My goal was 140 because that's what I used to be a few years ago. My dietitian agreed I should be between 135-140. I am STILL losing weight and now at 120 and think I still look good. I am surprised because I thought I would look sickly. I am afraid to lose more though because I will be in kid's clothes. =/

I hate Water and it is my most difficult challenge, Do not go ape **** crazy measuring oz's Sip it and do what you can I am a big guy and a Nutritionist told me to shoot for 48 - Also remember eat moist foods, easy to swallow and digest and they have water. For example I brine chicken first so it is loaded with water. One thing that saves me is pop sickles - The ones in the plastic tubes off Amazon. I make them and flavor them and at electrolytes.
I feel for you - Water is a pain in the ass for some people

IDK. If we are classifying obesity as a disease and metabolic surgery as the cure then shouldn't it be available as an option.
Tons of radical life saving treatments are performed on children without their permission or understanding of future ramifications.
I'm not certain I could watch my child suffer for years and years if there are better options available

He's anybody gotten a permanent? I had my hair cut short, thought that it would be easier to take care of, Maybe I'm just getting picky but it seems to be tufty, hard to control, tried to mousse it , just plastered it to my head and made it stiff. I just don't know, Tomkitten says I still look okay but maybe he's l etting love blind him.?

If you like your sweets like I do, you've got to try this recipe I made yesterday. It rocked my world!
2 scoops of chocolate Protein Powder
    10 packets of splenda
1/4 cup of smooth Peanut Butter
    1/4 cup of margarine
You melt the peanut butter and margarine in a small saucepan just enough to soften it, then you mix it with the dry ingredients, press the mixture into a square pan and chill it in the refrigerator for an hour, then cut into squares.
I made my first batch last night and wow oh wow was it good! What a treat for this sweet tooth and so filling.
Nutritional info: 9 servings - 60 calories per serving, 6 g Protein per serving, 2.5 g fat per serving, 4 g carbs per serving, 2 g sugar per serving

Friday205 reacted to Missouri-Lee's Summit in Im sure hundreds have felt this way BUT MY BOOBS ARE GONE!
I'm too old and too "done" with trying to be anything other than healthier. My boobs are deflated and saggy to China. My bowels still seem to have very little holding power. I've lost track of the number of times I've left a feces trail to the bathroom or lost my load right on the kitchen floor. It's as if my bowel muscles don't exist or all the rejiggering has shortened my "holding tank". I'd love for someone to explain the anatomical changes with my bowels. After one year, leaking is still a problem. And the smell. It's nothing like I've ever smelled. It's almost like it's not fully processed and comes out before the necessary flora or enzymes have had a chance to break things down. Bleach is a necessary standby. I feel like an incontinent old dog or something. It's humiliating. Should I consider wearing a diaper when I go out? I now keep a big pan under my bed so if I can't get to the bathroom in time (or it's occupied) I have a place to go other than the floor at my feet. It's a feeling like know other. I can relate to other people now, like my mother with dementia, who has her fair share of accidents. The shame I feel is hard to get past. I've started seeing a therapist. Amazingly, she has a history of her own... a mini-bypass sixteen years ago. It's nice to have someone understand my continuing body dysphoria, my bowel leaking, boob disappearance, etc.-- that on top of everything else going on. It's actually the "everything else" that creates the most distress in my life but I try to tell myself that we all have mountains of stress (just different circumstances) and I can get through this and more and be a stronger person for it. Anyway, I'm trying my best.
This site is the one place for me to continue venting, even after one year. It's a place of peace and non-judgmental acceptance. I don't know how many times (particularly in the beginning before and right after my surgery) when someone like Matt Z, AlteredRealty, Frust8, GreenTealael, FluffyChix and many others... who came to my rescue with good advice and much-needed empathy. I've needed you all less as time goes by, but when I do need someone... someone is always here. That is a feeling that has no monetary value. This site is invaluable to many of us for so many reasons. Thank you to all who have cared about me or helped me selflessly in big and small ways.

I had my surgery on May 1st with a BMI of 34. I am 5’3” and was 193 lbs on day of surgery. I am 142 lbs today. So, I’ve lost 51 lbs in almost 4 months. It’s not easy. It’s only a tool and you have to use it wisely.

I have a BMI of 36. I have not had surgery yet but I am getting the sleeve done in September. I lost 48 pounds on my own. I had many doubts but I had to take in account want I wanted for my future. I have 3 kids that I want to be around for them and possible future grandchildren. The longer you are over weight the more stress your body is in. I don't want life long troubles with diabetes or heart disease. Someone told me to think of the surgery as one tool added to your other methods of lossing weight. Even if you have the surgery your still putting in all the work needed to loose the weight. You still choose what you eat and you still have to exercise. I have not had a life long struggle with weight. I had some health issues that brought on some weight. In 2016 I had a complete hysterectomy. I went to 135lbs. Then I went to 165lbs when my daughter was admitted to the hospital for 3 months. I got down to 150 lbs until April 2018 when I broke my ankle. I went up to 238 lbs. I am now down to 193 lbs. I have injures, I am not as young so my metabolism is not what it use to be. I need an assist. I choose surgery. My primary doctor did not know much about weight loss surgery when I asked for a referral. I saw him today for my 3 month A1C. He said he started looking into the surgeries and agreed with me that the sleeve was a good option due to my diabetes, sleep apnea, and high cholesterol. My bariatric doctor told me people with a BMI as low as 30, in other countries are getting weight loss surgery ( mostly gastric bypass) to treat diabetes. My bariatric doctor asked me if I had cancer would I get chemotherapy or radiation? I said yes. I have decided on getting the VGS. This surgery reduces the size of my stomach, removes the part of the stomach that controls hunger hormones and cravings among other things.
On the emotional relationship for food, I believe we all have an emotional relationship with food on some degree. If you want to be well educated and get the best result out of surgery I would suggest seeing a therapist. Even if you don't have surgery see a therapist. You need to know what triggers you to eat and learn alternate and positive coping techniques. You can read any story anyone shares on this sight and the biggest reason they choose surgery is to be at a healthier weight regardless of what their BMI number started at. I hope this helps you. I find out my surgery date this Friday. So my date will be some time this September.

I like them too. They are pretty yummy!
I would be a little worried about eating that many a day for myself, though.
The ones I have also have 15 cals per serving and 4g of carbs. At 12 a day that means 48g of carbs and 180 extra cals. I would blow past my carb limit pretty quick and I wanna chew (and chew) those extra 180 cals if I can. LOL!
(EDIT: I don't count my own carbs net wise right now, just totals. See below for net carbs. Sorry for any confusion.)
That said, only you know what is good for you and your journey. You are your best gauge, and YOU get to decide.
If you feel like you are doing well, you are on your doctor's plan and feel good then no, it isn't too many.
Congratulations on your weightloss, that is awesome!
