    January 2019 sleevers

Thank you for the great reply. I am still at a stall but I have become stronger with muscle and also I have found myself eating really healthy. I have lost inches and that is what keeps me going further everyday. I am sorry you need to have revision surgery and hope that is successful in the long run with you. I do miss food and often regret not eating a wonderful sandwich, or a piece of pizza, and hamburgers just don't even look good. Getting on the right track is important and pounds don't really matter since I have lost 60 lbs and hope I can get to my goal of 80 pounds. My dietician said I am doing amazing and my fitness pal app is helping me be successful with dietary intake and exercise. One thing that was never discussed while meeting with the staff was the importance of a food scale. It makes life so much easier to determine how much protein you have consumed as well as fiber. Fiber is difficult to get into your system when you are restricted on intake. Calcium chews are still a challenge but getting past it. Good luck to you.

    January 2019 sleevers

Hi, I had my sleeve done on January 15th. I am now 3 months into the surgery and am at a stall. I have lost 42 lbs but that has stayed for 3 weeks and I cannot seem to lose more weight. I am also struggling with what foods to eat to get my protein. I had a set back with pneumonia for 3 weeks so finding the right foods to eat have been a challenge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Starting back up on exercise and hopefully get the cardio going again. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you spoke to the dieticians yet? Have you kept up on protein? Don’t eat bread or sugar or anything that would stretch stomach. Go back to doing smoothies and protein. Your dietician should help you. Keep the faith.

Yes I agree it is only about me at this point. I guess I was in denial as to how large I really was. I am excited moving forward.

I had my surgery on January 15th and I have lost 36 lbs and not one person has noticed. I am saddened by that and am concerned my scales are off. I am going to the Dr. tomorrow for a check up and will see by their scales. I have a feeling of being hungry and cannot seem to satisfy it. I am thinking of going back to shakes to get my protein level back up. I can't eat that much and am having some challenges getting the protein in and am failing on the water. My strength is good but I do get tired and feel weak. I have been consuming about 800-1000 calories a day. I recently ordered Daily Harvest on line and it has been a good option for food. I add unflavored protein powder to it and it seems to work but my mind and body needs to have something to really chew on. I guess I never realized what a foodie I was before. I have a meeting with my dietician this week so hopefully she will give me some recipes to work on. Good luck to all.

I am averaging around 800 calories per day. I need to start eating more food and a variety.

Why are you struggling? Maybe you might want to attend one of the support groups. I find talking with others helpful. If I feel I am at a plateau then I reach out to my dieticians and they give me ideas. I struggle with what to eat. Getting all that protein in and the calcium which gives me a stomach ache. Getting physical is also a challenge because I put weight on in muscles. I hope you get past the struggling and realize it is a step to a new beginning. Good luck.

You are doing good. Keep it up! I on the other hand went to Austria and was eating way too much cheese and wursts. No beer a couple of sips of wine. Difficult to get 80 grams of protein in. If I eat another scrambled egg or runny youghart I might cringe. I know that it has affected me because my stomach is bloated. Back to the real world when I get off this plane. The only thing I can say is I walks between 15,000 to 20,000 steps a day. The scale will be frightening. 😣

What brand of scale did you get. Thanks.
  18. I was sleeved on the 15 th of January and my Drs have asked me not to do fruit due to sugar until the 6th month. I had a diet of lots of fruit. I do miss them. The seeds in Berries can be troublesome to many. When I have a craving I drink water or I will buy vitamin water that has a small amount of fruit juice in it. Just got to watch calorie and sugar content. Good luck. You will move past it shortly.

My dieticians said that they encouraged me to eat more food because I needed more calories in me to continue to loose. It is a fine line to achieve that without not getting sick. Meal planning is important I have lost a couple more pounds. Good luck.

Thank you for the response. I am going to take the omeprazole etc and hopefully that will help. I don't eat or drink anything within 2 hours of bedtime but it is not progressing like I want it to. I hope this is a passing phase since starting a soft diet. Good luck on your journey.

hi, I had my sleeve on the 15th. I feel like I have done well but now I am where you are and am having terrible reflux in the middle of the night. Does anyone else have the same problem. Just started some soft foods and have been extremely careful on what I am eating. My dietician said that she wants me to consume more calories because I am in a stall on my weight. Are you having any issues with your sleeve surgery? Thanks
  22. Hi,  I am having horrible gastric reflux usually a couple of hours after I go to bed. I stop eating at 6:30 and it is horrible. I have elevated my bed and am at a loss. My throat is so raw.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I will be  weeks out as of February 15.  Thanks for any suggestions.

as someone who struggled with reflux my whole life let me tell you about this awesome invention. its called a wedge pillow. https://www.contourliving.com/king-size-flip-pillow/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=PLA&utm_campaign=flippillow&gclid=Cj0KCQiAkfriBRD1ARIsAASKsQLik8hdhlGeXa-T49WLZFvKbrZ9h7l4uGA1MLdneOBml1aQnB5NpiEaAiIJEALw_wcB. saved my life. i had the bypass on the 31st, no reflux since then. If you got the sleeve i was told it could make it worse so i had to go with the bypass. stay away from soda, chocolate, spicy, alcohol, citrus. i went to bed at 10, last meal was at 5.

  23. I am now 2 weeks post op. I am on the liquid diet and am finding myself dying for another flavor other than sweet. The broths are making me feel sick.  Any suggestions would be great.  My surgery was on the 15th and now it the 25th.  I have lost 23 lbs and feel I am on a plateau.  Next week I get to start blended food.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  If you have suggestions please let me know.  Also does spicy food irritate the stomach or cause dumping?

I had a lot of scrambled eggs and cottage cheese on the puree staged. Soups are good to have as long as you puree them. I also did wendy's chili.

If you're on full liquids, you can have other blended soups like butternut squash, carrot-ginger, or tomato/basil. Stir in some unflavored protein powder and you're good to go. Pacific makes several good smooth-textured soups.
