  2. Thank you to everyone who replied to my quandary. My surgeon told me that I probably had a muscle hematoma because my bruising post op was substantially deeper than normal. It’s still sore, but I’m noticing easement of pain with eac day.

  4. I’m 10 days out and my left side is still excruciatingly painful. Is this normal? Also, I had my second protein shake about 4:30 and then supper around 7:00. Now, my left side is unbearable!! Is there a chance I overfilled my pouch to close together? I’m miserable! I’m supposed to do my third protein shake later this evening. I can’t bear it! Should I just call it quits for tonight and start a new day tomorrow? Actually, my whole day’s schedule got off because I slept in this morning.
  5. I had my RnY on January 23rd. I was allowed to do soft foods on day 7 up to 3 servings consisting of 4-6 tablespoons or 2-3 oz per meal. I’m still having excruciating pain on my left side. I’m even moving around the house and avoiding bed until evening. My question is, I had my protein drink about 4:30 and then my supper about 7. Now my left side is unbearable!!!!! Do you think I overfilled my pouch too close together with protein and supper? I don’t even want to think about my third round of protein shake later tonight!

  7. I really like your posts because they make me feel normal. I’m on day 5 and my left side is horrendous!! And just like you, I have no energy. I’m having to force myself to chew vitamins and drink protein!! I sure hope we look back on this experience and say, “Shoot, I’d do this all over again 10 times!!” mal
  8. Since my RnY on the 23rd, my sense of smell is extremely acute!! Nothing smells good! I’m getting my water in, but I’m really turned off by broth big time. Also, could anyone please suggest a pleasant tasting Bariatric multi vitamin? The one I use is overwhelming. I know I haven’t posted too much positive, but I’m pretty miserable right now. As soon as I start walking a little bit, I start getting light headed and nauseous.
  9. I had my surgery on the 23rd. The pain is severe, especially when I get up to walk. Tolerating fluids very well. Is anyone else having to wear a stomach compression belt?

  11. Sorry, just realized that this was an older post. ?
  12. I'm on my 4th day of liquid diet, and I'm only allowed 3 protein drinks, 64 oz. water, and 1 optional sugar-free jello container a day. I can add crystal light to my water if I want, but that's it. I've lost 9 pounds in 3 full days, but I'm famished!! I'm ready for it to get better too. I keep telling myself that I'm giving my surgeon plenty of room to work! Lol Also, in the scheme of things, 2 weeks is a pretty small price to pay for a healthier life afterward. Hang in there with me!!! We'll make it.

  16. In case any of you are still on your liquid phase, my nutritionist told me to heat up my pre-mixed chocolate protein drink like a hot chocolate. I did it yesterday at work, and it was amazing! Actually a lot better than regular hot chocolate. Also, with it being cold outside, the heated up protein was very calming and soothing. I just took my time and sipped it while I worked. I'm a high school librarian, and my students were cracking up at me for making such a big deal out of heated up chocolate protein. Lol Whatever gets me through, right?
  17. I love that story!! In the midst of a hurricane, bacon was way more important! ?

  20. Thank all of you who replied! I know I’ll make it, I just had to rant. Hearing from people who are in the same shoes helps tremendously!
  21. I’m on my second day of my 2week liquid diet before my surgery on the 23rd. Man, I’m struggling, but I haven’t cheated at all. When my husband was cooking supper, I thought I was going to lose it. I held my composure. Any one else cheat or wanted to?
