I took advantage of my pizza craving and attempted to make broccoli and cauliflower crust pizza. I topped the broccoli with Alfredo sauce, spinach, onions, feta, bacon and tomatoes. For the cauliflower I topped it with red sauce, pepperoni, ham, onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers.

Results: both were delicious! Didn’t make me miss regular Pizza Crust at all, and tbh I think I actually like these better! They both held together nicely, didn’t flop over and the broccoli had more of a bread like consistency. I can’t see myself making this a lot just because I’m still in weight loss mode but it was a nice way to get rid of the craving!

Ok, so this is the anecdote we always share when people find out that we lived in Brisbane for a year a while back, and they almost always ask about the weather:

We arrived in July, which was winter, and we were taken aback when we saw alot of people were wearing parkas with fur-lined hoods even. We must have looked ridiculous in our shorts and sandals. But we are used to Toronto winters, so we probably built up a level of immunity, lol.

Though, come summer/December I was taking like 2-3 showers a day from all the sweating. The poor Kid was almost comatose from the heat.

But whatever, it was probably one of the most enjoyable, peaceful years I've had in my life, so its all good.

    I ❤️ Brisbane.

Will you be my tour guide? Let's go to Brisbane and meet up with Ms. Emma Peel!

You have so much to look forward to!!! 50 pounds! Wow. Congratulations... well on your way. So very excited for you. Don't hesitate to share your milestones with us. We've celebrated and watched one another drop clothing sizes into our final goals. Fun! i.e. 3X shorts into these size 4 washed blue jeans + XS leather jacket in 1 year and 8 months.

Thank you, Ms. VSG Barbie - I needed that today. Are you a fan of the edible fruit, too? Summer peaches and cherries rules in my book... I eat them all season long. Hugs!

  7. Oh life is but a bowl of cherries! Ran around doing errands today before covidcane hovers our coast tonight. Quick and easy button up comfy cotton/silk dress.

    Live the white @Dtrain84.

Yep, winter here in Australia @GreenTealael. My darn outdoor gas heater wouldn’t work last night so we had to cuddle together on my deck under many throw rugs. Funny we never chose to go inside though. Wore my over the knee boots, & put a cashmere blend hip length fitted cardigan over the top & belted it for extra warmth. Found my old three barrel curling ward so put some messy waves in my hair. Looks a bit fluffy though.

Wearing all white for few hours I have free today. Beard trim and perhaps some shopping to add to the wardrobe before heading in to work.

Go Eagles, white knight! That mischievous grin would suggest you're up to far more than just shopping. Haha. Any touch downs made with new additions to the wardrobe?

Made a big pot of chicken & corn chowder (not authentic) yesterday so we would have something a little more nutritious & warming than nibbles with our drinks last night. It looks more stew-like but I added a more stock before serving with diced crispy bacon, chives & a swirl of cream. Though I asked everyone to take all their leftovers home, I have a fridge of cheeses, dips, homemade Japanese curry sauce & boxes of cracker biscuits.

I'll take some leftover chicken + corn chowder home! Looks delicious. Great winter dish. Have you had any snow yet? Will you take a snow scape picture when you do? ;]

  11. The Emotional First + Aid Kit (A practical guide to life after Bariatric surgery), second edition, by Cynthia L. Alexander, PsyD is a handy little reference I've enjoyed. A sense of humor doesn't hurt either. Even the mainstream are struggling with food given these precarious times. A good time to give grace to ourselves - And, to bestow before others. ;]

GQ? I'll take that, lol! I thought hard about wearing the shorts. Once I kept looking at my bowed bony chicken legs in those shorts, I opted for the pants. Lol!

I only noted that nice trim waistline and those upper body muscles in action, myself.

Another quick update because it's been 5 days since my extended brachioplasty. I saw the surgeon and nurse today for my follow up appointment. The bandages are off and the drains are out! I'm allowed to shower again! I feel like a new woman! YAY!!! I haven't taken any pain killers at all today. Things are a bit itchy, my skin has small rashes from where the compression bandages are (this is just my pale sensitive skin doing its thing), so I'm supposed to use body lotion - except on the incisions. I also got a new compression garment. I'm tempted to order another one on Amazon so that I don't have to frantically wash it all the time, but we'll see. My surgeon's clinic also gave me a cute gift bag with a nice note, products and some fancy chocolate.

Feeling so happy and thankful. Hope everyone else is doing well!

