Sinus Congestion 1 week before surgery
Call your dr about what you can take. It won’t delay your surgery unless you have a fever. You could get some saline nasal spray and try to clear it out that way.

Have any of you dumped on purpose?
No way. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Zero Appetite
I always liked premier protein since I had my sleeve done back in early 2018. I tried to drink it afterrevision and not only does it taste nasty, I can’t keep it down. I am strictly using syntrax nectar mixed with fairlife milk now. Chocolate Truffle tastes just like chocolate milk with zero protein taste. May the least go to the grocery store and get the fairlife milk to drink. It has 13 grams per 8 ounces. If you can get 4-5 cups per day in you can hit your protein goals. You could get Hershey’s sugar free chocolate syrup and make chocomilk if you like. there are also several different clear protein drinks that may settle better with you. Protein 20 and premier makes some as well. Do your best to get the protein in as that is extremely important for healing.

Frustration with bariatric team
Woohoo!!!!! Congrats!!!!!

Zero Appetite
I just hit 4 weeks since revision to bypass and barely able to eat either. Saw my dr yesterday and he said no problem. Concentrate on protein and fluid right now. Fine to get protein from shakes.

another d*mn ulcer
Oh, I am so sorry! I just revised to bypass and fear getting ulcers as well. Had gerd and hernia with sleeve so didn’t have a choice but to revise. I do hope that you feel better soon.

Weight Loss Post-op
You are most likely losing inches that just haven’t showed up as pounds yet. Maybe consider measuring yourself once per week? Follow the instructions lan and your weight will drop. Guaranteed.

Tomorrow’s the day
I agree with all of this ^^^^^ i was not offered a block when I got my sleeve done. I was a few weeks ago when I had rny revision. The block made a major difference in pain levels. Good luck to all of you!

Hungry after Surgery
Same exact thing happened to me. I never lost my real appetite after the sleeve like many others do. I revised to rny a few weeks back due to a hernia and gerd. So far I have had zero appetite. Enjoying it while I can because I feel certain that it will be back.

I gained 13 pounds of fluid in the hospital. It was gone in the first week.

Pre-OP prep
Careful with chantix guys. It has a black box warning. Can cause suicidal tendencies in some people. correction- I just saw that warning was dropped. I still personally wouldn’t take it https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1452JJ

No eggs on purée?
I didn’t have a purées stage but I was not allowed to eat eggs until soft food stage. They are a very dense protein. I am only able to eat a bite or two at this point. Always best to follow the plan that was given to you. I feel sure that you could call your surgeons office and ask why. My office has a person there specifically to answer these types of questions. Do t hesitate to call when you are not sure if something.

Shoulder pain
I am not an expert but if I had severe left shoulder pain at any point post op I would definitely call my surgeon. Good luck!

Nervous and unsure about surgery
It took me many years and many failed diets before I decided to do this. I was scared too but I was more scared of my morbid obesity causing an early death. Ultimately the choice is yours. I think that you were referred for surgery because once we get to a certain weight it becomes next to impossible to get it off and keep it off. Good luck with your decision.

30 min no drinking rule
If you ever forget this rule and do drink right after or with a meal, you will likely get a very painful reminder. I have to keep drinks away from the table when I eat. I have slipped up a few times and it caused a great deal of pain.

No feeling in my stomach is that normal?
It is normal. I have the same thing going on. Dr told me it is because the nerves were cut during surgery. Some of the numbness can be permanent but shouldn’t be a big issue.

Shoulder pain
Call your surgeon. That can be the sign of a leak. Don’t take any chances. particularly pain in left shoulder can be a symptom. Always better safe than sorry.

Kidney stones HELP
I agree with above poster. My husband has had a very large stone. Urologist told him to add lemon to everything that he drinks to avoid having more. That was 15 years ago. No more since. Protein can cause too much or too little ( can’t recall) Uric acid. That is how stones form with too much protein in the diet.
-
3 weeks post-op
You need to put a call into your surgeon and let them know. May be reflux which is pretty common with the sleeve it seems.
-
Kidney stones HELP
I recently read somewhere that too much protein ( especially the shakes and powder) can cause stones. If I see it again I will post a link. I agree that you need to see urologist to be safe.

Food Before and After Photos
Ooh. This is the first time I have seen the garlic and herb. I get mine from Walmart and they only offer the plain. I bet that one does make a great pizza!
-
Hiccups
Yes. I get hiccups as well. Try slowing down when you drink. Your pouch is swollen so can’t really hold that much right now.

Acid reflux is seriously a pain!!
Do you have any omneprazole? I just got revised from sleeve to bypass because of hiatal hernia and gerd. The omneprazole kept the acid under control quite well. Sadly they are finding out more and more that the ppis are not safe to take long term. You really should call your surgeon before you get too much damage from the acid.
