  1. My husband had his RNY almost 10 months ago and had GERD prior to his surgery. He still takes Prilosec even after losing more than 150 lbs and surpassing his goal weight in that time. I can understand your hesitation and would definitely ask your surgeon how certain he/she can be about coming off the meds after surgery.

    Preparing Your House

A wedge pillow was great the first few nights home. Couldn’t really sleep comfortably flat on my back when I got home, so having the wedge pillow really helped.
  3. Hi there! I’m just shy of 2 weeks post op from my RNY and I haven’t yet hit my target for liquid consumption. So I would say it’s totally normal as you heal that you find yourself full from meds. It’s only been within the last couple of days that I’ve been able to consume closer to 60 ounces of liquid.

    Itchy Incisions

I’m almost 2 weeks post op too and have the same issues with 3 of my 6 incisions. Waiting to apply something when I have my first follow up appointment Wednesday.

    Post-op Weight Gain

Thanks all for the reassurances. My only reference is my husband who had the same surgery 10 months ago and did not have this issue. So then I thought perhaps it happens mostly in women than men 😂
  6. Hi everyone. I’m new to this site and just had surgery on 2/27. I was wondering if any ladies who have had their surgery experienced weight gain right after surgery? The morning of my surgery they weighed me and 2 1/2 days later when I was discharged, they weighed me again and I was 11 lbs. heavier. I understand bloating but have never been so bloated that I gained that much more weight. So just curious if anyone else had a similar experience.
