Krestel got a reaction from MrsGamgee in I CANNOT Pee!
I got my catheter out today. Holding my fingers crossed hoping that I can pee on my own.

Krestel got a reaction from MrsGamgee in May 2019 Surgeries 🎉
Good to hear you guys are doing great! Mine was on the 27th and I still have a catheter in...but I want it out soooo badly. ..and maybe a bit TMI but my bowels started again after 5 days. It was the blackest poo i've ever seen. Still having a bit of gas pain in the right shoulder when i go to bed at night, but when i walk around for a bit, it helps. Damn that phrenic nerve!
So all in all, Im still feeling like a wuss.

Krestel got a reaction from Mint2bskinny in I CANNOT Pee!
A quite funny thing happened a few moments ago...I was sitting at the Breakfast table taking my meds and Vitamins and put my overnight pee bag on the floor. Then one of my (smaller) dogs comes out from his sleeping place and uses it as a sleeping pillow. Uh oh...no no no no.

I'm wondering if all of you have some weird things that you are looking forward to after surgery?
I have a few:
Being able to eat cheese again (without feelnbg guilty) and feeling full from it Being able to look forward to only tasting a (tiny) bit of everything instead of eating lots of the first thing I like. Drinking milk again Well, they may not be all that weird, but they do seem odd in a positive way. What about you guys?

Oh, I just thought of a new one.
Being able to wear high heels without killing my feet because I'm too heavy and think I look horrible.

In hospital 8 hous after surgery. Having no problems with Water, slight stomach ache, but having problems walking (getting really dissy) and can't pee yet. Besides that my dreams and thoughts are really kafkaesque. Something tells me that Im kinda (overly?)sensitive to propofol.

The only big (and very unexpected) problem has been a pain in right shoulder and side. Apparently it is a common side effect of lapriscopic surgery.
Also, I still cant pee on my own. Kind of embarrasing when they had to use a catheter.

How is lamb btw? I LOVE lamb! Giving prio to eating Protein rich meats for the rest of my life is heaven.

I know exactly how you feel. ive has to kick myself a couple of times with the same thought. Cutting calories after surgery is probably a no-no. We need just the same calories or not more as in the pre-op diet otherwise we are limiting our recovery. I see the first few weeks as just getting back to normal...so for me posting, "I lost x lbs directly after surgery" isn't a realistic result of wls but instead a bi-product of just plain old surgery. In fact, I wont be stepping on the scales anytime soon to avoid playing that game with myself.

Same here...I wonder if the nerves havent really reconnected yet and so I dont feel anything. Admittedly, Im feeling better day by day and am starting to eat more regularly.

I thought that the GBP would entail 5-6 entry points, but I only have 4. Does anyone else have that as well? Anyone know why?

The Water hasn't really been a problem at all. I had a nasty (now quite helpful) habit of drinking water (albeit carbonated water...not POP!) all the time. So taking sips every once in a while seems really natural. My secret weapon has been a Munchkin 360 Thermos Sippy Cup. I love it! I've been keeping really watered down prune juice in it, and it tastes wonderful. (My husband was teasing me that you know you've become old when you start to turn to and like prune juice.)
Still walking around with a catheter now though. Will be getting it out next week and hopefully my muscles will find out how to work then.
