I had my gastric bypass surgery on March 21st 2019. Could anyone please give me an idea of the maximum number of carbs I should be taking in daily at this point. I don’t want to be consuming too many.

Thank you!It was about a month before i started to get full relief. Maybe if you noticed it was related to when you increased to soft food try going back a stage for a couple of days and see if that help.

3 weeks today was when I had my surgery and I totally feel the same way. It makes me feel a lot better that that seems to be normal for a lot of others also.

I am 3 weeks post op gastric bypass. I wanted to see if anyone else is still experiencing extreme soreness in their stomach after surgery. My whole abdomen is so sore almost as if I have been doing sit-ups and it hurts to turn over in bed at night. I had been doing 30 minutes of walking 1 week post op and it was fine. The only things that I have done differently lately was I recently started a soft diet and I also have started back to work. Also can anyone tell me how long it takes until your stomach actually feels normal again without pain?

Thank you!I am just like you!! I had no hunger for the longest time and even now I only have the tiniest bit. I forced myself to eat after a while because I was getting shaky but stuck to about 4 tablespoons. Even now if I have a little more than that I don't get a tight feeling. Once or twice I accidentally ate too much when I didn't measure something and I felt nauseated, but still no tightness. So you're not alone.

Thank you so much!I too have no hunger. What a feeling!!! Surgery was 3/11 and other than day one in the hospital I haven’t had any issues with any of the soft foods I’ve tried so far. However, I did have one issue when on puréed...my friend made an entire meal for us to help out. It was pork chops. I put 1.5 ounces in the processor with broth to make it smooth. Must not have been soft enough because half way through I got a tightness in the center of my chest that radiated across both breasts. I went for a walk and it passed in about 10-15 minutes. That episode was it. So you are not alone...everyone is experiencing this a little different. Keep up the good work!!

Thanks for the encouragement![emoji4]You're welcome. It's been almost 2 months and I'm still having trouble reaching my Protein and fluid goals. Dont be to hard on yourself. Good luck and God bless.

Thank you! That makes me feel better.Until you get to soft foods, the liquids and thin purees just slide right through your pouch. Once you get to the soft foods, they have enough body to stay in your pouch for a while. Don't worry, this is normal.

Thank you!Your surgeons should tell you what they want, but the recommendations generally fall into the 60-80 g range for women and 80-100 g range for men.

I have iron deficiency anemia. I get iron infusion's and they are split up into 2 separate infusions over a 2 week period. Mine hold my iron levels at a good point for several months at a time. I have no problems or adverse reactions. I go on about my day as if nothing happened. It is comparable to getting a liter of normal saline to me. Nothing to worry about. Good luck!

I had my gastric bypass surgery on March 22, 2019. I keep hearing people talk about restriction. I just advanced to very thin/pureed foods yesterday and I assumed that after about 3 Tbsp. It would feel tight or uncomfortable like everyone else does but I don't notice that going on with me. I stop eating anyway because that seems to be the stopping point for everyone else. I am not hungry but I just don't know why I can't feel anything. What the heck is wrong with me????

Rumbling tummy
in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums

I am 2 and a half months post gastric bypass surgery and it seems like my stomach is rumbling and growling and gurgling constantly to the point that I am really becoming self conscious about it. It is sooooo loud and embarrassing! It doesn’t hurt and I am not hungry but it does it anyway. I just wanted to see if anyone else has this issue and if it will be like this forever or maybe tone down a little. On the up side....I feel great!!!!!
