Coffee 2 months out??
i am 7 weeks out and I have had coffee the last 3 days, even sometimes with half and half! ( omg, i know! ) and I am still alive. As was said, different programs are different. I am guessing that as there is no real consensus go ahead, its not like you are smoking meth after all.

Smoking 1 month after surgery
We all know smoking is bad and you should not ever do it, but this is your life and YOU need to decide if the pleasure you get from smoking is worth the cost of your overall health.

First thing you ate when you were cleared for normal food
D Day is here. I am 6 weeks out and clear to eat whatever I want. I thought about good, homemade chilli but I have noticed anything spicy, ie pepper, or peppers, gives me heartburn now. I had considered sushi, but I have a feeling the wasabi may do the same thing. For now, its a large cup of hot, black, fully caffeinated coffee

Extreme Heartburn
I started getting heartburn about week 4, when I started eating soft foods. I never really had it before and I think it was due to me using black pepper on my chicken.. I am sure the jalapenos i cooked with said chicken did not help either.?

Diabetic and sleeved
I am 6 weeks out and my sugars are between 90 and 111. totally off any and all meds at the moment.

Pain meds
not really, plus it puts me into zombie mode, even the day time stuff. and its not allergy related, its more air pressure related.

Pain meds
Ok, i tend to get sinus headaches every time the weather changes and here in the PMW that's daily. Tylenol does not do a damn thing for it. I used to take Ibuprofen but that's off the table now. What do y'all take for pain. Seems we are very limited unless we go outside the box, Ie Canada for those low dose vicoden or down the street to the pot shop which I am sure our Doctors would frown upon.

weight gain
From what I understand, weight gain will happen. Its important though to see what the cause is and correct it.

BMI OF 31 AND 35 LB TO LOSE. IS IT WORTH IT?
I know when I would stall when trying to lose weight before surgery, id cut the carbs and my weight would drop and drop pretty fast.. I just love bread and pasta to much to stay with it

Must haves for right after surgery
+1 on Miralax, if you get plugged up, you dont want to push against your incisions. Herbal tea, I used alot of peppermint, supposed to sooth a upset stomach. also maybe flavor for your water.

my week 4 experiments
yeah, this was some organic stuff, it was on the recomended list. I think the problem was the cheyenne pepper I put in it ?
-
my week 4 experiments
yeah, funny how things go like that. Sofar the only thing my stomach objected to was the tomato cream soups and that was week 1. Cottage and greek yougurt go down fine, even 2% fat stuff ( which I had to get as the store was out of the 0 i normaly get. ) Next on the list is lunch, Sardines and triscuites , Wish me luck

***Qustions for Sleevers***
Questions for sleeves: Do you feel you were given enough information on this procedure pre op and post op? More then enough. Did they explain that you will still feel real and head hunger with any surgery procedure? Or tell you hunger will go away? Yes, said I had to really becareful because I will be losing weight regardless of my diet for a while, but it will soon all catch up and unless I really watch what I am eating, it will all be gained back. Did they give you clear instructions on how to work your plan? Yes, 6 meetings with a nut, 2 with PT, 1 with the surgeon and a class pre op. Was the psych evaluation just a hoop to jump through? Would you have benefited doing more therapy before surgery? I saw it as really unnecessary, personally I could see the trap questions so I really could answer to whatever I wanted them to think. Were your follow up appointments with your surgeons and dietician helpful? Sofar, I am only 1 month out. next app is in 2 weeks Did you understand that you can gain weight back? Did they help with a list of instructions and things to do and not to do? Yes If you had regain, did you contact your team and were they helpful? N/A

How to get back on track
If it were me, id take a deep breath then go back to the basics, drink drink drink, protein before anything else and really watch your portion size. You can do it! ?

Anyone else use flinstones vitamins?
my Nut said twice a day as well, plus I always want to second guess a recommendation from someone trying to sell you something. That being said I do have 3 bottles of the chew able tabs from here.

How to avoid?
My thinking is do not deny yourself.. just use moderation when you have it. Make a little bowl of ice cream a weekly treat, not a every day thing. I know though for some people this will not work and its going to be a struggle to not eat the whole half gallon so if you can constrain yourself, then have your ice cream!

What Are the Surgeons Telling Their Patients?
I can see the reasoning on his thinking. I think the most important thing is for you to be happy. We ALL have the same problem, but we all are different and have different mindsets on how we are going to continue on this journey. for some its what they eat, for others its how much they eat, and others its both. Do what is going to work for you. eat cake, eat pizza, just dont eat the entire thing.?

Question about drinking with meals
for my program, the 1st 2 week liquid died included soups like that, I assume it all counts as the same. Soups, broth, water, jello, pudding and yogurt. I did as I assumed it would all be ok as they were counting them as the same.. maybe someone from another program can chime in

First thing you ate when you were cleared for normal food
my Nut told me the same thing about Salmon. I am about to go into soft foods and she said Fish is ok, just avoid Salmon unless its caned.
