    Helloooooooo anyone there

I know I am confusing myself:) I went to the first of the five meetings Dr. Wagner puts on for Behavior modification. The support group meeting is on the 23rd, and I'm going to that. Not sure what the meeting on the 9th was. You haven't been banded yet right?
  2. I checked the state medical board and it gave me their schooling and license number, but didn't mention lap band. I have met with them and have seen other associations they belong to and just hearing them talk about it in person in front of over 100 people was pretty convincing(especially when their faces lit up when they talked about how amazing it was to actually see an external change in the people they operated on).
  3. They are amazing. I don't make them, but I have given one out and it was such a powerful gift. How did your seminar go?

    New Type of Band

I just saw the new version of the Lap Band on Friday. It has the saline ring that goes all the way around and the ring extends beyond the band and the explaination I got was that the wider ring and the consistant pressure all the way around makes it more difficult for the slippage to happen. The nurse said that the slippage-or the larger part of the stomach slipping up through the band was thought to happen in the 25% of the band that didn't have the inner saline ring and that lack of pressure made it the place that slippage happened. I hope this helps! They also called this one the LapBand AP. Moe

You are in Dover right? Dr. Wagner said that he was expecting about 15 people, so we should be able to locate each other. The seminar was huge!
  10. Hi everyone! Is anyone starting the behavior modification classes tomorrow in Portsmouth? How about the support group meeting on June 23rd? Moe

    Helloooooooo anyone there

I called and when I spoke to Nancy she said I could call Dr. Wagner and schedule my appointment with him. I called him and he called me twice the same day to make sure we were all set. As far as I know everyone has to see the PT people. I'm hoping they will let me see the group in Rochester to save some gas, but I'll find out on the 13th:biggrin2:

    Helloooooooo anyone there

Thanks Diana, I agree that it should not be an easy process. When I spoke to Nancy and she said "we wouldn't be doing you any favors if we let you have it done any sooner than the two month mark". I know she has my success in mind and commend them for it, I just get very impatient now that I finally have made up my mind:biggrin: Are you going to the support meeting in June? Thanks, Moe

    Helloooooooo anyone there

Hi Ladies! I am just north of Dover in Milton. There are a few of us comparing notes on Portsmouth. i also went to the May info night. I weighed in and turned my application the day after the seminar. I just got my appointment for the 13th of June, one day shy of a month...I think they got all the applications in and most of the people I have spoken to have a summer time-frame for surgery. Just keep on them and get that appointment. Just a heads-up, the five week Behavior Modification class starts with Dr. Wagner on June 18th, I would at least see if you can start that so you wont have to wait for the next one to start. This class is not due to end until July 23rd, because Dr. Wagner is on vacation the end of June. Hope this helps and keep in touch! Moe

    New NH person

Hello! They mentioned at the seminar that each insurance policy has to have the rider for the surgery. I called my insurance and asked. You could call the office or send them an email, but I think they are going to say wait until the seminar. If I talk to them, I will ask them. With most of the insurances they said if your insurance covered it, you should be all set. They did say Medicare/medicaid were not covered, but they mentioned the out of pocket cost may be higher with some insurances, but I'm not sure which ones. I looked through my packet and it doesn't mention HP. Basically it's a long answer that says I don't know, but I will ask if I get a chance:wink2:
  24. Sounds great Trish, I sent an email to you. Good luck! Moe
  25. Congrats! I'm in NH also waiting for my day. I just started the process and I'm hoping to have it done in July, but we will see. I've heard a lot of stories of people having to wait longer. I'm ready for a change and hoping the process moves along. Keep in touch! What hospital did you go to? I'm going through Portsmouth.
