Anyone put on a one month liquid diet??

I didn't have to do any pre op diet. Just 24 hours before surgery I was on a liquid diet. 4 weeks seems a little much. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Day 3 Post-Op Help

I was in terrible pain for almost two weeks. I was sleeved March 11 and I just am now feeling better. I am still very sore on my stomach. Take pain meds if you have them and ice your stomach. Try also taking some gas-x that might help a little. And the hunger pain is real. At least for me it was. Hang in there!! It will get better! Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Sleeves Any regrets????why and why not????

I am 5'7 and weighed 357 on surgery day (March 11) it's now been almost three weeks. I am down to 322. I can most definitely tell you that those first two weeks were absolute hell. I was feeling regret the moment I came out of anesthesia. The pain was just so unbearable. I ended up in the ER a day after being released from the hospital because I was in so much pain. BUT... things did get better and as of now I just feel sore. I am almost to the pureed stage. I am so sick of drinking my meals. In all honesty I'm not feeling super positive about this decision. I just want to feel like myself and I just feel blah. I don't mean at all to discourage you or scare you. This is just my story. Best of luck and a quick recovery. Nights spent in the hospital after sleeve surgery?

My surgery was on a Monday and I was discharged on Thursday afternoon. I had tons of pain so they kept me an extra day. I actually didn't feel well enough to go, but I kind of felt pushed to go home. I ended up in the ER the next day because of extreme pain. I would say my experience isn't typical based on what I've read. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Just had surgery

I felt the exact same way. I was absolutely miserable. It didn't help things that I started my period the day of surgery. I had so much pain I couldn't even get up to walk. It was horrible. I had surgery on March 11 and I do feel tons better. Still pretty sore in the stomach, but much better than in the beginning. Just rest and take your pain meds. And sip your water as often as you can. Good luck! You can do this! Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    The dreaded gas

Soooo.... the gas pain was bad the first day right after coming out of anesthesia.... but the worst of it was two things: I started my period the morning of surgery and I am a HEAVY bleeder and 2 the pain from the inscisions was pretty much unbearable. I hardly walked at all while in the hospital. I had to use a commode to go to the bathroom and I couldn't even wipe myself I was in so much pain. It was an absolute nightmare. I cried for days because I could not believe what I had done and the pain was just so bad. I'm into week 3 and things are better. I can finally lay on my side without a lot of pain. I am desperate for real food. I'm sick to death of protein shakes. Overall SO FAR.. I would rate my experience a 3/4 out of 10. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    1 Week Water Pain

Hey there... I have a similar issue. I can drink my protein shakes, eat soup without any kind of problem...but drinking water....two sips and I feel that same kind of stomach clenching. I can drink powerade zero fine to without that feeling... but plain water...not so much. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    March 2019 sleepers

I had my sleeve surgery March 11. I am just now starting to feel better... except for being hungry all the time. My stomach area is still very sore and some of my inscisions are still a little painful. Those people who were up and walking right surgery..I just don't get that! To make things worse, I started my period the day of surgery. So the whole time I was in the hospital I was bleeding super bad. It was absolutely awful. I'm sorry you are still having a hard time. You're not alone!! Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre Op diet-no protein shakes

My surgeon did not require any kind of pre op diet. Only 24 hours before my surgery I was to be on clear liquids. When I asked him why they didn't require it he literally said "because we aren't mean." Lol!!!! He said that sometimes if a patient was over 400lbs and was concerned about the liver being to large, then he would do it. I did eat very healthy the week leading up to the surgery however. I am 12 days post op and just now feel like I can lay down and be comfortable. I was sleeping sitting up till now because it was just too painful to try and lay down. I am still very sore, but I not nearly as painful as in the beginning. It will get easier! Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    April Sleevers

I started my period the day of my surgery. So the entire time I was in the hospital I was bleeding really heavily, the pain was unbearable even with medicine. I couldn't do any walking because I would almost pass out every time I tried to stand up. I could hardly make it to the commode to go to the bathroom. I couldn't wipe myself. I bled everywhere. It's been 11 days and I am doing better, but there was a point there at the beginning that I didnt know how I was going to get through it. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

  23. I hardly walked at all in the hospital. The pain was just so intense. Plus I was on my period and I bleed very heavily so my blood count was always down and everytime I tried to sit up I would almost pass out. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Any March 2019 Sleevers?

Thank you! I am doing better. I am able to get around by myself which is nice. I still cannot stand for too long before the incision pain really starts to get to me. I had cream of mushroom soup today and it was sooo good! Lol Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
