My 1 year anniversary was April 15. It did go by fast! I’m not to my goal weight yet, but I’m close! One of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

I had my VSG on Apr 15...I’m down 48 lbs total, 39 lbs since surgery. I’m still struggling to get in 64 oz of fluids a day, but I’m doing better. I have no issues eating or getting in my Protein. I have to keep reminding myself that slow & steady wins the race, but being down 2 clothing sizes (almost 3!) feels great!

Yes I did! Week 3 I was at the same weight for 4 days, lost a pound and stayed there for another 3 days. I’m averaging about 2 lbs/week, which is excruciating for me, but I have to try and look at the big picture. Stay strong!

    I’m 3 1/2 weeks post op VSG
Im struggling with my fluids and Protein, which I’m sure is why my weight loss has stalled.

Oh my gosh, that’s awful! As a former GERD sufferer, I understand. What did you try and eat?

I just got my sleeve Mon, Apr 15 and came home yesterday. Things have gone really well! I’m working on my Fluid intake with my tracker sheet. My pain has been minimal, as has been my nausea. I’m mostly just tired, which is totally expected. I got my laps in at the hospital with no problems, and am making sure I get up at least once an hour during awake hours to keep blood circulating. My biggest struggle has been doing the spirometer as often as I should have in the hospital and I can tell.

Hi all! So glad to see that everyone who has gone seems to be on track for a great recovery. I was on a self imposed social media fast--I do this from time to time.
I am doing well, my surgery was last Thursday (4/11), and my follow up with the surgeon is tomorrow. I was able to hit my protein/fluid goals consistently since day 4. Days 2 and 3 were close but not quite there. Also not needing to sleep/nap, which was an issue for the first few days, but, it's a surgery, so...
I've been walking on my treadmill, not fast, but consistent. Up to 30 minutes straight.
I drove for the first time yesterday, and that went well.
I met my partner in town last night, he was having a drink after work, and ordered a salad to go. I had some hot mint tea, and Water. It was good to be out and about amongst people.
Good luck to everyone who's recovering and whose surgeries are coming up soon!

I get my sleeve on April 15th. The three weeks went by really quickly and I lost 17.2 lbs on the shakes. I am nervous by excited at the same time. It has really helped me being a part of this group. I have learnt so much from all of you. I will let you know how it went soon

I’m switching to Bariatric Fusion complete. $25 a month, 4 chewables a day that you can take 2 at a time. It’s all I’ll have to take. No additional pills except maybe Iron since I’m not absorbing it and my B12 shots that I’ve been doing for a few years. I figure $25 a month for almost all my Vitamins isn’t bad.

Congrats! I am new to this forum, but my tentative sleeve date is 04/15/2019. I am a little nervous, still working on the pre-op weight. I have eight more pounds to go.

Everyone should listen to their surgeon's plan, You trusted your surgeon to operate on you, you should trust their process. But if you really feel like you must advance your diet be sure to proceed with caution: go slow and if you feel any pain stop immediately and call your surgeon. Good luck.

    My big post op report.

Today I am 4 days post op revision from VSG to Mini Gastric Bypass.
Today I only feel discomfort and no pain at all. In fact, I haven't touched any of the pain medicine I was sent home with. Although, I do have a high tolerance for pain. The biggest issue I had with discomfort was I had a drain paced and it made it nearly impossible for me to get comfortable. I have 3 incisions and one drain "open wound" that should close on it's on. My stomach has bruised pretty bad but all in all it doesn't look so bad. The hardest part of the whole surgery was coming out of anesthesia honestly. I felt perfectly fine after. We even toured Tijuana 2 days post op and were able to walk around the beach and shops with no issues.
As far as hunger is concerned...I haven't felt hungry since my surgery at all. It's a very weird thing to me to not feel hungry because before I was always hungry. Well, Head hungry anyway. The thing about being coder after surgery has been absolutely true for me! I have been freezing all day. It's 75 degrees right now (830 pm where I am) and all I want it to bundle up in my husbands thermal PJ's and put a heated blanket on. As they have stated above...BRING CHAPSTICK. That's the only thing I didn't bring that I wish I would have.
I have opted to go back to work tomorrow because I have a job where I feel I will have no issues at all. We have filtered Water there, a way to heat up broth and I have a mini fridge in my office so thats just about all I need. I do need to remind myself to keep hydrated!
