  1. I started taking B12, biotin, iron and D3 prior to surgery along with a chewable multi-vitamin. Everything other than the multi-vitamin is sublingual and I’ve had minimal hair loss, if any.

    Non Scale Victories

I had one this week too. I went to get my bloodwork done for my follow up next week. Last time I did this it was a tight squeeze to get the arm rest down over my belly. Plenty of room this time! The phlebotomist didn’t really understand my excitement to be in her chair LOL 😂

    Coffee?

My team gave me the okay to have one cup of regular coffee a day and I've been doing that since 6 weeks post op with no issues. I had an iced coffee yesterday for the first time since surgery and it was fantastic! I'm ready for warmer weather to take over the northeast!

    Tailbone

Me too! Sitting on the wooden chairs at my friend’s kitchen table were like torture! And the knees while sleeping... I’m right there too! I’m sorry you’re all feeling this pain, but I’m glad I’m in such good company! LOL
  6. I woke up this morning with several spots in my chin. I haven’t had acne is decades! I agree it’s probably hormone related as that has been an issue since my surgery on 12/17. My skin is just freaking out.
  7. I took two weeks off and worked remotely from home for a 3rd week. I definitely needed it and would have taken another week if I could have. I truly think my pain and discomfort came more from my hiatal hernia repair than my bypass. I’m 5.5 weeks post op and back to work like nothing ever happened!
  8. That’s awesome, Emma! You must be excited!
  9. My first consult was in August 2018 and I had gastric bypass surgery in December 2018, but… I had started the process 2 years prior but dropped out of the program due to family medical issues. I came prepared for my second round and had letters regarding my weight and BMI from my PCP for each of the last five years along with a letter recommending the surgery. Also had a year's worth of WW payments printed out. My program admin was amazing and gave me all the possible things I would need to get approved before I even had an EKG. She was amazing. I had insurance through BCBS at the time and pushed to get my surgery before the end of 2018 as my insurance changed to United and wls would no longer be covered. Seriously I can't figure it out… why wouldn't an insurance company just pay for the surgery rather than paying for all the prescriptions and medical conditions needing treatment because of obesity? Surely it's cheaper for them in the long run to just pay for wls, right?

    Chick-fil-a : post op

I had a chicken tender at 3 weeks post op… wasn't thinking and was out and about. Not good. It didn't stay put for long and I had my first (and so far only) serious case of dumping syndrome. I'll probably never eat another chicken tender again in my life! My own stupid fault, but live and learn LOL
  11. I’m sorry you all are going through this, but I’m glad I’m not alone! It’s funny it happened to you with turkey because that’s what happened to me with turkey too. I am 3 weeks post op as well. I bought 99% lean ground turkey breast and the first time I tried it I got the lump in my chest with nausea. Felt like burping would help but it didn’t. Thought I was going to vomit but didn’t. Passed in a couple of hours. 2nd time I was at work and barely ate half of my 3oz when it happened again. Luckily my boss was out of the office so I could hide out in his office. Needless to say I’m done with turkey for a while.

    Non Scale Victories

I had gastric bypass surgery on 12/17 and the first change I noticed was my watch band felt loose. It’s one notch tighter now. I can also see changes in my face. I decided to take a weekly photo to document the changes in my face. It’s crazy!

    Anti depressants post op

I had an RNY on 12/17 and I have to crush my anxiety med (Escitalopram) and I open my omeprazole capsules into apple sauce. The omeprazole is ER but I was told it was fine as long as I opened the capsule. I took Lisinopril for hbp but since my surgery my BP has been completely normal, so I’m not taking it any longer. My vitamins are either chewable or sublingual due to malabsorption. Best of luck to you!

    Sweet Tooth - Post Bypass

I just moved on to ground proteins and I’m still sticking with the SF popsicles. They are so much better than I ever thought they would be. So relieved when I like something I thought I’d hate LOL

    December Bypass Twin?

Managed to get a shake down today. Went with the orange cream HPMR done in the magic bullet with some added ice. So happy it went down okay. Able to do about 4oz of soup (blended to death) so I could actually have dinner with my family. Things are looking up! We got this you guys! 2019 is going to be our year!
