. I am 85 pounds lighter, but SO much lighter in my mind. I feel like I have gained a new life. Hugs to all my friends. Keep losing.....hugs