Oh LaLaDee! Congratulations. How exciting. I'm so glad everything went famously and right on schedule. This is good news. I can already tell you will have beautiful svelte arms to wear any summer dress you desire when warm weather arrives in your parts. You have so much to look forward too... Happy healing, and a continued good week giving yourself lots of TLC. Posies + hugs.

RYou look fabulous @Dtrain84. And Jake, you always look great.

So lovely to welcome our new comers too. Hope you’ll become frequent posters.

By the way, has anyone heard from Angiebear? I hope she’s ok.

Because we had to cancel our girls’ trip to Spain, we’ve decided to do a weekend away at an upmarket retreat in the mountains here in Queensland in September. We’ve decided to go all out & will be helicoptering up & back (45min trip). The views will be spectacular & we’re very excited. Anyway, our private lodge has a spa on the deck so I’ve been forced to buy some swimwear - first time in 18yrs. Thought you’d be amused by my choice - ain’t no one seeing my saggy baggy skin & I am very fair so there is some sensible logic in my choice.

Please take pictures for us from the helicopter! FUN. Will you parachut out (under the rotary blades that is...) like Jake would? September trip sounds fabulous. Actually, I love this look for you. It's a fun cross between surf gear wet suit and vintage swim wear. And, in your signature black to boot. ;]

@Sophie7713 man you have keen eye. You can spot clothing material from a grainy pic and name shoe styles from a tiny peek under a hem! Your white dress is adorable, and looks absolutely breezy. Is it still sweltering down in FL? P.S. and Bobby is the perfect accessory, lol

@JRT Mom well technically, I'm 5' 1½"...I round up to make myself feel better. I do think I tend to look taller than I really am when I'm standing by myself. But as soon as a regular height person is next to me, my height challenges are quite apparent. I look I've been zoomed out when I stand next to the Kid. Also, heels are my friend, as is the google search "what to wear when you are short".

@GreenTealael One word: SMOKIN'. Ok, ok, 6 more words: I WANT TO BITE YOUR A$$.

Yes, it was sweltering that day. My hair was glued to my head. Hair spray melt down. LOL. And, this was by the intracoastal with an 102 breeze. Actually, summer has not been to oppressive this year. I just wear lots of comfy natural cottons and linens. Lot's of air holes + ventilation in this blouse. ;] Synthetics never breath - At least for me here in sub-tropical land. How has your summer been?

I went out today to look for bargains that I can add to my wardrobe and lunch at a restaurant (outdoor). I wrestled for a few over what I should wear with the tshirt. I eventually went with the pants even though it was 95 degrees. I took a close up selfie which I normally don't do. I hope I didn't crack your phone screens, lol!

I know I have caught it! I'm counting the days until we are off to a mountain cabin vacate AND NO COOKING! Hubby can grill and I might agree to make a SIMPLE salad or better yet - take some carrot sticks out of a bag. Tonight's dinner date out. Shared a salad first, then nibbled a few bites of Mr. Sophie's Pasta ricotta rolls with meatballs + pork bites. The Chicago hotdog was in honor of our honeymoon in Chicagoland late summer 1994. Ate the hog dog ends without bun. Some leftovers for the week.

I'm guessing part of the reason @ms.sss was able to have a lot done in a relatively short amount of time, is because of how thin she is/was. What was your total amount removed? Like a 1/2 lb, maybe even 1/4 lb?

Silly Kitty makes a very good point here. Each surgeon needs to evaluate one's age, health, skin type, pain threshold and flesh amount to be removed. For myself, I had stretched my petite frame beyond extreme at 5 feet. Even a few inches would have spread the wealth. LOL. Surgery for tummy + breast lifts past December was six hours from prep to recovery. My recovery was smooth, concise and without issue. Close to 6 - 7 pounds of skin removed! Interestingly, while my weight loss had stabilized - my body responded positively in other ways to the plastic surgery procedure. Day of surgery - I weighed 130 pounds. 1 1/2 months later - I settled in at 118. Now, 115. My arm lifts are scheduled 7 months from December surgery. I have very heavy upper arms, and suspect each may weigh 1 pound!? Soooo, that might mean a final weight of 113 pounds in the end. Do not plan on inner thigh skin to be removed. I can manage and conceal that pretty well. That being said, I am amazed at the Art and Science - Skill + Talents available to us with WLS and plastics to help us arrive at our best selves! So thankful and at awe of all our wonderful transformations! Other than the COVID thing - I'm really enjoying my slimmest happiest summer of adult lifetime. Game changer, indeed!
