Hello, I was banded May 7th 08, and am really disappointed. I went last week for another fill --got 1/2 cc. which puts me up to a total of 8cc"s and I've lost only a whopping total of 10 lbs. I think I may be getting some restrictions but not sure. I just hope I am not stretching out my pouch. Sometimes it hurts, but I think it is when I get something stucK. I really have never felt full. I usually just stop. I hope something changes soon. I'm really depressed about this. Hate to know I spent all this money just to lose 10lbs.:)

Hi, I just want to let you know that I had to do the same. I had my surgery the 7th of May this year. I always said I wanted to quit but I really didn't. It was my friend, I related it to my quiet time and relaxation time. I did this because this is when I smoked. I also did it when I was worried or under stress and it calmed me. So it became my crutch. When they said I needed to quit before surgery it rather floored me. This was my friend something that was with me when nothing else was. But, it was either it or me. I wanted this surgery, so I quit, not alone. The doctors office gave me the prescription for chantix. I took it and I am smoke free. It's wonderful, not just the band, I have quit something that had a bigger hold on me than I thought. Now don't get me wrong, there are somedays I still crave really bad, but after taking the chantix I have the willpower to say no. I know you can do it, I did and my willpower is not that great. Good luck and Just think how bad you want this surgery and believe me you will find the willpower.Also ask the doctors office about a prescription. P. S. my name is Debi too. Thank you---Bodybutter64 for the moral support. I know your right but its getting old. Everyday is a new day- I just have to put my mind in the right place. You know how it is "if your mind isn't right ain't nothing gonna be right."

:sad:Guess what guys--I was banded May 7th and only had to do 1 day clear liquid before, at 1week check up I had only lost 4 lbs. After surgery, I guess the third week I was really eating normal had steak, shrimp at different times and they didn't phase me. I didn't seem to eat as much but still no restrictions. Went for my 1st fill, and had gained 2 lbs. I have the realize band and was able to get 3cc's this was Tuesday the 3rd of June, this week right. I still feel no restrictions---I even ate steak tonight. Really-just tried to see if it would go down--and yes it did, I don't know whats going on. My nurse said sometimes it takes up to 3 or 4 fills, but 3cc's and nothing. If it wasn't for my husband standing there watching them inject them I'd swear there was nothing. I am really getting discouraged, and that ain't pretty on me. I feel fairly full all day until the afternoon. I hope this thing is gonna work on me. I've seen it work on other people and know it does, but it is depressing. :wink2:

I am from Ms. but had it done in La. I am a self-pay.Cost is $13,500.00, this included everything and 1st year fills and visits.:thumbdown:

I was banded on May 7th and I have the realize band. You need to check with your Dr. to see if he can use this one some can and some can't. All that is, is some haven't been trained to use it yet. :woot:

Hi, I have been fat and have been skinny. Have heard all kind of sayings, but I saw this one on someones message the other day and I have to say it hit it just right. "Skinny tastes so good". Everytime I think of wanting just a taste of something bad, I just think of this and believe you me it hits home. If you don't understand it now, you will.:thumbup:

I too think I have a problem with the air bubbles. I was banded on May 7th and am having to learn to drink differently. I have another question for you guys---. I thought I read somewhere that someone said when blending a smoothie be careful because it seems to add alot of air bubbles in your drink. I find that true, so how do I blend up a fresh fruit smoothie w/protein in blender with out all the foam. It seems like the foam stays forever. I can go back after an hour or so and its still there. With all the foam or fluff in it, it seems to bloat me up worse.:thumbup: I feel worse instead of better after my protein drink.

I used Dr. Thomas Lavin, great Dr. As for the LA group being late, yes they got me in later than suppose to but I still left hospital by 3:15 on my way home. Their bedside manner makes up for not being on time and also the price since I was self pay (13,500.00). This was for everything and 1st year checkups and fills. The Dr.s office personal is wonderful and so is Southern Surgical Hospital. Even though I was later than suppose to be it was well worth it. They where just great. I would recommend them both Hospital and Dr.s to anyone.

I'm on day 4 and feeling better, just having coughing spells that make one side hurt like !!!!! Been walking a good bit. Walked up to moms few times yesterday.Hope to do more today!:welldoneclap:
