  1. We all do wish you luck! I think it means a great deal to us all coming up to our surgery dates to hear details so we can know what to expect. Thank you all for sharing! Thoughts & Prayers are with you through your recovery. Kerry
  2. Why do you have to loose 5 lbs. before your surgery date? I don't understand. I am fortunate to have a BMI of 43 and some times a bit lower so I am not required by Dr. Kuri to do the LSD (liver shrinking diet) although something in my mind says maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to do it anyway. I am 5'5 and weigh 260 at present with surgery date of June 17th. Kerry
  3. Fill Dr. In Milwaukie, Oregon Dr. Kelly Fitzpatrick Home 503-235-6589 You can view her address on her web site. Hope this helps! Kerry
  4. What an AWESOME group June Bandster's we are! You all are such REAL people to me! I can't begin to say how thankful that I have this support group, all the information it has provided, and how elated and excited I am for each and ever one of us! "You "GO" girls! It will all be o.k. and God bless the June 2's, and 3's and on and on and on............ Kerry:wink_smile:
  5. I am so sorry you are feeling that way. I have been eating like this the last meal I will ever consume again! (Not a healthy attitude)! I took the day off work today to prepare for what's to come, although it has consumed my every thought for the past 2 months. I am glued to the computer for advise which takes up a great deal of my spare time. Emotions haven't quite hit me yet, although expect over the course of the week on the liquid diet, reality will lick in. I have the added pressure of having to cook for 200 students, breakfast and lunch for the remainder of the week! "Oh My"! I am here all day if you want to chat. I'm already planning a nap for later this afternoon to take up some time. Warm Wishes, Kerry
  6. Yea, my thoughts are the same. I have only told the 2 women friends who are traveling to TJ with me and my husband. I feel this is about me, and there is very little they can do but just let me get through these first few months on my own until I learn the ropes of the band. I am sure at some point I might have to share, but not now.
  7. Please know I am thinking of you. I think I am glad I am staying in the hospital the night before surgery so they can give me something to relax. Your family will take care of themselves and all will be well. Take care nad try to take a deep breath and enjoy the ride! Kerry
  8. Where to begin?????? My name is Kerry, I am 54 yrs. old, I live in Maupin, Oregon on The Deschutes River. I have been a classified employee for our school district for over 20 years, doing numerous jobs from running our title 1 program and writing the grants for it, teachers aid, playground atendent to present as head cook for aprox. 200 students and staff a day, breakfast and lunch. (thus just another contributer to a life long weight problem)! I will retire on December 1, 2008 with an early out with PERS. I have lived in the same community of 500 since birth, am married to a wonderful husband of 31 years in July. (anniv. 7/7/77). For the past 20 years we have owned a "vehicle shuttle business", named Deschutes River Shuttles. We transport vehicles only and employee 6 people besides DH and myself. I was a 10lb. baby and have just kept going!I have became a lifetime member of Weight Watchers and made goal 3 times in my life. I re-joined in January of this year and have struggled to get 20 lbs. off! Guss they mean it when they say "the older you get, the harder it is to loose"! Which brings me to this journey. I have researched everything, I am a self pay, will be banded on June 17th by Dr. Pedro Kury in TJ Mexico, and feel very confident with my choice of Dr. and this HUGE decision. I know I will do well as I have such wonderful support from all of you! This is a terrific time for all of us. I will start my LSD on June 3 along with Apples 2! Good Luck All, and keep us all posted so we know what to expect. Kerry p.s. Almost forgot 3 grown step-children and 2 cats.

OMG! I am so happy for you! It is a easy yet hard decision I know! I too have had to quit smoking for a surgery date of June 17th. I figure if I can stick with that I can do most anything. Life after words will just take it's course, I guess. I think everyone is different. It will deffinitley be a challange! Kerry
  10. I wonder, can a person maybe ever get TOO much Protein? I am planning on taking 1000 mg of Biotin as a supplement in fear of loosing hair. Is this crazy? Kerry
  11. Well, I have a big can of every flavor that UNJURY makes, so I should be "good to go"! Kerry I start LSD on June 3.
  12. I haven't gotten nervous yet! My pre-op diet will start around June 3, 08 with a surgery date of June 17th. I am getting everything gathered together, like protein drinks and food I can have pre and post. Bought some new undies. and a few loose fitting cloths and comfy shoes. Please know that we are all "one big happy family" now, so jitters are to be expected. I have the added concern that I have many social gatherings to attend during my pre-op diet that are going to be real chalanges! I work for a school district and may teachers are retiring at the end of this school year, so therefore, since I am the cook for the school, they expect me to entertain! Haven't quite figured that out yet. I'll, as well as everyone else, will be thinking of you and will support you in any way we can. Just think how cute you will look in 6 to 8 months out! Kerry
  13. I'm just not very computer literate, but I'm trying! I am anxious to chat with any Jazzy Junies that are getting banded on June 17th by Dr. Kuri in Tijuana, Mexico. Also, any June Bugs who may be lurking out there! Kerry :cursing:
  14. Sorry! it stands for...... "Dear Husband"! We love our spouses and never would think otherwise of them.
  15. Hi, I also am scheduled for June 17th. I am starting my 2 week pre-op diet of shakes, bars and 1 small meal a day on June 3. Good Luck! Kerry
  16. Broke the news about going to Dr. Kuri in Mexico for Lap Band today and she was wery pleased with my decision. She will provide all my medical needs once back in the states (except fills of course). Anyway that all went very very well and it is one more step towards June 17th! YEA! Kerry:thumbup:
  17. GREAT FOR YOU! Wow, June 11th! I am June 17th! You will do AWESOME! There is so much support here. We're all in the same stages of feelings, so sharing is fun. Looking for ward to hearing from you often. Kerry

  20. What is the OCC?
  21. I wish I knew, but I don't see how unless you pack it in your carry-on. I am only taking carry-on bag so don't want to use all that room for it. Kerry
  22. Apples my surgery date is also on June 17th. Hopefully we can chat back and forth as our day becomes closer and share some thoughts. Kerry
  23. Thanks so much for all the work you have put into this! Question????? How do I contact the other folks that are on my June 17th list? Is there a way to retreive their e-mail addresses? Kerry
  24. Oh I so agree! I have done a lot of research and I am very happy with my decision to go to Dr. Kuri in Tijuana. I know people personally who have went to him and have only the highest regards for him and his care. His facilities are 5 star!
  25. I am self pay and am going to Mexico for $7,500.00 with fills for life, although I will get my fills in Oregon that will cost $180.00 for first and $160.00 for additional.
